Robert Wuhl (born October 9, 1951) is an American actor, comedian and writer. He is perhaps best known as the creator and star of the television comedy series Arliss (1996–2002).
Wuhl was born in Union, New Jersey, to a Jewish family. His father worked as a produce distributor. After attending Union High School, Wuhl headed to the University of Houston, where he was active in the drama department and the Epsilon-Omicron Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Wuhl was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater in April 2012.
Wuhl's first role in movies was a starring role in the 1980 comedy The Hollywood Knights along with other fledgling actors Tony Danza, Michelle Pfeiffer and Fran Drescher, followed by a small role in the film Flashdance (1983). Wuhl then had larger roles in movies including Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) with Robin Williams,Bull Durham (1988) with Kevin Costner, Tim Burton's 1989 Batman (as reporter Alexander Knox) with Michael Keaton,Blaze (1989) with Paul Newman,Missing Pieces (1991) with Eric Idle, Mistress (1992) with Robert De Niro, Blue Chips (1994) with Nick Nolte, and Cobb (1994) with Tommy Lee Jones. He wrote two of the six episodes for the TV series Police Squad! in 1982, and did an audio commentary for its release on DVD in 2006.
Bull Durham is a 1988 American romantic comedy sports film. It is partly based upon the minor league experiences of writer/director Ron Shelton and depicts the players and fans of the Durham Bulls, a minor league baseball team in Durham, North Carolina.
The film stars Kevin Costner as "Crash" Davis, a veteran catcher brought in to teach rookie pitcher Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh (Tim Robbins) about the game in preparation for reaching the Major Leagues. Baseball groupie Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon) romances Nuke but finds herself increasingly attracted to Crash. Also featured are Robert Wuhl and Trey Wilson, as well as popular baseball "clown" Max Patkin.
Baseball movies were not considered a viable commercial prospect at the time and every studio passed except for Orion Pictures, which gave Shelton a USD $9 million budget, an eight-week shooting schedule, and creative freedom. Even so, many cast members accepted salaries lower than their usual due to their enthusiasm for the material. Costner was cast because of the actor's natural athletic ability. During filming, Costner was able to hit two home runs while the cameras were rolling.
Something that many consider fact is nothing more than fiction made up by someone hundreds of years ago, proliferated by mainstream media and modern pseudo-science, and accepted as fact by the majority. A great example of propaganda and mind control. If you have any comments of questions, either comment here or send me an email with the address at the end of the video. Seal-Kiss From A Rose [Batman Forever]
Funny song orignally written by my high school vice principal Phil Ryan and mutilated by me many times over the years. Recorded at the Cheyne Family Reunion at Turtle Lake in 2008. It's hard to make your cousins laugh during a song that they've heard at least a dozen times so I usually improvise a little. The "ticking" sound you hear in the background is the crackling of the campfire. Cousin Christy provides some backing guitar and vocals. © 2009 Rick Cheyne. All rights reserved.
Hey Look at the way she's wavin' her sail,
It's a wonderous sight to see.
People hurry on down from every town
Have a look at the Robert E. Lee.
Proud and strong and made to be free,
Can't go wrong on the Robert E. Lee.
Got the sun in my eyes and the wind in my face.
And it's good just to be alive.
Gonna set out tonight for New Orleans;
I won't sleep till I arrive.
And if I'm lucky
I'll find a young lady under the stars,
And we'll dance the night away.
Somebody wake me and say it's a dream
Leadin' me far from my home.
And haven't you noticed, despite what it seems.
You can't deny it's you and I alone.
Maybe spend my life just workin' the land,
Maybe livin' from day to day.
But I'm free tonight in New Orleans:
If I like it I just might stay!
Proud and strong and made to be free,
Can't go wrong on the Robert E. Lee.
Got the sun in my eyes and the wind in my face.
And it's good just to be alive.
Gonna set out tonight for New Orleans;
I won't sleep till I arrive.
