Shaukat Ali

Shaukat Ali also known as Shaukat Ali Khan is a folk singer from Pakistan.

Born into a family of artists in Malakwal, Punjab, Pakistan,Shaukat Ali began singing while at college in the 1960s, receiving help from his elder brother Inayat Ali Khan.He was introduced into the Pakistani film world as a playback singer by the renowned film music director M Ashraf in Punjabi film Tees Maar Khan (1963). Since 1970, he has performed ghazals and Punjabi folk songs.Shaukat Ali received Voice of Punjab award in 1976.In June 2013,Shaukat Ali was honored with Pride of Punjab award by the Pakistan Institute of Language,Art and Culture (PILAC). He gave a live performance at the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, and has been awarded the highest Pakistani civilian Presidential award Pride of Performance in 1990. His song "Kadi Te Hass Bol Vey" was used in the 2009 Indian movie Love Aaj Kal. He also has released a track titled "Jagga". He is the father of Pakistani singer Imran Shaukat Ali.

Nabeel Shaukat Ali (Urdu: نبيل شوکت علی‎; born August, 29 1989) is a Pakistani singer. He contested in Sur Kshetra, a singing talent show the musical battle between teams of two neighboring countries: Pakistan and India aired simulcast on Geo TV, Sahara One, Colors TV, AAG TV as well as Rishtey. He ultimately came first in the finals and was declared the winner of the show.

Personal life

Ali was born in Lahore, Pakistan. His elder brother is also a singer. He started singing at a very early age with his father Shaukat Ali, he learnt harmonium from his father.

Career

Ali always wanted to be a singer from his childhood. His first appearance was in Azme Alishan National Song Competition (Season 2), in which he performed in front of top Pakistani musicians like Strings and Arshad Mehmood and was declared the winner.Azme Alishan also produced a music video named Hai Yeh Pakistan, sung by Ali and it topped the charts of many Pakistani Music channels.

Nabeel Qureshi

Nabeel Qureshi (born 1985) is a Pakistani film, television, & music video director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his 2014's directorial debut and box office hit Na Maloom Afraad. He is also the director of the comedy news show Banana News Network which airs on Geo TV. Qureshi is two times Lux Style Award nominator.

Early life

Qureshi was born in 1985 in Sukkur, Sindh and moved to Karachi in 2004. He studied Theatre at National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) and was dropped out because of some issues with the faculty.

Career

Qureshi started his career in mid-2000s by directing ads, cooking shows, television shows and television films.

Qureshi is also the director of comedy news show Banana News Network, which is being aired on Geo TV since 2011, it broadcasts every Wednesdays at 11:05 PM (PST).

In 2012, Qureshi directed the music video of Mohsin Abbas Haider's debut song Beparwah Dhola.

In 2014, Qureshi made his directorial debut with Na Maloom Afraad, which he co-wrote with his college friend Fizza Ali Meerza, who produced the film along with Mehdi Ali through her Filmwala Pictures. The comedy thriller stars Fahad Mustafa, Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbas Haider, and Urwa Hocane, released domestically on October 6, 2014 by Hum Films. The film became the box office hit in Pakistan and grossed ₨12.2 crore until March 2015, with a budget of ₨9 crore. In 2015, he was nominated for the Lux Style Award for Best Director and for Best Original Soundtrack for the lyrics of "Billi", which would be shared with Meerza. The ceremony would be held in late 2015.
