The Pirates of Penzance - Hold Monsters Major-General (Subtitles)

Gilbert and Sullivan's raucous operatic tale is captured in all its fun and glory in this production, recorded live at Central Park's Delacorte Theater. Kevin Kline sparkles as the swashbuckling and libidinous Pirate King while Linda Ronstadt makes her theatrical debut as the lovely and virginal Mabel. When Mabel and Frederic, a young pirate bound to serve the Pirate King, fall in love, complications arise and high spirited antics ensue. The incomparable cast offers the best in this boisterous romp.
Despite some of the technical shortcomings of the DVD I found it more rewarding than the 1983 movie. I would thoroughly recommend adding a copy of this DVD to your library.

I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General (often referred to as the Major-General's Song or Modern Major-General's Song) is a patter song from Gilbert and Sullivan's 1879 comic opera The Pirates of Penzance. It is perhaps the most famous song in Gilbert and Sullivan's operas. It is sung by Major-General Stanley at his first entrance, towards the end of Act I. The song satirises the idea of the "modern" educated British Army officer of the latter 19th century. It is one of the most difficult patter songs to perform, due to the fast pace and tongue-twisting nature of the lyrics. The song is replete with historical and cultural references, in which the Major-General describes his impressive and well-rounded education, but he says that his military knowledge has "only been brought down to the beginning of the century." The character of Major-General Stanley was widely taken to be a caricature of the popular general Sir Garnet Wolseley.

The Foot Guards of the Household Division, accompanied by their bands, march from Wellington Barracks along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade for the Major General's Review on 3 June 2017.
The Major General's Review was the first full rehearsal for Trooping the Colour. The colour being trooped in 2017 is that of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. There are five bands on parade here, along with the Corps of Drums of the Irish Guards Guards and the Coldstream Guards, and the Drums and Pipes of the Scots Guards and the Irish Guards.
There are six Guards on parade with seventy men and three officers assigned to each, except for the Escort for the Colour which has seventy-six men.
Also on parade is the Regimental Mascot of the Irish Guards, an Irish Wolfhound called Domhnall (pronounced Donal, and the Irish equivalent of the Scottish Donald). Domhnall of Shantamon (his full name) is making his debut at the Queen's Birthday Parade, having replaced Conmael in 2012.
The music list for the parade is substantial and comprises around 40 items of music. The list does not include the music played between Wellington Barracks and Horse Guards Parade which adds another twenty or so pieces. So there is a substantial programme for these musicians to perform.
The six groups of Foot Guards are:
Escort for the Colour (No. 1 Guard) Support Company, 1 Battalion Irish Guards
No 2 and No 3 Guards - 1st Battalion Irish Guards
No 4 Guard - Nijmegen Company, Grenadier Guards
No 5 Guard - F Company, Scots Guards

Major general
Major general (or major-general, short MG) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparently confusing phenomenon whereby a lieutenant general outranks a major general. (Though a major outranks a lieutenant, a lieutenant outranks a sergeant-major.)
In the Commonwealth and United States, it is a division commander's rank subordinate to the rank of lieutenant general and senior to the rank of brigadier/brigadier general.
In some countries, including much of Eastern Europe, major general is the lowest of the general officer ranks, with no brigadier-grade rank above colonel.
In France, major general (major général) is an appointment, normally of corps general. The major general assists a chief of staff. There is one major general for the chief of staff of the armed forces as a whole, and one for each of the four armed forces chiefs (army, navy, air force and gendarmerie).

The Pirates of Penzance
The Pirates of Penzance; or, The Slave of Duty is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert. The opera's official premiere was at the Fifth Avenue Theatre in New York City on 31 December 1879, where the show was well received by both audiences and critics. Its London debut was on 3 April 1880, at the Opera Comique, where it ran for 363 performances, having already been playing successfully for over three months in New York.
The story concerns Frederic, who, having completed his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and the two young people fall instantly in love. Frederic soon learns, however, that he was born on 29 February, and so, technically, he only has a birthday each leap year. His indenture specifies that he remain apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday and that he must serve for another 63 years. Bound by his own sense of duty, Frederic's only solace is that Mabel agrees to wait for him faithfully.

Gilbert and Sullivan
Gilbert and Sullivan refers to the Victorian-era theatrical partnership of the librettist W. S. Gilbert (1836–1911) and the composer Arthur Sullivan (1842–1900) and to the works they jointly created. The two men collaborated on fourteen comic operas between 1871 and 1896, of which H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado are among the best known.
Gilbert, who wrote the words, created fanciful "topsy-turvy" worlds for these operas where each absurdity is taken to its logical conclusion—fairies rub elbows with British lords, flirting is a capital offence, gondoliers ascend to the monarchy, and pirates turn out to be noblemen who have gone wrong. Sullivan, six years Gilbert's junior, composed the music, contributing memorable melodies that could convey both humour and pathos.
Their operas have enjoyed broad and enduring international success and are still performed frequently throughout the English-speaking world. Gilbert and Sullivan introduced innovations in content and form that directly influenced the development of musical theatre through the 20th century. The operas have also influenced political discourse, literature, film and television and have been widely parodied and pastiched by humourists. Producer Richard D'Oyly Carte brought Gilbert and Sullivan together and nurtured their collaboration. He built the Savoy Theatre in 1881 to present their joint works (which came to be known as the Savoy Operas) and founded the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, which performed and promoted Gilbert and Sullivan's works for over a century.

More comfortable with spacecraft than stagecraft, Danny struggles with rehearsals, and incurs the wrath of the cast when he breaks the cardinal rule of acting by saying "Macbeth" in the theatre. That's when things get weird. Lights fall, fruit floats, and freaky ghosts start singing show tunes. Danny teams up with a new-age actress, a tough Italian self-help guru, and a sci-fi obsessed stage manager to save the actors and his ex-girlfriend from the curse of Macbeth.

I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General
Gilbert and Sullivan's raucous operatic tale is captured in all its fun and glory in this production, recorded live at Central Park's Delacorte Theater. Kevin Kline sparkles as the swashbuckling and libidinous Pirate King while Linda Ronstadt makes her theatrical debut as the lovely and virginal Mabel. When Mabel and Frederic, a young pirate bound to serve the Pirate King, fall in love, complications arise and high spirited antics ensue. The incomparable cast offers the best in this boisterous romp. Despite some of the technical shortcomings of the DVD I found it more rewarding than the 1983 movie. I would thoroughly recommend adding a copy of this DVD to your library.

I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General (often referred to as the Major-General's Song or Modern Major-General's Song) is a patter song from Gilbert and Sullivan's 1879 comic opera The Pirates of Penzance. It is perhaps the most famous song in Gilbert and Sullivan's operas. It is sung by Major-General Stanley at his first entrance, towards the end of Act I. Foot Guards march along The Mall [2017] to The Major General's Review
The Foot Guards of the Household Division, accompanied by their bands, march from Wellington Barracks along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade for the Major General's Review on 3 June 2017. The Major General's Review was the first full rehearsal for Trooping the Colour. The colour being trooped in 2017 is that of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. Gilbert and Sullivan's raucous operatic tale is captured in all its fun and glory in this production, recorded live at Central Park's Delacorte Theater. Kevin Kline sparkles as the swashbuckling and libidinous Pirate King while Linda Ronstadt makes her theatrical debut as the lovely and virginal Mabel. When Mabel and Frederic, a young pirate bound to serve the Pirate King, fall in love, complications arise and high spirited antics ensue. The incomparable cast offers the best in this boisterous romp.
Despite some of the technical shortcomings of the DVD I found it more rewarding than the 1983 movie. I would thoroughly recommend adding a copy of this DVD to your library.

I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General (often referred to as the Major-General's Song or Modern Major-General's Song) is a patter song from Gilbert and Sullivan's 1879 comic opera The Pirates of Penzance. It is perhaps the most famous song in Gilbert and Sullivan's operas. It is sung by Major-General Stanley at his first entrance, towards the end of Act I. The song satirises the idea of the "modern" educated British Army officer of the latter 19th century. It is one of the most difficult patter songs to perform, due to the fast pace and tongue-twisting nature of the lyrics. The song is replete with historical and cultural references, in which the Major-General describes his impressive and well-rounded education, but he says that his military knowledge has "only been brought down to the beginning of the century." The character of Major-General Stanley was widely taken to be a caricature of the popular general Sir Garnet Wolseley.

The Foot Guards of the Household Division, accompanied by their bands, march from Wellington Barracks along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade for the Major General's Review on 3 June 2017.
The Major General's Review was the first full rehearsal for Trooping the Colour. The colour being trooped in 2017 is that of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. There are five bands on parade here, along with the Corps of Drums of the Irish Guards Guards and the Coldstream Guards, and the Drums and Pipes of the Scots Guards and the Irish Guards.
There are six Guards on parade with seventy men and three officers assigned to each, except for the Escort for the Colour which has seventy-six men.
Also on parade is the Regimental Mascot of the Irish Guards, an Irish Wolfhound called Domhnall (pronounced Donal, and the Irish equivalent of the Scottish Donald). Domhnall of Shantamon (his full name) is making his debut at the Queen's Birthday Parade, having replaced Conmael in 2012.
The music list for the parade is substantial and comprises around 40 items of music. The list does not include the music played between Wellington Barracks and Horse Guards Parade which adds another twenty or so pieces. So there is a substantial programme for these musicians to perform.

وزارت دفاع عراق در بیانیهای اعلام کرد که رئیس ستاد مشترک ارتش عراق امروز در راس یک هیات بلندپایه برای هماهنگی تلاشها و همکاری نظامی راهی تهران شد.
رئیس ستاد مشترک ارتش عراق شنبه گذشته نیز قبل از برگزاری همه پرسی منطقه کردستان عراق به آنکار رفت و با خلوصی آکار همتای ترکیهای خود دیدار کرد.

Top General: Iran Recognizes Only Unified Iraq
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran does not place any value on the self-proclaimed sovereignty of any party and group over northern Iraqi territories, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said, stressing that Tehran recognizes only a unified Iraq with the current legal common borders.
“We do not regard any sovereignty for the parties and groups in North Iraq, and this is a common belief held by the Armed Forces of the both sides (Iran and Iraq),” Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said in a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Major General Othman al-Ghanmi, held in Tehran on Wednesday evening.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran recognizes integrated and unified Iraq, and as the Iraqi prime minister has said, Iran’s common frontier with Iraq are the existing legal borders,” the Iranian general noted.
Both Tehran and Baghdad disapprove of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum, Major General Baqeri added, stressing that Iran does not agree with any change in Iraq’s geography or with the secession of any region from that country.
He also noted that he has reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to supporting the Iraqi government, Army, and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) -also known as Hashd al-Shaabi- in the meeting with the visiting Iraqi general.

John Murray Corse was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 27 April 1835. His father served six terms as mayor of the town of Burlington, Iowa Territory, and established a prosperous book and stationery business in which young John became a partner.
He was appointed to the United States Military Academy and studied there for two years. Leaving West Point in 1855, Corse chose not to stay in the military but instead attended a law school in Albany, New York, and passed his bar exam. He returned to Iowa and was nominated as the new state’s lieutenant governor by the Iowa Democratic Party. In 1860, he unsuccessfully ran for secretary of state.
Corse joined the 6th Iowa Infantry as its major in July 1861 and initially served under Maj. Gen. John C. Fremont. He then served on the staff of Maj. Gen. John Pope early the following year during the Battle of Island Number Ten and associated engagements. He returned to field duty with his regiment and fought in the Siege of Corinth earning promotion to lieutenant colonel. He was promoted to brigadier general of volunteers on 11 August 1863, in recognition of his service at the Siege of Vicksburg. Assigned command of the 4th Brigade, 4th Division, XV Corps, Army of the Tennessee, Corse participated in the Chattanooga Campaign. After recuperating from an injury suffered at Missionary Ridge, Corse returned to active duty as the inspector general on Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman’s staff. In July 1864, he returned to field duty in command of a division in XVI Corps.
At the Battle of Allatoona in October 1864, Sherman ordered Corse with 2,100 men to secure Allatoona Pass to prevent Confederate Gen. John Bell Hood from severing Union communications. His men fought determinedly against the 7,000 troops under Hood’s command. During the battle, Corse “lost one third of his men and one third of his ear” but secured the pass on 5 October. Corse received a famous message from Sherman, “Hold on, I am coming!” Corse was badly wounded losing a cheekbone and one ear. He recovered and participated in Sherman’s March to the Sea and the Siege of Savannah. He led his division during the Carolinas Campaign. He was appointed brevet major general for his service at Allatoona.
Following the war, Corse served in a variety of posts, refused a commission as lieutenant colonel in the regular army, and mustered out of the volunteer service in April 1866. He built railroads and bridges in Iowa. He was named the regional Collector of Internal Revenue with his office in Chicago. Corse later moved to Massachusetts and was chairman of the state’s Democratic committee. He was then appointed Postmaster of Boston. He was married to former U.S. President Franklin Pierce’s grandniece. Corse died on his 58th birthday, 27 April 1893, in Winchester, Massachusetts.

General Gebregziabher Andemariam, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Defence Force,was conducted today at Asmara Patriots Cemetery with patriotic zeal in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Ministers, Senior Government and PFDJ officials, Army Commanders, religious leaders and a large number of nationals. ዝኸበርኩም ኣንበብቲ፡ ገዲም ተጋዳላይ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር ካካይ ብዝሓደሮ ሕማም ብቐዳም 14 ለካቲት 2015 ወጋሕታ ከምእተሰውአ ብዜና ተገሊጹ’ዩ። ስነ-ስርዓት ቀብሪ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ካካይ፡ ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ፡ ኣባላት ካቢነ ሚኒስተራት፡ ላዕለዎት ሰበ-ስልጣን መንግስትን ግንባርን፡ ኣዘዝቲ ሰራዊት፡ መራሕቲ ሃይማኖት ከምኡ’ውን ቤተሰቡ፡ ህዝብን ሰራዊትን ኣብ ዝተረኽቡሉ፡ ብረቡዕ 18 ለካቲት ኣብ መካነ-መቓብር ሓርበኛታት ኣስመራ ተፈጺሙ። ኣብቲ ኣጋጣሚ ብጠቕላሊ ሓለቓ ስታፍ ሚኒስትሪ ምክልኻል ጀነራል ፍሊጶስ ወልደዮውሃንስ ዝተነበበ ሓጺር ታሪኽ ህይወት ስዉእ እንሆ፦ ክቡራንን ክቡራትን! ከም ኩሉ ፍጡር፡ ሓርበኛ እውን ታሪኹ’ዩ ዝነብር እምበር ዘልኣለማዊ ኣይኮነን። እንሆ ድማ ሎሚ፡. . .ሓደ ካብቶም፡ ገድሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ንናጽነት ዘፍረዮም፡ ምሉእ ዕምሮም ንህዝባዊ ዕላማ ወፍዮም ብልዑል ሓቦን ጽንዓትን ዝተቓለሱ ሓርበኛታት፡ ብመስዋእቲ ተፈልዩናስ ብሓበንን ክብሪን ንፋነዎ ኣሎና። ካብ ተራ ተዋጋኣይ ክሳብ ሓላፊ ክፍሊ፡ ኣመሓዳሪን ኣዛዚ ሰራዊትን ኮይኑ ንሃገሩን ህዝቡን ብተወፋይነት ዘገልገለ፡ ሓርበኛ ተጋዳላይ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ)። ኣብ 1948 ዓ.ም.፡ ካብ ወለዱ ኣቶ ዑመር መሓመድን ወይዘሮ ሳዕድያ ኣሕመድን ኣብ “ኣፍታ” ንኡስ ዞባ “ዙላ” ዝተወልደ ተጋዳላይ ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ)፡ ካብ 67 ዕድመኡ፡ 47 ዓመታት ኣብ ቃልሲ ንናጽነትን ህንጸት ሃገርን እዩ ኣሕሊፍዎ። ሓደ ካብቶም ሓያል ፍቕሪ ህዝቢን ሃገርን፡ ትስፉው መንፈስ፡ ጽንዓት፡ ተበጃውነት፡ ትብዓት፡ ምቕሉልነት ዝመለለይኡ ክብርታት ዝውንኑ ጀጋኑ ኤርትራውያን ተቓለስቲ ድማ እዩ። ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ካካይ፡ ግዜ ንእስነቱ ኣብ ትውልዲ ዓዱ “ኣፍታ” ምስ ስድራቤቱ፡ ኣብ ሕርሻዊ ንጥፈታት እናተሓጋገዘ’ዩ ኣሕሊፍዎ። ገና ብቑልዕነቱ ትጉህን ህርኩትን ሰብ ድማ እዩ ነይሩ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ እዋን ብጽሕናኡ፡ ጸላኢ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ዘውርዶ ዝነበረ ግፍዒታት፡ ብፍላይ ድማ፡ ኣብ 1967 ዓ.ም.፡ ኣብቲ ዝዓበየሉ ከባቢ፡ ኣብ ሓያሎ ዓድታት ዝፍጸም ዝነበረ ኣረሜናዊ ቅትለትን ራስያን ብምርኣይ’ዩ፡ ኣንጻር መግዛእቲ ናይ ምቅላስ ልዑል ወኒን መንፈስን ዘሕደረ። በዚ ድማ፡ ወዲ 19 ዓመት እንከሎ፡ ኣብ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ተወዲቡ፡ ኣብ ዓዱ ኮይኑ ምስ ተጋደልቲ ክተሓጋገዝ ጀሚሩ። ነዊሕ ከይጸንሐ፡ ኣብ ሰነ 1968፡ ኣብ መሳርዕ 4ይቲ ክፍሊ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ብምጽንባር፡ ኣብ ዓጎምቦሳ ወተሃደራዊ ታዕሊም ወሲዱ። ምስ ምቛም ስሙር ሓይሊ፡ ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ ሓይሊ ሮሞዳን ትረ ተመዲቡ ገድሉ ክቕጽል ድሕሪ ምጽናሕ፡ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ምስ ተወልደ፡ ካብ ተ.ሓ.ኤ. ናብ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ሰጊሩ፡ ቃልሱ ንናጽነት ብዝለዓለ ወኒን መንፈስን ቀጺሉ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ምስ ተጸንበረ፡ ካብ 1971 ክሳብ 1975 ኣብ ዝነበረ ዓመታት፡ ኣብ ክፍሊ ኣጽዋር ህ.ሓ. እዩ ዝነጥፍ ነይሩ። ኣብቲ ከቢድ ሃልኪን ድኻምን ዝመልኦ፡ ብልሓት፡ ምስጢራውነትን ትብዓትን ዝጠልብ ዕማማት ምዕቃብን ምብጽጻሕን ኣጽዋርን ተተኰስቲን ብልዑል ተወፋይነት ድሕሪ ምግልጋሉ ድማ፡ ኣብ 1975፡ ኮሚሳር ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ክኸውን በቒዑ። ክሳብ 1977 በዚ ሓላፍነት’ዚ ብምስራሕ ከኣ፡ ኣብ ጥሪ 1977 ሓላፊ ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ኮይኑ ተመዚዙ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ ካካይ፡ ን9 ዓመታት ዝኣክል ሓላፊ ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ህ.ግ. ኮይኑ ኣብ ዝሰርሓሉ እዋን፡ ኣብ ዕብየትን ምዕባለን ናይቲ ክፍሊ ዓቢ ኣበርክቶ ዝገበረ ሓላፊ እዩ። ብድሕሪ’ዚ ኣብ 1986፡ ካብ ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ናብ ክፍሊ ህዝባዊ ምምሕዳር ተቐይሩ፡ ኣመሓዳሪ ዞባ ምብራቕ ኮይኑ ተመዚዙ። ኣብ ክፍሊ ህዝባዊ ምምሕዳር ንሓደ ዓመት ብምግልጋል ከኣ፡ ኣብ ነሓሰ 1987 ናብ ተዋጋኢ ሰራዊት ተቐይሩ፡ ኣብ ክፍለ ሰራዊት 70 ኮሚሳር ክፍለሰራዊት ንምዃን በቒዑ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ ክፍለሰራዊት 70 ሰለስተ ዓመታት ድሕሪ ምግልጋል፡ ኣብ 1990 በዚ ጽፍሒ’ዚ ናብ ክፍለሰራዊት 96 ተቐይሩ። ክሳብ ዕለተ ናጽነትን ድሕሪኡን ከኣ ብደረጃ ኮሚሳር ክፍለሰራዊት ኣገልጊሉ። ኣብ ጥሪ 1992 ኮሚሳር ኮር 161 ኮይኑ ዝተመዘዘ ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ክሳብ 1994 ኣብ ዝነበረ ግዜ፡ ኣብ ኮራት 161ን 271ን ብደረጃ ኮሚሳር ድሕሪ ምስራሕ፡ ኣብ ግንቦት 1994 ሓላፊ ስታፍ ሎጂስቲክስ ሚኒስትሪ ምክልኻል ኮይኑ ተመዲቡ። በዚ ጽፍሒ’ዚ፡ ን5 ዓመታት ምስ ሰርሐ ድማ፡ ካብ 1999 ክሳብ 2002፡ ሓላፊ ስታፍ ዞባ ስርሒት 4፡ ካብ 2002 ክሳብ 2004 ኣዛዚ ዞባ ስርሒት 3 ኮይኑ ኣገልጊሉ። ካብ 2004 ክሳብ ዕለተ መስዋእቱ ድማ፡ ሓላፊ ስታፍ ኣጽዋር ሚኒስትሪ ምክልኻል ኮይኑ ብተወፋይነት ክገልግል ጸኒሑ። ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ፡ ኣብ ኩሉ ዝተመደቦ ስርሓት፡ ሃገርን ህዝቢን ዘሰከሞ ሓላፍነት፡ ብልዑል ተወፋይነትን ብቕዓትን ብምፍጻም፡ ኣብ ቃልሲ ንናጽነትን ህንጸት ሃገርን ብሓፈሻ፡ ኣብ ምስፋሕን ምምዕባልን ንጥፈታት ዕቃበ ብረት ድማ ብፍላይ ዓቢ እጃም ዘበርከተ ዜጋ እዩ
ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ)፡ ኣብ ፈለማ ናይ ቃልሲ ህይወቱ፡ ማለት ኣብ 1969፡ ኣብ ኩመይላ፡ ሓሽሻይ፡ ሓልሓል ኣብ ዝተኻየደ ውግኣት ከምኡ’ውን፡ ኣብ 1971፡ ኣብ ኲናት ሓድሕድ ፈልሒት ብደረጃ ተራ ተዋጋኣይ ክሳተፍ እንከሎ፡ ካብ 1987 ንደሓር፡ ብደረጃ ኮሚሳርን ኣዛዚን ክፍለሰራዊት፡ ኣብ ውግኣት ግንባር ናቕፋ፡ ኣብ ስርሒት ፈንቅልን ምርብራብ ግንባር ጊንዳዕን ከምኡ’ውን ኣብ ውግኣት ምሕራር ሰንዓፈ፡ ድግሳ፡ ሰገነይቲ ተሳቲፉ፡ ጅግንነቱ፡ ተወፋይነቱን ብቕዓት ኣመራርሓኡን ዘመስከረ ዜጋ እዩ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ 1978 ኣብ ናቕፋ፡ 2ይ ዙርያ ፖለቲካዊን ፍልስፍናዊን ትምህርቲ ክቐስም እንከሎ፡ ኣብ 1985 እውን ኣብ ዓራግ ትምህርቲ ወተሃደራዊ ሳይንስን ካርታን ቀሲሙ እዩ። ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ፡ በዓል ሓዳርን ኣቦ ሓንቲ ውላድን እዩ። ተጋዳላይ ኣሕመድ፡ ብሃገራዊን ሞያዊን ኣበርክቶኡ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ከም ውልቀሰብ፡ ብሰብኣዊ ባህርያቱ እውን ፍቱው ብጻይ እዩ ነይሩ። ምስ ዓቢ ይኹን ንእሽቶ ብቐሊሉ ክረዳዳእ ዝኽእል ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣዝዩ ምቕሉልን ሕያዋይን ብምንባሩ፡ ብመቓልስቱን መሳርሕቱን ቅቡልን ምስጉንን እዩ ነይሩ። ምሉእ ዕድመኡ ብልዑል ሓቦን ጽንዓትን ስለ ሃገርን ህዝቢን ተወፍዩ ዝተቓልሰ ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብዚ ቀረባ እዋን ብዘጋጠሞ ሕማም፡ ኣብ ውሽጢ ሃገርን ሱዳንን ሕክምናዊ ክንክን ክግበረሉ ድሕሪ ምጽናሕ፡ ኣብ ወጋሕታ ናይ 14 ለካቲት 2015፡ ኣብ ሃገረ ሱዳን ኣብ ሆስፒታል ዓሪፉ። ሎሚ (ትማሊ) ረቡዕ 18 ለካቲት 2015 ድማ፡ ክቡር ፕረዚደንት ሃገረ ኤርትራ ብጻይ ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ፡ ኣባላት ካቢነ ሚኒስተራት፡ ላዕለዎት ሰበስልጣን መንግስቲን ግንባርን፡ ኣዘዝቲ ሰራዊት፡ መራሕቲ ሃይማኖት፡ ቤተሰቡ፡ ህዝቢን ሰራዊትን ኣብ ዝተረኽብሉ፡ ኣብ መካነ መቓብር ሓርበኛታት ኣስመራ፡ ብኽብ ዝበለ ስነ-ስርዓት ሓመድ ኣዳም ለቢሱ። ዕድመኡ ምሉእ ንሃገራዊ ናጽነትን ዕብየትን ዝወፈየ ገዲም ተቓላሳይ ኣሕመድ “ዓሪፉ” ዝብል ዜና ክስማዕ እንከሎ፡ ንህዝቢን ሃገርን ዓቢ ክሳራ ብምዃኑ ዘሕዝን እኳ እንተኾነ፡ ስውእ ተጋዳላይ ኣሕመድ ዑመር ግን፡ ኣብቲ ዝተዋህቦ ዕምሪ፡ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቢን ሃገርን ተጻዒኑ ዝነበረ ኣርዑት መግዛእቲ ኣብ ምቕንጣጥ፡ በሪ ርሁው መጻኢ ኣብ ምርሓው፡ ኩለንተናኡ ንሃገሩን ህዝቡን ወፍዩ፡ ዕውት ስራሕ ብምስራሕ፡ ሃገራዊ ግቡኡ ብምልኣት ዝፈጸመ ዜጋ ብምዃኑ፡ ነቲ ብዙሕ ዝዓመመሉን ዘፍረየሉን ጉዕዞ ህይወቱ ብሓበንን ዓቢይ ክብርን እናዘከርና ኢና ንፋንዎ ዘለና። መንግስቲ ኤርትራ፡ ብመስዋእቲ ገዲምን ውፉይን ብጻይ፡ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ) ዝተሰምዖ መሪር ሓዘን እናገለጸ፡ ንስድራቤቱን መላእ ህዝቢ ኤርትራን “ጽንዓት ይሃብኩም!” ይብል።

ዝኸበርኩም ኣንበብቲ፡ ገዲም ተጋዳላይ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር ካካይ ብዝሓደሮ ሕማም ብቐዳም 14 ለካቲት 2015 ወጋሕታ ከምእተሰውአ ብዜና ተገሊጹ’ዩ። ስነ-ስርዓት ቀብሪ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ካካይ፡ ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ፡ ኣባላት ካቢነ ሚኒስተራት፡ ላዕለዎት ሰበ-ስልጣን መንግስትን ግንባርን፡ ኣዘዝቲ ሰራዊት፡ መራሕቲ ሃይማኖት ከምኡ’ውን ቤተሰቡ፡ ህዝብን ሰራዊትን ኣብ ዝተረኽቡሉ፡ ብረቡዕ 18 ለካቲት ኣብ መካነ-መቓብር ሓርበኛታት ኣስመራ ተፈጺሙ። ኣብቲ ኣጋጣሚ ብጠቕላሊ ሓለቓ ስታፍ ሚኒስትሪ ምክልኻል ጀነራል ፍሊጶስ ወልደዮውሃንስ ዝተነበበ ሓጺር ታሪኽ ህይወት ስዉእ እንሆ፦ ክቡራንን ክቡራትን! ከም ኩሉ ፍጡር፡ ሓርበኛ እውን ታሪኹ’ዩ ዝነብር እምበር ዘልኣለማዊ ኣይኮነን። እንሆ ድማ ሎሚ፡. . .ሓደ ካብቶም፡ ገድሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ንናጽነት ዘፍረዮም፡ ምሉእ ዕምሮም ንህዝባዊ ዕላማ ወፍዮም ብልዑል ሓቦን ጽንዓትን ዝተቓለሱ ሓርበኛታት፡ ብመስዋእቲ ተፈልዩናስ ብሓበንን ክብሪን ንፋነዎ ኣሎና። ካብ ተራ ተዋጋኣይ ክሳብ ሓላፊ ክፍሊ፡ ኣመሓዳሪን ኣዛዚ ሰራዊትን ኮይኑ ንሃገሩን ህዝቡን ብተወፋይነት ዘገልገለ፡ ሓርበኛ ተጋዳላይ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ)። ኣብ 1948 ዓ.ም.፡ ካብ ወለዱ ኣቶ ዑመር መሓመድን ወይዘሮ ሳዕድያ ኣሕመድን ኣብ “ኣፍታ” ንኡስ ዞባ “ዙላ” ዝተወልደ ተጋዳላይ ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ)፡ ካብ 67 ዕድመኡ፡ 47 ዓመታት ኣብ ቃልሲ ንናጽነትን ህንጸት ሃገርን እዩ ኣሕሊፍዎ። ሓደ ካብቶም ሓያል ፍቕሪ ህዝቢን ሃገርን፡ ትስፉው መንፈስ፡ ጽንዓት፡ ተበጃውነት፡ ትብዓት፡ ምቕሉልነት ዝመለለይኡ ክብርታት ዝውንኑ ጀጋኑ ኤርትራውያን ተቓለስቲ ድማ እዩ። ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ካካይ፡ ግዜ ንእስነቱ ኣብ ትውልዲ ዓዱ “ኣፍታ” ምስ ስድራቤቱ፡ ኣብ ሕርሻዊ ንጥፈታት እናተሓጋገዘ’ዩ ኣሕሊፍዎ። ገና ብቑልዕነቱ ትጉህን ህርኩትን ሰብ ድማ እዩ ነይሩ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ እዋን ብጽሕናኡ፡ ጸላኢ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ዘውርዶ ዝነበረ ግፍዒታት፡ ብፍላይ ድማ፡ ኣብ 1967 ዓ.ም.፡ ኣብቲ ዝዓበየሉ ከባቢ፡ ኣብ ሓያሎ ዓድታት ዝፍጸም ዝነበረ ኣረሜናዊ ቅትለትን ራስያን ብምርኣይ’ዩ፡ ኣንጻር መግዛእቲ ናይ ምቅላስ ልዑል ወኒን መንፈስን ዘሕደረ። በዚ ድማ፡ ወዲ 19 ዓመት እንከሎ፡ ኣብ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ተወዲቡ፡ ኣብ ዓዱ ኮይኑ ምስ ተጋደልቲ ክተሓጋገዝ ጀሚሩ። ነዊሕ ከይጸንሐ፡ ኣብ ሰነ 1968፡ ኣብ መሳርዕ 4ይቲ ክፍሊ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ብምጽንባር፡ ኣብ ዓጎምቦሳ ወተሃደራዊ ታዕሊም ወሲዱ። ምስ ምቛም ስሙር ሓይሊ፡ ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ ሓይሊ ሮሞዳን ትረ ተመዲቡ ገድሉ ክቕጽል ድሕሪ ምጽናሕ፡ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ምስ ተወልደ፡ ካብ ተ.ሓ.ኤ. ናብ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ሰጊሩ፡ ቃልሱ ንናጽነት ብዝለዓለ ወኒን መንፈስን ቀጺሉ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ምስ ተጸንበረ፡ ካብ 1971 ክሳብ 1975 ኣብ ዝነበረ ዓመታት፡ ኣብ ክፍሊ ኣጽዋር ህ.ሓ. እዩ ዝነጥፍ ነይሩ። ኣብቲ ከቢድ ሃልኪን ድኻምን ዝመልኦ፡ ብልሓት፡ ምስጢራውነትን ትብዓትን ዝጠልብ ዕማማት ምዕቃብን ምብጽጻሕን ኣጽዋርን ተተኰስቲን ብልዑል ተወፋይነት ድሕሪ ምግልጋሉ ድማ፡ ኣብ 1975፡ ኮሚሳር ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ህዝባዊ ሓይልታት ክኸውን በቒዑ። ክሳብ 1977 በዚ ሓላፍነት’ዚ ብምስራሕ ከኣ፡ ኣብ ጥሪ 1977 ሓላፊ ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ኮይኑ ተመዚዙ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ ካካይ፡ ን9 ዓመታት ዝኣክል ሓላፊ ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ህ.ግ. ኮይኑ ኣብ ዝሰርሓሉ እዋን፡ ኣብ ዕብየትን ምዕባለን ናይቲ ክፍሊ ዓቢ ኣበርክቶ ዝገበረ ሓላፊ እዩ። ብድሕሪ’ዚ ኣብ 1986፡ ካብ ክፍሊ ዕቃበ ብረት ናብ ክፍሊ ህዝባዊ ምምሕዳር ተቐይሩ፡ ኣመሓዳሪ ዞባ ምብራቕ ኮይኑ ተመዚዙ። ኣብ ክፍሊ ህዝባዊ ምምሕዳር ንሓደ ዓመት ብምግልጋል ከኣ፡ ኣብ ነሓሰ 1987 ናብ ተዋጋኢ ሰራዊት ተቐይሩ፡ ኣብ ክፍለ ሰራዊት 70 ኮሚሳር ክፍለሰራዊት ንምዃን በቒዑ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ ክፍለሰራዊት 70 ሰለስተ ዓመታት ድሕሪ ምግልጋል፡ ኣብ 1990 በዚ ጽፍሒ’ዚ ናብ ክፍለሰራዊት 96 ተቐይሩ። ክሳብ ዕለተ ናጽነትን ድሕሪኡን ከኣ ብደረጃ ኮሚሳር ክፍለሰራዊት ኣገልጊሉ። ኣብ ጥሪ 1992 ኮሚሳር ኮር 161 ኮይኑ ዝተመዘዘ ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ክሳብ 1994 ኣብ ዝነበረ ግዜ፡ ኣብ ኮራት 161ን 271ን ብደረጃ ኮሚሳር ድሕሪ ምስራሕ፡ ኣብ ግንቦት 1994 ሓላፊ ስታፍ ሎጂስቲክስ ሚኒስትሪ ምክልኻል ኮይኑ ተመዲቡ። በዚ ጽፍሒ’ዚ፡ ን5 ዓመታት ምስ ሰርሐ ድማ፡ ካብ 1999 ክሳብ 2002፡ ሓላፊ ስታፍ ዞባ ስርሒት 4፡ ካብ 2002 ክሳብ 2004 ኣዛዚ ዞባ ስርሒት 3 ኮይኑ ኣገልጊሉ። ካብ 2004 ክሳብ ዕለተ መስዋእቱ ድማ፡ ሓላፊ ስታፍ ኣጽዋር ሚኒስትሪ ምክልኻል ኮይኑ ብተወፋይነት ክገልግል ጸኒሑ። ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ፡ ኣብ ኩሉ ዝተመደቦ ስርሓት፡ ሃገርን ህዝቢን ዘሰከሞ ሓላፍነት፡ ብልዑል ተወፋይነትን ብቕዓትን ብምፍጻም፡ ኣብ ቃልሲ ንናጽነትን ህንጸት ሃገርን ብሓፈሻ፡ ኣብ ምስፋሕን ምምዕባልን ንጥፈታት ዕቃበ ብረት ድማ ብፍላይ ዓቢ እጃም ዘበርከተ ዜጋ እዩ
ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ)፡ ኣብ ፈለማ ናይ ቃልሲ ህይወቱ፡ ማለት ኣብ 1969፡ ኣብ ኩመይላ፡ ሓሽሻይ፡ ሓልሓል ኣብ ዝተኻየደ ውግኣት ከምኡ’ውን፡ ኣብ 1971፡ ኣብ ኲናት ሓድሕድ ፈልሒት ብደረጃ ተራ ተዋጋኣይ ክሳተፍ እንከሎ፡ ካብ 1987 ንደሓር፡ ብደረጃ ኮሚሳርን ኣዛዚን ክፍለሰራዊት፡ ኣብ ውግኣት ግንባር ናቕፋ፡ ኣብ ስርሒት ፈንቅልን ምርብራብ ግንባር ጊንዳዕን ከምኡ’ውን ኣብ ውግኣት ምሕራር ሰንዓፈ፡ ድግሳ፡ ሰገነይቲ ተሳቲፉ፡ ጅግንነቱ፡ ተወፋይነቱን ብቕዓት ኣመራርሓኡን ዘመስከረ ዜጋ እዩ። ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብ 1978 ኣብ ናቕፋ፡ 2ይ ዙርያ ፖለቲካዊን ፍልስፍናዊን ትምህርቲ ክቐስም እንከሎ፡ ኣብ 1985 እውን ኣብ ዓራግ ትምህርቲ ወተሃደራዊ ሳይንስን ካርታን ቀሲሙ እዩ። ስውእ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ፡ በዓል ሓዳርን ኣቦ ሓንቲ ውላድን እዩ። ተጋዳላይ ኣሕመድ፡ ብሃገራዊን ሞያዊን ኣበርክቶኡ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ከም ውልቀሰብ፡ ብሰብኣዊ ባህርያቱ እውን ፍቱው ብጻይ እዩ ነይሩ። ምስ ዓቢ ይኹን ንእሽቶ ብቐሊሉ ክረዳዳእ ዝኽእል ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣዝዩ ምቕሉልን ሕያዋይን ብምንባሩ፡ ብመቓልስቱን መሳርሕቱን ቅቡልን ምስጉንን እዩ ነይሩ። ምሉእ ዕድመኡ ብልዑል ሓቦን ጽንዓትን ስለ ሃገርን ህዝቢን ተወፍዩ ዝተቓልሰ ብጻይ ኣሕመድ፡ ኣብዚ ቀረባ እዋን ብዘጋጠሞ ሕማም፡ ኣብ ውሽጢ ሃገርን ሱዳንን ሕክምናዊ ክንክን ክግበረሉ ድሕሪ ምጽናሕ፡ ኣብ ወጋሕታ ናይ 14 ለካቲት 2015፡ ኣብ ሃገረ ሱዳን ኣብ ሆስፒታል ዓሪፉ። ሎሚ (ትማሊ) ረቡዕ 18 ለካቲት 2015 ድማ፡ ክቡር ፕረዚደንት ሃገረ ኤርትራ ብጻይ ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ፡ ኣባላት ካቢነ ሚኒስተራት፡ ላዕለዎት ሰበስልጣን መንግስቲን ግንባርን፡ ኣዘዝቲ ሰራዊት፡ መራሕቲ ሃይማኖት፡ ቤተሰቡ፡ ህዝቢን ሰራዊትን ኣብ ዝተረኽብሉ፡ ኣብ መካነ መቓብር ሓርበኛታት ኣስመራ፡ ብኽብ ዝበለ ስነ-ስርዓት ሓመድ ኣዳም ለቢሱ። ዕድመኡ ምሉእ ንሃገራዊ ናጽነትን ዕብየትን ዝወፈየ ገዲም ተቓላሳይ ኣሕመድ “ዓሪፉ” ዝብል ዜና ክስማዕ እንከሎ፡ ንህዝቢን ሃገርን ዓቢ ክሳራ ብምዃኑ ዘሕዝን እኳ እንተኾነ፡ ስውእ ተጋዳላይ ኣሕመድ ዑመር ግን፡ ኣብቲ ዝተዋህቦ ዕምሪ፡ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቢን ሃገርን ተጻዒኑ ዝነበረ ኣርዑት መግዛእቲ ኣብ ምቕንጣጥ፡ በሪ ርሁው መጻኢ ኣብ ምርሓው፡ ኩለንተናኡ ንሃገሩን ህዝቡን ወፍዩ፡ ዕውት ስራሕ ብምስራሕ፡ ሃገራዊ ግቡኡ ብምልኣት ዝፈጸመ ዜጋ ብምዃኑ፡ ነቲ ብዙሕ ዝዓመመሉን ዘፍረየሉን ጉዕዞ ህይወቱ ብሓበንን ዓቢይ ክብርን እናዘከርና ኢና ንፋንዎ ዘለና። መንግስቲ ኤርትራ፡ ብመስዋእቲ ገዲምን ውፉይን ብጻይ፡ ሜጀር ጀነራል ኣሕመድ ዑመር መሓመድ (ካካይ) ዝተሰምዖ መሪር ሓዘን እናገለጸ፡ ንስድራቤቱን መላእ ህዝቢ ኤርትራን “ጽንዓት ይሃብኩም!” ይብል።

General Gebregziabher Andemariam, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Defence Force,was conducted today at Asmara Patriots Cemetery with patriotic zeal in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Ministers, Senior Government and PFDJ officials, Army Commanders, religious leaders and a large number of nationals.
The funeral ceremony was accompanied by Salute of the Guard of Honor that marched from Maj. General Gebregziabher's home to the cemetery, and the memoir was presented by Brig. General Tekle Libsu.
The departed Maj. General Gebregziabher joined the Liberation Forces in 1971 and served in various capacities for 43 years ranging from a rank-and-file member to Chief of Staff of the Defense Force, and his exemplary steadfastness persisted in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and the nation-building process. He also possessed a valuable charisma concerning nationalism, love for people, energy, bravery and pleasant personality.
The funeral service witnessed the laying of wreath by President Isaias, Mr. Al-Amin Mohammed Seid, PFDJ Secretary, Gen. Sibhat Ephrem, Defense Minister, Ms. Leul Gebreab, Chairperson of the NUEW, and Commanders of all commands, Naval force and Air Force, as well as the People's Army.
The Government of Eritrea conveys message of condolence to the family members and the citizenry in connection with the passing away of the late Maj. General Gebregziabher Andemariam, chief of staff of the Defense Force.
