UK's Secretary of State for Exiting the EU David Davis was back in Brussels for the second formal round of Brexit negotiations on Monday, where he and the European Commission's Chief Brexit Negotiator Michel Barnier told a press conference that they were ready to get to work.
Davis stressed the importance of highlighting the two teams’ differences so that they could be worked through, adding that now was the time to get into "the substance of the matter" in order to make a successful negotiation.
Davis went on to outline the planned topics of discussion, including citizens' rights, the UK’s financial settlement for leaving the union, "other separation issues", and also the issue of Northern Ireland.
