California (i/ˌkælᵻˈfɔːrnjə/ KAL-ə-FORN-yə, /ˌkælᵻˈfɔːrniə/ KAL-ə-FAWR-nee-ə) is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. It is the most populous U.S. state, with 39 million people, and the third largest state by area (after Alaska and Texas). California is bordered by Oregon to the north, Nevada to the east, Arizona to the southeast, and the Mexican state of Baja California to the south. It contains the nation's second most populous census statistical area (Greater Los Angeles Area) and the fifth most populous (San Francisco Bay Area), and eight of the nation's 50 most populated cities (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, Long Beach, and Oakland). Sacramento has been the state capital since 1854.
What is now California was first settled by various Native American tribes before being explored by a number of European expeditions during the 16th and 17th centuries. It was then claimed by the Spanish Empire as part of Alta California in the larger territory of New Spain. Alta California became a part of Mexico in 1821 following its successful war for independence, but was ceded to the United States in 1848 after the Mexican–American War. The western portion of Alta California was organized as the State of California, which was admitted as the 31st state on September 9, 1850. The California Gold Rush starting in 1848 led to dramatic social and demographic change, with large-scale immigration from the east and abroad with an accompanying economic boom.
Dean Paul Martin (born Dino Paul Crocetti; June 7, 1917 – December 25, 1995) was an American singer, actor, comedian, and film producer.
One of the most popular and enduring American entertainers of the mid-20th century, Martin was nicknamed the "King of Cool" for his seemingly effortless charisma and self-assurance. He and Jerry Lewis were partners in the immensely popular comedy team "Martin and Lewis". He was a member of the "Rat Pack" and a star in concert stage/nightclubs, recordings, motion pictures, and television. He was the host of the television variety program The Dean Martin Show (1965–1974) and The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast (1974–1985).
Martin's relaxed, warbling crooning voice earned him dozens of hit singles including his signature songs "Memories Are Made of This", "That's Amore", "Everybody Loves Somebody", "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You", "Sway", "Volare", and "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?".
Martin was born on June 7, 1917 in Steubenville, Ohio, to an Italian father, Gaetano Alfonso Crocetti (1894–1967), and an Italian-American mother, Angela Crocetti (née Barra; 1899–1966). They were married in 1914. His father, who was a barber, was originally from Montesilvano, in Abruzzo, and his maternal grandparents' origins are believed to be also from Abruzzo even if it is not clearly known. Martin had an older brother named William Alfonso Crocetti (1916-1968). Martin's first language was an Abruzzese dialect of Italian, and he did not speak English until he started school at the age of 5. He attended Grant Elementary School in Steubenville where he was bullied for his broken English. He later took up the drums as a hobby as a teenager. Martin then dropped out of Steubenville High School in the 10th grade because he thought he was smarter than his teachers. He bootlegged liquor, served as a speakeasy croupier, was a blackjack dealer, worked in a steel mill and boxed as a welterweight.

Dean Martin - Little 'Ol wine drinker me Lyrics: I'm praying for a rain in California So the grapes can grow and they can make more wine And I'm sitting in a honky in Chicago With a broken heart and a woman on my mind. I'll ask the man behind the bar for the jukebox And the music takes me back to Tennessee And when they ask who's the fool in the corner, crying I'll say, little old wine drinker, me. I came here last week from down in Nashville 'Cause my baby left for Florida on a train I thought I'd get a job and just forget her But in Chicago a broken heary is still the same. I'll ask the man behind the bar for the jukebox And the music takes me back to Tennessee And when they ask who's the fool in the corner, crying I'll say, little old wine drinker, me

If you're a subscriber to this channel, you're either planning a trip to California, or you're a resident looking for new places to check out. Today I'm going to share some of my Top 10 travel tips for visiting California like a local. Tip No. 1: Book California State Park campgrounds exactly 7 months before you want to visit on http://www.ReserveAmerica.com. If you're hoping to score a busy holiday like the Fourth of July, reserve a few dates in the end of June, then add a few days to your visit. Securing a campground in Yosemite is also tricky. You'll need to log into http://www.Recreation.gov a few minutes before 7 a.m. on the 15th of the month — five months in advance of your visit. Popular c...

http://bookinghunter.com San Diego, California, is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States and, arguably, one of the most beautiful. The whitewashed stucco buildings give a Mediterranean-style flavor to the architecture while the culture has a decidedly Mexican influence to it (Tijuana is just a short drive over the border). Despite this foreign-country look and feel, the city of San Diego is uniquely American and a truly memorable place to visit. The most important places to visit in San Diego are: Mission Beach, Balboa Park (one of the greatest urban parks of the world. With museums and gardens inside the park, you can spend days there), Hotel Del Coronado (an amazing ocean front hotel and historic national landmark. It has hosted top celebrities, like Marilyn ...

Los Angeles is a huge metropolitan that is a collection of unique smaller villages; the capital of the film industry reaches from Santa Monica on the coast, through Malibu all the way to the elegant Beverly Hills. The main sight of San Diego is its harbour and the nostalgic Gaslamp Quarter. However, California is made up of more than just huge cities; it is also full of natural beauty, from the giant sequoias to the Yosemite National Park, the small towns that are reminiscent of th...

In this travel video guide to San Francisco, I travel to San Francisco, California, one of the most scenic cities in the United States, if not the world. In town for a conference for only four days, only one of which was going to be sunny, I headed out to see as much as I could in a day. I started my day by visiting the Haight-Ashbury district, San Francisco's most famous neighborhood. Ground zero for the Summer of Love, this neighborhood's bohemian past is still evident as you walk around the area, though things have changed quite a bit. Next I headed to the Mission District, San Francisco's "It" neighborhood right now. Home to a large and varied immigrant population, cheap rents have lured many a young and hip individual to the area, evidenced by the artisanal chocolate shops, used boo...

The Embarcadero is a busy waterfront roadway taking in some of San Francisco's most famous landmarks, including Market Street, the Bay Bridge and the San Francisco Ferry Building. Fisherman's Wharf, at the northern end of the Embarcadero, is known for great shops and restaurants. Golden Gate Bridge and the island fortress of Alcatraz. are easy to get to from here. Nearby at Pier 39 you can enjoy the best views of San Francisco and visit the sea lion colony. Experience the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, or head to the Haight-Ashbury district, where you'll find ...
Los Angeles, Southern California, is known for its sunshine, entertainment industry and openness to newcomers. In Downtown Los Angeles, Olvera Street is one of the oldest surviving areas in L.A., to experience the colors and tastes of Old Mexico. Just across the road is Union Station, which has appeared in almost 30 big-budget movies. The main attractions in Los Angeles include Knott's Berry Park, the Aquarium of the Pacific and, of course, Disneyland. Rodeo Drive, in the heart of Beverly Hills, is the world's most expensive and exclusive shopping area. Hollywood is the epicenter of the world's entertainment industry. Highlights are the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theater. Griffith Park is America's largest and wildest urban park. Perched high on the slopes of Mount Hol...

https://www.expedia.com/Yosemite-National-Park.d180672.Destination-Travel-Guides Yosemite National Park sits on the western slopes of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. Most visitors spend their time in Yosemite Valley, which despite being only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide, packs in more jaw-dropping scenery than just about any other place on Earth. Near the valley entrance stop at Tunnel View, and stand before a panorama that’s reduced generations of visitors to silence. From Tunnel View it’s just a short drive to Bridalveil Fall. Fed by snowmelt, the fall reaches its thundering peak in May. The Yosemite Valley ring road follows the banks of the Merced River, which shifts in character as it thunders from the valley walls, before gently winding across the valley floor. The ring r...

Canadian filmmaker Apolla Echino was tired of seeing men get to have all the fun in adventure films and is on a one-woman mission to change that around. Her documentary series, A Woman’s Guide To The World, has taken her aboard a tall ship sailing to Antarctica and into the wildest corners of the Amazon jungle. But it’s the latest chapter, a wintertime surf trip across the stunning South Island of New Zealand that has attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers from across the globe. The film charts Apolla's journey from the breathtaking Kaikoura coastline, south to the Catlins and west to the wild and remote Jackson Bay. Apolla even chances upon a freshwater break at the mouth of the Buller River - a rare event that only occurs a dozen times a year. In the freezing New Zealand winter, A...
