Galicia: New operation against Gabriel Pombo da Silva and Elisa Di Bernardo (Spain)

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Careful who you call comrade!

Tuesday, 24 January, on the outskirts of Vigo (Mos), a deployment of about 60 armed men between the Guardia Civil and secret agents, searched (and almost destroyed) the house where Gabriel Pombo da Silva had lived for a few months with his partner Elisa Bernardo. At dawn the two were violently awakened, handcuffed and separated … aim: to find firearms and explosives! The search lasted about eight hours and in spite of the means employed (dogs and high technology radar tools), gave no results … among the things seized there is the usual “interesting” anarchist material, cameras, maps of various cities, some cable and old malfunctioning cell phones.

While Elisa, despite the repeated threat of being placed under arrest unless she revealed the much desired hiding place, remained free, Gabriel was arrested on charges of “illegal possession and trafficking of weapons and explosives and armed group”. During the 24 hours’ detention (the release of the comrade happened, in fact, the next day) the facts were bitterly reconstructed. (more…)

Pula: Nothing is over, everything continues – RadioAzione Croatia (Croatia)

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

Received and translated to English by Act for freedom now!

Update: RadioAzione, Italy“To be or not to be… that’s not our question”

IN CROATIAN, IN ITALIAN, IN GREEK

On the morning of January 23, 2015 agents of the Croatian secret services – SOA – turned up here because they wanted to talk to me about my site, RadioAzione Croatia, and to my husband, anarchist comrade, Italian citizen, who runs and also hosts other anarchist sites (including RadioAzione), threatening him with expulsion.

Their discourse began with threats concerning my personal relationships, both current and future, assuming that these are and will only be realized with anarchists, not Croatian of course, warning me that Croatia has no intention of becoming a haunt for people who are a problem for their countries of origin. Here the reference to my relationship with the comrade of RadioAzione Italy is clear.

Of course the threats are not limited to my relationships with comrades, they also warn me that any foreign national who comes to visit me in Croatia in the future, anarchist or not, will be treated as suspicious. And then they get lost in the usual threats concerning my parents, my position as unemployed, possible raids, arrests etc.

Their intention was to intimidate me by threatening to isolate me here in Croatia, far from my ”Italian and Greek friends” (an expression that they used several times). Because they are well aware of the fact that I could not expect any cooperation, activities or whatever with the local movement.

They also tell me that they know other anarchists in Croatia, but that they, unlike me, do not constitute a problem, that I am a unique and singular case for these territories (hinting that other anarchists in Croatia do not care much for my ideas). And that they are also aware of the fact that I was the one to introduce insurrectionalist theories into these territories and beyond years ago, with translations of some texts of Alfredo M. Bonanno. A point that they particularly stressed. (more…)

“Not only against prison, but also against the detention of every living being” – Contribution of Gianluca Iacovacci from the prison of Alessandria (Italy)

Friday, January 2nd, 2015

“Not only against prison, but also against the detention of every living being”

Contribution to the Croce Nera Anarchica bulletin # 1 – September 2014

I would like to begin with a quick analysis of repression, its functions and its application, and then talk in an effective way about my vision of things. I very often prefer to go to the root of the discussion or in any other situation.

In this case I want with premeditation to completely skip the political-social debate – even if radical – about jail, and focus directly on the rationality of the detention of living beings – of any form they may be -, and focus on the eradication of the logic of the ‘right’ and of its formality.

For what concerns my position about the context and the case for which I am imprisoned, it all has already been said in my second contribution published in the January issue of “La Miccia”, and I guess also on the counter-info websites.

I will restrain myself from expanding this written dialogue so to avoid repetitions. You can already read – if you want – a partial vision and pragmatism of struggle and resistance in my first published writing War to the Machines, so I would like to temporarily restrict the dialogue, in a specific way, to the detention originated by speciesism, civilization and normalization of the struggles, keeping in great consideration the uniqueness of the contexts in the conflict against the existent.

Lately the repressive waves – generally against the anarchists – often happen in the sleeping periods of the strategies of the so-called anti-terrorism apparatuses of the political police. These operative tactics are used, in addition to their repressive aim, to build up media events – that include false accusations – and to spread an impression of a permanent terrorist danger, echoing the evergreen “anni di piombo” [“Years of Lead”: Italian period of political turmoil and armed struggle from the 1970s to early 1980s – trans.], infiltrators, extreme fringes and jumps in quality. Update on anarchist comrade Gabriel Pombo da Silva (Spain)

Saturday, June 7th, 2014

via Radioazione / Actforfree:

On 13th June 13 2012, among the many police operations against anarchists, the Italian government launched a repressive attack called ‘Operation Ardire’ on a dozen comrades. There were 40 raids, 24 people under investigation and 8 comrades sent to jail. In this case they tried to give a wider form to the operation, by accusing comrades imprisoned in different European countries such as Greece, Switzerland and Germany.

As usual, the State showed its authoritarian face against its sworn enemies, and fabricated roles of leaders, agents and organizers within yet another ‘terrorist association’, when in fact there were affinities, letter exchanges with prisoners, struggles and claims.

So it happened that Gabriel Pombo da Silva and Marco Camenisch, imprisoned for many years, ended up in this investigation following an international hunger strike carried out in December 2009; they were named as ‘symbols and points of reference of a new subversive project’ of which they would be ‘ideologists and supporters.’ (more…)

On January 17, 2014 the preliminary hearing for the case of “Operazione Ardire” was held in Perugia, concerning the Perugia line of the investigation. At the request of the public prosecutor, the nun Manuela Comodi, the charges of terrorist association (270a) has been dropped, while the comrades have been indicted for some specific facts (writing slogans on walls, etc.), which however has been recognized as the aggravating circumstance of terrorism.

Inter Arma’s announcement about being targeted by the lackeys of anti-terrorist agency (Greece)

Friday, January 3rd, 2014

The past two days, we have read in various police snitching websites and newspaper columns, targeted leaks by the anti-terrorist agency, which connect Inter Arma with the FAI/IRF”s projects “Phoenix” and “Green Nemesis” and claim that these are all part of the same guerrilla campaign. These specific snitches are known for targeting the comrades who participate in diffusing militant anarchist theory and action. The enemy has long ago realized the role that counter-information and translation projects play in the diffusion of Black International and in the communication between guerrilla formations all around the world. This oppression strategy, is nothing more than a known war tactic· the silencing of the opponent’s transmitters.

Projects like Inter Arma, have been targeted again in the past. We remind you that during “Ardire” operation in Italy, two counter-information projects (Culmine, ParoleArmate) and one publishing project (Edizioni Cerbero) had been hit by repression, a situation which resulted in many of them being pre-trial detained for many months. It is also known that the states of Greece and Italy co-operate against their common inner enemy.

We will not go even an inch back from our positions, nor will we change the nature of our project. We participate in an international network of similar projects and we support militant anarchy’s groups, prisoners and guerrilla cells. We have made our choice and we tend to keep our word.

For New Anarchy and the Black International!

‘Operation Ardire’ – Communiqué of Culmine (Italy)

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

Via informa-azione, BPD

Dear comrades,

as many of you already know the anarchist blog Culmine was released from prison on September 7 because the period of pre-trail detention had expired.

However it cannot be said that we were freed because they have inflicted restrictions on us: we can’t travel abroad, are compelled to live in our towns and have to report to the police station twice a day. (more…)

Anarchist comrade Elisa Di Bernardo’s contribution to the IX Meeting for Animal Liberation (Italy)

Friday, October 4th, 2013

Note: This contribution was written by Elisa while she was still locked up in the Rebibbia prison following so-called Operation Ardire. She was released on September 7 and she is now being subjected to restrictive measures.

Hi everybody!

To be honest (excuse me for the unpleasant word) I’ve never participated in any of the previous meetings for animal liberation. This is the first time I’m expressing my opinion on an occasion of this kind, although I’m locked up in jail.

What I’m about to write is not necessarily linked to a precise and univocal topic related to an agenda, but it is meant as a series of considerations and questions, which share a holistic perspective and an antiauthoritarian way to perceive the existent.

It may seem an inconclusive series of thoughts… do what you want with it, but I want to let you know that the main goal of my short contribution is to demolish some stereotypes and demystify some ‘absolute truths’. And now I’m going freewheel… (more…)

Elisa Di Bernardo has not been released from prison – correction from Actforfreedomnow! (UK, Italy)

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013

From actforfree:

We regret having to rectify a serious mistake we made when posting up our translation of the interview of imprisoned Culmine blog by anarchist publication Aversión.

Elisa Di Bernardo, one of the two comrades interviewed, has NOT been released from Rebibbia prison as we had believed. In fact Elisa is the only female comrade arrested following ‘Operation Ardire’ who is still in pre-trial detention since June 2012.

We send our apologies, greetings, rage, solidarity and respect to Elisa

Phoenix Project #5 : 'ICR-FAI-IRF / Free Mandylas and Tsavdaridis Cell' take responsibility for the incendiary attack against a school for police in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (Indonesia)

Brief Message To The Enemies (Phoenix Project part 5)

[Parts 1, 2, 3 & 4]

We will not talk about “unfair prosecutions”, about “the climate of terror against those who fight”, nor about the “new totalitarian-ism” and things like that. That’s because we know that none of these is new. These are simply snapshots of the ancient war between two incompatible words: on the one side lies the disgusting world of the Authority, of the submissive crowd and of the social cesspit and on the other side, the anarchist insurgents, the insubordinate fighters of the Negative, those who do not bow down to nobody. We will neither talk about the others. The ones who these days feel secretly happy and relieved. Now it’s not the time nor the place to do so. They should bear in mind, however, that the time will come to talk about these things. –
Freedom To The Wolves of The North

When we said “nothing is over”, it’s not only just words. Our threats will turn into action, time by time, every second we get the chance. And every time, we will bring our actions closer to your face. Directly in front of your guns, uniforms and prison – repressive tools that are often used to kidnap our revolutionary comrades. We will never let you sleep well, because our war is not over yet. (more…)

Interview with Individualist anarchist prisoners Elisa Di Bernardo and Stefano Gabriele Fosco of the blog Culmine (Italy)

Friday, August 23rd, 2013

From Aversión -Publicación Anarquista-issue 8, May 2013.
Translated from Italian by act for freedom now/B.pd

1 – Aversión: In recent years, for reasons we won’t analyse here, which mainly concern the direction the system is taking, but which affect our ways of relating with one another, blogs and websites have been taking on the task that our publications used to fulfil in the past. In your opinion, how does this affect the struggle and its perception?

– Culmine: We are convinced that we are going through a new era in anarchism. Blogs and websites allow the quick spreading of communiqués, texts and writings all over the planet, and make possible the exchange of ideas and proposals between comrades who will probably never get the chance to meet in person. This is a proper revolution in the relations between anarchists. We are well aware of the limits of this new way of relating considering both the fact that the instrument we use is not neutral, but is run and controlled by the enemy, and the fact that the risks are high, as Culmine demonstrates, even if the latter didn’t choose to stay anonymous. The anarchist blog Culmine was locked up on June 12 2012 also due to its work of counter-information. (more…)
