Yesim Nurova is a journalist affiliated with R9 Media. She is an animal rights activist known throughout Turkey and Europe. She has organized and led some of the largest animal liberation and animal rights demonstrations and protests, many with a Direct Action component, in Asia. Also, she is the Founder of the Spanish language A.L.F Frente de Liberación Animal Liberation/Animal Rights Community, an animal liberation and animal rights online resource for Spanish speaking activists around the world.

The North American Animal Liberation Press Office where I’m an Advisor and Liaison for Europe. Also, I’m a Journalist affiliated with New York City based R9 Media.
Q-Why are you an activist? How did you get involved in the fight for
animal liberation?
I’m an Animal Liberation Activist because animals are the most oppressed beings on the planet. They suffer and endure so much pain at the hands of and service towards humanity. Worldwide there are factory farms, fur farms, leather factories, slaughterhouses, circuses and zoos. All of which imprison them and subject them to violence and exploit them for goods, resources and entertainment. They are slaughtered for food, clothing, accessories, cosmetics, medical testing and medical products. This is unacceptable in the twenty-first century. Animals have the right to live free of suffering and exploitation at the hands of humans. Fighting for the freedom of animals is my fight. I, and in fact all people, have an ethical responsibility towards animals. They cannot fight for their own freedom so the responsibility falls to Activists. They must be liberated from their slavery and I’m in solidarity with them. I’m fighting for their freedom. (more…)

For the first time in my life I can see how the animals live in the factory farms.
There is a very strictly scheduled mode. Light clock timer determining night and day, right now imitating night by darkness. I am shining with the flash-lamp over the hall where hundreds of chickens survive – sentenced to death alive. There’s no time to think about daily cruelty and torture. It’s time to take action.

Butcher Shops Sabotaged in Santiago by Animal Liberation Front (Chile)

“…with simple materials we sabotaged the locks so that the owners of this so-called ‘job’ can have it clear in their heads that there are subjects that do not want and do not respect the commercialization of humiliation, suffering and death of animals.” – Javier Recabarren affiliate cell of ALF
The ALF assumes the low-scale sabotage committed during the night of July 28 in the periphery of Santiago against 2 butcher shops, 1 private dwelling (butcher owner’s house), 1 access fence into the butcher and other shops, and lastly, 1 shop selling chicken.
The flow of commercialization in the shops selling dead animals was interrupted as we filled tens of their locks with liquid steel, which the bastard owners discovered later that morning with surprise. In the following days, we left a message on paper, making it very clear why this action was committed.

9 cars burnt in Mulheim by Wildfire Cell – ALF/ELF/FAI (Germany)

In the early hours of February 14th, we set fire to the urban-cemetary of Mulheim An Der Ruhr, burning nine cars by placing home made incendiary devices on the tires. To us all cars are equally disgusting and toxic machines of the techno-industrial system, so we burn them indiscriminately, choosing not to limit ourselves to targeting some abstract definition of “luxury” cars.
This attack was an act of vengeance for all the nonhuman comrades crushed on the roads of human “progress”, and whose lives and homes are destroyed every day to produce cars for the smooth functioning of society and the accumulation of power to the hands of the corporations destroying our home, the natural environment.
We chose to act one day before the original date of the court case for the attempted escape of Conspiracy of Cells of Fire – Imprisoned Members Cell, to stand with them until all prisons are ashes and ruins, and all human and nonhuman comrades are free.
We also send our greetings, love and rage to Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar, whose court trial has been set for the 8th, 9th and 10th of March for the bombing of two churches in Spain.
This is a gesture of complicity in the war for total liberation.
Onward with the violent rejection of civilization and its values.

Athens: The Earth Liberation Front takes responsibility for an incendiary attack against a poultry company in solidarity with the prisoners struggle (Greece)

On the evening of the Easter day, 12 to 13 of April, we attacked using 3 incendiary devices with time delay, aiming to destroy the building’s entrance and 3 vehicles (1 truck and 2 vans) belonging to a poultry company in Agios Pavlos Str. in Peristeri, as an action of solidarity with the imprisoned hunger strikers in Greek prisons.
Strength to all those who continue, to the imprisoned members of Conspiracy of Cells of Fire and those who are recovering, having stood with dignity and consistency against the state and in this specific timing, against the left administrators and exponents of authority – who (and this is clear for all those who don’t connive) since the first day they gripped the governmental seats have made their intentions clear, with highlight, so far, the tactical administration of the hunger strike and the eviction of the occupied University’s of Athens deanery.
IMMEDIATE satisfaction of the hunger strikers’ demands:
Abolition of paragraphs 187 and 187A of the counter-terrorist law
Abolition of the hood-law
Abolition of type C prisons
Immediate release of the heavily handicapped Savvas Ksiros
Restriction of DNA use
We chose this specific target as we believe that practical opposition to the non-human animals commercialization industry cannot be excluded from the fight against the state, the capital and every kind of authoritarian superstructure. The practice of detention is the same, equally rejectable whether it has to do with human prisons – “correctional institutions”, concentration camps or if it concerns structures of the meat and animal products industry .
The timing of our attack was no coincidence. It was a moment while the human-mass was still sunk in sloth, having done the previous days their bit towards the Church and the holy ghosts that haunt and define their very existence. Every temple of society, physical or mental, every mold, every stereotype, every habit that reproduces, feeds or just reflects the numerous faces of power, is worth nothing more than being crushed.
Such a habit is the meat eating which has been established the exact same way that the practice of nature looting is established as “normal”, as we notice it taking place in Skouries, Chalkidiki, Italy (NO-TAV) and every place in the world.
Through this action of ours we respond to the call of Chilean comrades, whose actions have given us smiles so many times. Strength to Nataly Casanova, Juan Flores and Guillermo Durán, who are on hunger strike since April 14th.
At the same time, we are sending our own signal of solidarity and complicity to all those charged, imprisoned and suffering repression, having found themselves on the attack lines of ELF and ALF.
We’re sending out a call to every rebelling individual, every affinity group, every direct action cell, in order to intensify the attacks on all fronts, in any way they think suitable, by all means available.

November 1st should be an action day for animal liberation not a partying day for veganism.
At the European side of Istanbul, on 1st November around 2 am, we did series of actions: Two trucks that transport dead chickens are sabotaged. Tires blown, front windows broken, locks glued.
“Viva animal liberation” slogans are also spray painted in same neighborhood. Another fast-food restaurant nearby is attacked, windows smashed.

Hundreds of mink freed in Animal Liberation Front operation against fur farm in Scorzè (Italy)

“ON AUGUST 23 WE OPENED THE CAGES AT THE MINK FARM ON VIA TOSATTI IN SCORZE’ (VE) – ITALY
THERE WERE THREE STRUCTURES AT THE FARM FOR THE KEEPING OF ANIMALS, ONE WAS EMPTY, SO WE WERE BUSY IN THE OTHER TWO WHERE HUNDREDS OF MINK WERE LOCKED IN CAGES. WE REMOVED ALL IDENTIFICATION TAGS, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY OR CLASSIFY ANY ANIMAL WHO WAS RECAPTURED.
WE DAMAGED SEVERAL CAGES AND DESTROYED DOZENS OF METERS OF FENCE AT THE BACK OF THE FARM TO ALLOW THE MINK TO ESCAPE INTO THE FIELDS BETWEEN THICK CROPS AND STREAMS.
SOON FARMS WILL START KILLING THOUSANDS OF MINK FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FUR.
FOR THESE ANIMALS WHO WILL BE SKINNED THERE IS NO OTHER POSSIBILITY THAN TO OPEN THE CAGES. ANIMAL LIBERATION IS NOT EMPTY WORDS BUT A REALITY WHERE THERE IS OPPRESSION.

The company BIOMEDVET RESEARCH GMBH operates an animal testing laboratory at:

Lower Saxony
They are conducting tests on beagles. The laboratory is located at the spot where the infamous animal testing company HARLAN operated a lab. HARLAN left Walsrode at the end of 2009. BIOMEDVET has been there since the beginning of 2010. The animal murder continued, only with other perpetrators. The laboratory is small but for the animals who are dying it does not matter. Murder is murder.
The laboratory is totally secluded in a wooded area. It is well hidden and hardly anyone knows about it. The company has no website. They probably thought they would go undetected. Even in the animal rights scene, the lab may be unknown. Unfortunately it was not possible to liberate the dogs. But we attacked an expensive car on the premises: Paint stripped and glass etched.
Companies like BIOMEDVET must be pulled from anonymity. Our motto: Animal killers, you can not hide! We will find you sooner or later!
Our message to the animal rights scene: Make something out of this! The underground has done its part.
Animal testing is murder. We will resist animal testing and all forms of animal exploitation.
No rest for the animal murderers!

Cartago: Incendiary attack against butcher shop by 'Savages of the Earth – ELF/ALF/FAI/FRI' (Costa Rica)

Various cells have initiated a series of small acts of sabotage in Costa Rica for months now, yet we really didn’t expect that our action would have such a strong impact. It is the first action of this type in this filthy country in many, many years…
For this reason we saw the need to claim responsibility for this action, thinking that many more people would gain strength and shake off the fear that torments us every day, this fear that doesn’t let us go any farther…
The technological control is steadily increasing, that’s why we decided to take control of our lives for a few moments and carry out this action, which is not an end in itself but the means by which we get revenge for our slavery. On Thursday, June 19th, 2014 we particularly attacked a butcher shop in Cartago with an incendiary device. The fire exceeded our expectations, and according to reports in the Press the total damages were more than 40,000 dollars. The following interview was given by the Assembly for the Antispeciesist Action in May 2013 and published by comrades in Spain in October, in the 2nd volume of the anarchist animal liberation zine “Fiera”.
In which context did the Assembly for the Antispeciesist Action in Athens arise? Which are your goals and what are the difficulties you are facing in realizing these goals?
The Assembly for the Antispeciesist Action was formed in 2010 on an individual initiative. We are an anarchist collective whose goal is to spread the word on total liberation. We feel it is important to note that by using the term “total liberation” we do not only refer to the struggle against any form of domination upon humans. We do not recognize any form of human superiority against other species and therefore the struggle for animal self-determination is an integral part of our political identity, as well as the struggle against nature’s exploitation. Our enemy is not only the core of the state mechanism but also the whole technological-industrial complex that considers human, animals and nature to be nothing more than raw material and production resources.
