Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors of heavy metal, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences, including folk music.
After changing their name from the New Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin signed a deal with Atlantic Records that afforded them considerable artistic freedom. Although the group was initially unpopular with critics, they achieved significant commercial success with albums such as Led Zeppelin (1969), Led Zeppelin II (1969), Led Zeppelin III (1970), Led Zeppelin IV (1971), Houses of the Holy (1973), and Physical Graffiti (1975). Their fourth album, which features the track "Stairway to Heaven", is among the most popular and influential works in rock music, and it helped to secure the group's popularity.
A Zeppelin was a type of rigid airship named after the German Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin who pioneered rigid airship development at the beginning of the 20th century. Zeppelin's ideas were first formulated in 1874 and developed in detail in 1893. They were patented in Germany in 1895 and in the United States in 1899. After the outstanding success of the Zeppelin design, the word zeppelin came to be commonly used to refer to all rigid airships. Zeppelins were first flown commercially in 1910 by Deutsche Luftschiffahrts-AG (DELAG), the world's first airline in revenue service. By mid-1914, DELAG had carried over 10,000 fare-paying passengers on over 1,500 flights. During World War I the German military made extensive use of Zeppelins as bombers and scouts, killing over 500 people in bombing raids in Britain.
"Lotta Love" is a song written by Neil Young and recorded by Nicolette Larson in 1978. It reached No. 8 on Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 chart in February 1979 and also reached No. 1 on the Easy Listening chart. "Lotta Love" was also a hit in Australia (No. 11) and New Zealand (No. 22).
Linda Ronstadt, who had sung back-up for Young with Larson, has stated that it was at her [i.e. Ronstadt's] suggestion that Larson recorded "Lotta Love" and that Larson's producer thanked Ronstadt by having a top-of-the-line sound system installed in her Mercedes convertible.
However, Larson's own recollection was that the suggestion she record "Lotta Love" originated with Neil Young, with whom she had formed a personal relationship while backing him vocally on American Stars 'n Bars. The publishers of Neil Young News quoted Larson as saying:
Neil Young did in fact cut a version of "Lotta Love" himself for his Comes a Time album. Larson provided background vocals for the album but did not sing on its "Lotta Love" track, a spare version which emphasized the song's melancholy.
"Whole Lotta Love" is a song by English hard rock band Led Zeppelin. It is the opening track on the band's second album, Led Zeppelin II, and was released in the United States, several countries in Europe, and Japan as a single; as with other Led Zeppelin songs, no single was released in the United Kingdom. The US release became their first hit single, being certified Gold on 13 April 1970, having sold one million copies. It reached number one in Germany, and number four in the Netherlands. Parts of the song were adapted from Willie Dixon's "You Need Love", recorded by Muddy Waters in 1962; originally uncredited to Dixon, a lawsuit in 1985 was settled with a payment to Dixon and credit on subsequent releases.
In 2004, the song was ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and in March 2005, Q magazine placed "Whole Lotta Love" at number three in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. It was placed 11 on a similar list by Rolling Stone. In 2009 it was named the third greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1. Already part of their live repertoire, "Whole Lotta Love" saw its first official release on the LP Led Zeppelin II on 22 October 1969 (Atlantic LP #8236). In 2014, listeners to BBC Radio 2 voted "Whole Lotta Love" as containing the greatest guitar riff of all time.

Led Zeppelin : Greatest hits - The Very Best of Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin was produced by Jimmy Page and engineered by Glyn Johns, both of whom had known each other since teenagers in the suburb of Epsom. According to Page, "The first album is a live album, it really is, and it's done intentionally in that way. It's got overdubs on it, but the original tracks are live. Page reportedly used natural room ambience to enhance the reverb and recording texture on the record, demonstrating the innovations in sound recording he had learned during his session days. Up until the late 1960s, most music producers placed microphones directly in front of the amplifiers and drums. For Led Zeppelin, Page developed the idea of placing an additional microphone some distance from the amplifier (as far as twenty feet) and then recording the balance between the two. By...

Rolling Stone Magazine described Led Zeppelin as the “heaviest band of all time” and the biggest band of the 70’s, for their ability to rock across any number of musical styles from reggae, soul and funk, to Celtic, classical and country. Dubbed the Prince of Darkness, Ozzie Osborne steered Black Sabbath through their heyday in the 1970’s then left to pursue a solo career, marry wife Sharon and launch Ozfest and the reality TV show The Osbornes. Alice Cooper beat Ozzie to the Living Legend honor by two years. And at ten months his senior, the American shock rocker seems to have arrived at the big 60 in much better physical shape. That could be because the hard rocking persona he presented on stage has only ever been an act. We also look at the stellar careers of KISS, Aerosmith, AC-DC and ...

I hope that it's forgivable. 0:37 The Song Remains the Same 5:53 (The Rover) Sick Again 13:51 Nobody's Fault But Mine 21:42 Over the Hills and Far Away 30:32 Since I've Been Loving You 39:31 No Quarter 1:09:56 Ten Years Gone 1:22:31 The Battle of Evermore (Featuring JPJ on backing vocals) 1:29:41 Going to...

Led Zeppelin at the Gladsaxe Teen Club in Gladsaxe, Denmark March 17, 1969 I know this is heavily circulated but this is always a very fun listen.. However I can say this video is unique in that I boosted the bass a bit.. ;) Also instead of just downloading this from YouTube, I used the original bootleg and video, just for the sake of quality. 0:11 Communication Breakdown 2:58 Dazed and Confused 12:13 Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 19:01 How Many More Times
Led Zeppelin in Frankfurt, Germany, on June 30th, 1980. Arguably the best concert of the Tour Over Europe 1980, and one of my personal favorites. 0:00 The Train Kept a-Rollin' 2:57 Nobody's Fault But Mine 8:51 Black Dog 15:16 In the Evening 23:55 The Rain Song 32:10 Hot Dog 36:10 All My Love 42:35 Trampled Under Foot 51:22 Since I've Been Loving You 1:01:36 Achilles Last Stand 1:11:46 White Summer/Black Mountain Side 1:17:08 (Jimmy can't hear himself play) 1:19:00 Kashmir 1:29:50 Stairway to Heaven 1:42:57 Rock and Roll 1:47:42 Money (That's What I Want) 1:53:03 Whole Lotta Love [Medley]
The first known recording for each song from Led Zeppelin I. An important note, Black Mountain Side is incorrectly listed as being played on January 10th and 12th, 1969 as a part of White Summer. After listening to the recordings, it was not played until the January 26th recording in Boston. Led Zeppelin at the Knebworth Festival, on August 11th, 1979. I felt it was necessary to include the date in the title because this is the Knebworth concert that wasn't remastered on the Led Zeppelin DVD. The video footage is from the Return of the Dinosaurs bootleg. The only available (and therefore best) complete footage of the concert. 1:00 The Song Remains the Same* 6:11 Celebration Day** 9:46 Black Dog 15:22 Nobody's Fault But Mine 21:25 Over the Hills and Far Away** 27:35 Misty Mountain Hop* 32:53 Since I've Been Loving You 41:42 No Quarter [medley]* 56:45 Hot Dog 1:00:45 The Rain Song 1:08:30 White Summer/Black Mountain Side 1:14:20 Kashmir 1:23:44 Trampled Underfoot 1:30:25 Sick Again** 1:35:37 Achilles Last Stand 1:45:25 Guitar Solo 1:51:30 In the Evening 1:59:08 Stairway to Heav...
