The Nice were an English progressive rock band active in the late 1960s. They blended rock, jazz and classical music and were keyboardist Keith Emerson's first commercially successful band.
The group was formed in 1967 by Emerson, Lee Jackson, David O'List and Ian Hague to back soul singer P. P. Arnold. After replacing Hague with Brian Davison, the group set out on their own, quickly developing a strong live following. The group's sound was centred on Emerson's Hammond organ showmanship and abuse of the instrument, and their radical rearrangements of classical music themes and Bob Dylan songs.
The band achieved commercial success with an instrumental rearrangement of Leonard Bernstein's "America", following which O'List left the group. The remaining members carried on as a trio, releasing several albums, before Emerson decided to split the band in early 1970 to form Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The group briefly reformed in 2002 for a series of concerts.
Nice (/ˈniːs/, French pronunciation: [nis]; Niçard Occitan: Niça [classical norm] or Nissa [nonstandard], Italian: Nizza or Nizza Marittima, Greek: Νίκαια, Latin: Nicaea) is the fifth most populous city in France, after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse, and it is the capital of the Alpes Maritimes département. The urban area of Nice extends beyond the administrative city limits, with a population of about 1 million on an area of 721 km2 (278 sq mi). Located in the Côte d'Azur area on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast and the second-largest city in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region after Marseille. Nice is about 8 miles (13 km) from the principality of Monaco, and its airport is a gateway to the principality as well.
The city is called Nice la Belle (Nissa La Bella in Niçard), which means Nice the Beautiful, which is also the title of the unofficial anthem of Nice, written by Menica Rondelly in 1912.
The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack is the 1967 debut album by the English psychedelic rock and progressive rock group The Nice. It is considered one of the first albums in the latter genre.
The name Emerlist Davjack is a pseudonym created by combining the last names of the four members of the group; Keith Emerson, David O'List, Brian Davison, and Lee Jackson.
The album was promoted by a sampler (Featured on the Castle Communications 2000 box set "Here Come The Nice" (CMETD 055-1)) featuring a commentary by John Peel, which included the following comments:
1967 was a strange year for pop music with groups experimenting with new sounds and bouncing on and off bandwagons with dizzying speed and agility. They were calling themselves ridiculous names and regretting it shortly. The Nice came together in a void and will be here when the others are in pantomime in Wolverhampton.
The cover, photographed by Gered Mankowitz, shows members of the band apparently unclad except for being wrapped in cellophane.
Thought can refer to the ideas or arrangements of ideas that result from thinking, the act of producing thoughts, or the process of producing thoughts. Although thought is a fundamental human activity familiar to everyone, there is no generally accepted agreement as to what thought is or how it is created. Thoughts may or may not arise in the mind from the product of subconscious brain processing.
Because thought underlies many human actions and interactions, understanding its physical and metaphysical origins, processes, and effects has been a longstanding goal of many academic disciplines including psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, artificial intelligence, biology, sociology and cognitive science.
Thinking allows humans to make sense of, interpret, represent or model the world they experience, and to make predictions about that world. It is therefore helpful to an organism with needs, objectives, and desires as it makes plans or otherwise attempts to accomplish those goals.

A black and white clip of The Nice, performing Bob Dylan's Country Pie at the Song Days Festival in Essen, Germany, on October11th, 1969. I know this track from their Five Bridges album, but this version seems a little slower and with just a bit more swing. The sound is mixed a little in favour of Emerson, with Lee Jackson's vocals being lowest in the mix (probably few complaints there right?) and the eternally underrated Brian Davidson's drums being pretty audible at all times. Love that overdriven organ tone. I quite liked what The Nice had going on, with Davidson's jazzy drumming having a swing and, dare I say groove, missing from Carl Palmer's technical chatter. Lee Jackson's elastic Vox bass tone was a million miles away from the more conventional Fender bass tones of the day. Emerso...

Watch Don show you exactly how to answer "Tell Me About Yourself." Tell me about yourself is one of the toughest interview questions. This is an open-ended question, but really what the interviewer wants to hear is about your recent work experience and your journey that brought you to this point in your career. Why don't they just ask that question instead? Because they want to see where you will go with an open-ended question. Your answer to "tell me about yourself" tells the interviewer where your mind is. If you start telling him that you are a Cleveland Browns fan, then you are way off base with what he wants to hear and you have just made your first mistake. What do you want the interviewer to know about you when you leave, your work experience or your personal interests? I'm...

This is the original monaural mix of the The Nice's 1967 debut "The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack". The monaural version of this album was deleted after the first pressing due to improved mono/stereo compatibility around 1969 or 1970. This version is markedly different from the more common stereo mix and some say the mono is superior to the stereo. Many of the mixes on the mono version have a raw aggression that there stereo does not. Brian Davison's drums are more present in this mix and give more power the instrumental tracks "Rondo" and "War and Peace". There are some additional keyboard tracks in the mid part of the title track that were missing from all stereo mixes, a longer instrumental fade on "Bonnie K" as well as better mixed vocals on "Tantalising Maggie" and "The Cry of Eu...

She's got everything she needs,
She's an artist, she don't look back.
She's got everything she needs,
She's an artist, she don't look back.
She can take the dark out of the nighttime
And paint the daytime black.
You will start out standing
Proud to steal her anything she sees.
You will start out standing
Proud to steal her anything she sees.
But you will wind up peeking through her keyhole
Down upon your knees.
She never stumbles,
She's got no place to fall.
She never stumbles,
She's got no place to fall.
She's nobody's child,
The Law can't touch her at all.
She wears an Egyptian ring
That sparkles before she speaks.
She wears an Egyptian ring
That sparkles before she speaks.
She's a hypnotist collector,
You are a walking antique.
Bow down to her on Sunday,
Salute her when her birthday comes.
Bow down to her on Sunday,
Salute her when her birthday comes.
For Halloween buy her a trumpet
And for Christmas, give her a drum.
