Phnom Penh (/pəˈnÉ”Ë?m ˈpÉ›n/ or /ˈnÉ’m ˈpÉ›n/;Khmer: ភ្នំពáŸ?ញ, Khmer pronunciation: [pÊ°num peɲ]) is the capital and largest city of Cambodia. Located on the banks of the Tonlé Sap and Mekong River, Phnom Penh has been the national capital since French colonization of Cambodia, and has grown to become the nation's center of economic and industrial activities, as well as the center of security, politics, cultural heritage, and diplomacy of Cambodia.
Once known as the "Pearl of Asia," it was considered one of the loveliest French-built cities in Indochina in the 1920s. Phnom Penh, along with Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, are significant global and domestic tourist destinations for Cambodia. Founded in 1434, the city is noted for its beautiful and historical architecture and attractions. There are a number of surviving French colonial buildings scattered along the grand boulevards.
Situated on the banks of the Tonlé Sap, Mekong and Bassac rivers, the Phnom Penh metropolitan area is home to about 2.2 million of Cambodia's population of over 14.8 million, up from about 1.9 million in 2008.

Street food is ready-to-eat food or drink sold by a hawker, or vendor, in a street or other public place, such as at a market or fair. It is often sold from a portable food booth, food cart, or food truck and meant for immediate consumption. Some street foods are regional, but many have spread beyond their region of origin. Most street foods are classed as both finger food and fast food, and are cheaper on average than restaurant meals. According to a 2007 study from the Food and Agriculture Organization, 2.5 billion people eat street food every day.
Today, people may purchase street food for a number of reasons, such as to get flavorful food for a reasonable price in a sociable setting, to experience ethnic cuisines, or for nostalgia.
Small fried fish were a street food in ancient Greece, however, Theophrastus held the custom of street food in low regard. Evidence of a large number of street food vendors were discovered during the excavation of Pompeii. Street food was widely consumed by poor urban residents of ancient Rome whose tenement homes did not have ovens or hearths. Here, chickpea soup with bread and grain paste were common meals. In ancient China, street food generally catered to the poor, however, wealthy residents would send servants to buy street food and bring it back for them to eat in their homes.

Travel video about destination Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Phnom Penh is the reawakened capital of Cambodia and former Land of the Khmer, now a wonderful place with all the charm of a bygone age. Travel in Cambodia at the riverside in Phnom Penh city. It's Phnom Penh city lifestyle along the riverside park in the afternoon. It's a really fresh day walking at the river and see the lives of people there. Mostly people, Khmer and foreigners walking for fun, some exercising, some selling foods & drinks, some playing soccers, some playing shuttlecock. It's a peaceful life in Phnom Penh city, the kingdom of Cambodia. Relaxing day and feeling fresh to be there on the weekend when you don't go anywhere. Thanks for watch video on my youtube channel.
