Board of Control can mean:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. The board was formed in December 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. It is a consortium of state cricket associations and the state associations select their representatives who in turn elect the BCCI officials.
The BCCI logo is derived from the emblem of the Order of the Star of India, the Indian national emblem during the colonial period.
In 1912, an all-India cricket team visited England for the first time, sponsored and captained by the Maharaja of Patiala. In 1926, two representatives of the Calcutta Cricket Club travelled to London to attend meetings of the Imperial Cricket Conference, the predecessor to the current International Cricket Council. Although technically not an official representative of Indian cricket, they were allowed to attend by Lord Harris, chairman of the conference. The outcome of the meeting was the MCC's decision to send a team to India, led by Arthur Gilligan, who had captained England in The Ashes.
India, officially the Republic of India (Bhārat Gaṇarājya), is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people, and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the south-west, and the Bay of Bengal on the south-east, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west;China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north-east; and Myanmar (Burma) and Bangladesh to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; in addition, India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.
Home to the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation and a region of historic trade routes and vast empires, the Indian subcontinent was identified with its commercial and cultural wealth for much of its long history. Four religions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism—originated here, whereas Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam arrived in the 1st millennium CE and also shaped the region's diverse culture. Gradually annexed by and brought under the administration of the British East India Company from the early 18th century and administered directly by the United Kingdom after the Indian Rebellion of 1857, India became an independent nation in 1947 after a struggle for independence that was marked by non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi.
Cricket is the most popular sport in India. It is played by many people throughout the country. The Indian national cricket team won the 1983 Cricket World Cup, the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2011 Cricket World Cup, the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, and shared the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka. Domestic competitions include the Ranji Trophy, the Duleep Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Deodhar Trophy, the Irani Trophy and the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy. In addition, BCCI conducts the Indian Premier League, a Twenty20 competition.
India became a member of the “elite club” joining Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand and the West Indies in June 1932. India's first match in Lords against England attracted a massive crowd of 24,000 people as well as the King of the United Kingdom, who was also the Emperor of India
The major and defining event in the history of Indian cricket during this period was the Partition of India following full independence from the British Raj in 1947.Vikhyat gupta was the first person in cricket history to score a triple ton in his debut match in an odi.

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the Board of Control for Cricket in India to allow Bihar to play Ranji Trophy and other domestic cricket tournaments. Bihar last played in Ranji Trophy plate group in 2003-04 season. MS Dhoni was the captain.
The Supreme Court directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India to allow the state team of Bihar to compete in India's premier domestic competition, Ranji Trophy, and other domestic tournaments from next season onwards. Bihar was not being allowed by the Board to participate in state level competitions since 2000. The SC said that it is in the interest of cricket that Bihar be allowed to participate. But they were granted the full membership after the Committee of Administrators (COA) appointed by the SC placed the state in the list of its full members, in the all new memorandum of association and rules and regulations of the BCCI. So today a panel set up by the court has said the board should be sacked for non-compliance. Including its President Anurag Thakur and Secretary Ajay Shirke.
