Indie rock buried in fuzz and hiss.
Iran take ultra catchy pop, and drag it through the detritus of lo-fi noise rock, picking up an ungodly assortment of buzz and blur and scuzz. Imagine a Pavement record on Siltbreeze. Or Sebadoh, if Lou Barlow was a jaded fuck instead of a sappy romantic. Or old Smog covering Skullflower. Or Harry Pussy playing Built To Spill. A beautifully cacophonous mess.
Iran play damaged folk music, bombarded on all sides by a wild assortment of squeals and shrieks, static and hiss, and speaker clogging grit. Huge and slowly shifting, dronescapes that evolve into perfect little pop songs and then explode into jagged shards of high end skree. Iran are psychedelic and textural and noisey and totally catchy.
Add an unhealthy obsession with Brian Wilson, Roman Polanski, indie rock, and Norwegian black metal, a handful of disasterously deafening live shows, and a charmingly fractured obstinance, and you've got Iran. Hardcore hook-filled low fidelity un-pop noise. Pop. Plus fucking wicked tiger cover art.

Hearts of Iron
Hearts of Iron is a grand strategy computer game developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Strategy First, set in the years 1936-1948. In the game players can control any one nation as World War II unfolds. It was released for Windows-compatible PCs in 2002. A Macintosh version was also released by Virtual Programming. The lead game programmer was Johan Andersson.

MTA Records
More Than Alot (MTA) Records is an independent record label founded by Chase & Status in 2009, specialising in "exceptional" music. The label releases a large variety of music including rap, soul, drum and bass, dubstep and deep house. It has played a pivotal role in the success of Nero, Redlight, 16bit, Ben Pearce among others, and many of its releases have charted in the United Kingdom.
On 19 February 2015, the label competed against Hospital Records, Black Butter Records and 3 Beat Records in BBC Radio 1Xtra's "Best of British Soundclash". Hosted by MistaJam, the event served as an unofficial sequel to Red Bull's Culture Clash 2014 (also hosted by MistaJam). MTA won, having received the most Twitter votes from listeners.

Hearts of Iron IV
Hearts of Iron IV is a computer game being developed by Paradox Development Studio. It is the sequel to Hearts of Iron III and part of the Hearts of Iron series of grand strategy games focusing on World War II.
The formal announcement of the game in January 2014 indicated an intended release date of the first quarter of 2015, later postponed to the second quarter of 2015. At E3 2015, Johan Andersson confirmed that the game will be pushed back from its original release window, most likely to the first quarter of 2016. This is an attempt to resolve several issues encountered with the game. However, Johan Andersson later confirmed that the game would not be released in the first quarter of 2016. The game used the code name Project Armstrong while in development. As of early February, 2016, the game has been approved for beta.
In a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" event, Paradox manager Johan Andersson promised better AI and accessibility compared to Hearts of Iron III, and that the game would not have a rigid, forced game-progression but would feature sandbox-style gameplay. He also stated that Hearts of Iron IV would be available on the Linux operating system.

Despite warnings from some friends and family members as well the German government about traveling to Iran, the Ivan family, a family of four with German, Romanian and French ancestry, came to Iran and traveled around the country in five months. The trip has helped them become familiarized with the Iranian culture and the true image of Iran and the Iranian people. My name's Michael and I'm the Marketing Manager for Wild Frontiers. I'm here at the magnificent site of Persepolis in Iran. I've been in Iran for two weeks now and so far I've been enchanted by this fascinating country.
CITIES
The capital Tehran is most people's starting point, and in this busy city you can see ostentatious ornaments from the royal household in the crown jewels museum, and wander around the Shah's old residence, Golestan Palace. Just north of Tehran you can visit the Elburz Mountains for skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer.
But the real highlights lie elsewhere. In the off-the-beaten-track city of Yazd you'll find a cityscape dotted with the ingenious wind tunnels -- which could be described as the world's first air-conditioning system - the ancient Zoroastrian site of the Towers of Silence, the magnificent Friday Mosque and a number of beautiful palaces and gardens.
Shiraz meanwhile is a lovely university town, known as the city of poets, wine, literature and flowers, and is a real delight. I particularly loved visiting the atmospheric tomb of the Persian poet Hafez. In the evenings it has a magical atmosphere as people gather to read poetry and celebrate the life of this revered poet. Shiraz is also blessed with numerous picturesque mosques and beautiful gardens.
The jewel in the Persian crown is undoubtedly the beautiful city of Esfahan, which has one of the largest squares in the world in the breathtaking Naqsh Jahan Square and probably the most stunning Islamic architecture found anywhere. Esfahan is unbelievably picturesque, with its famed bridges and lively bazaars.
ANCIENT SITES
Iran has a long and rich history, with the Persian Empire at one point ruling over 44% of the world's population. The country is home to some world-class archaeological sites, including the rock-carved tombs of Nagsh e Rostam, where Darius the great is buried, and the spectacular Achamaenid palace complex at Persepolis. This ancient palace was built by Darius the Great to celebrate events such as the Persian New Year, when representatives from the four corners of the empire would congregate. This vast site merits at least a couple of hours to explore the ruins and bas reliefs.
SCENERY
But it's not only about the cities and ancient sites, the scenery of Iran is an unexpected highlight. From beautiful picnic spots such as the Murgon Waterfalls, to fertile valleys in the Bavanat Mountains, where you can encounter Kashqai nomads and see a way of life that has changed little over centuries. In the Dena mountains around Yasuj you'll find an alpine scenery of snow-capped mountains, lakes and streams. It is well worth spending some time away from the better-known cultural sites to explore this lesser-known side of Iran. It really is a beautiful country.
THE PEOPLE
The people of Iran are another real highlight, being welcoming and keen to engage in conversation about everything from politics to football. You are likely to be surrounded by schoolkids asking you questions, offered tea and invited to share in picnics with the locals pretty much wherever you go.
If ever a people were misrepresented by a regime it would be the Iranians. Thanks to a baby boom in the 80's, over 60% of its 70 million population are aged under 30. This generation is well-educated, worldly, and exposed to global media through the internet. Walking around the streets -- which are incidentally very safe - this certainly feels like a nation on the cusp of change.
So forget about any preconceptions you may have about safety, security, or the welcome you'll receive in Iran. The city of Kashan prospered under the Safavid, Shah Abbas The First, who designed the Bagh-E-Fin Garden according to a model of a Persian paradise garden. Outside the city, the settlement mound of Tepe Sialk uncovered finds that can be traced back to the seventh millennium B.C. At the time of Shah Abbas, Kashan was fortified with a double city wall that contained more than six thousand buildings, plus forty mosques and three Koran schools. The Koran Gate leads to the city of Shiraz, a city of love, roses and poetry. Famous Persian poets once lived here and created works of great beauty. Today their mausoleums are visited with much reverence, such as the Hafiz Tomb. For fifty eight years, Ionic stonemasons, Babylonian brick makers, Median and Egyptian goldsmiths, worked in Persepolis, they created what was an indelible symbol of the Achaemenid Empire. The highest level contained the royal residences with living rooms, a fire temple and harem. Iran is still a land of desert, palaces and mosques, a country that is timeless, captivating and historic.

Its biggest transformation in its recent history was due to religious leader, Ayatollah Khomeyni, who in 1979 established the Iranian Republic, a theocracy within the teachings of the Koran. The Saad-Abad Palace complex was the first summer residence of the Qadjarian kings. Following several extensions, from the 1920’s eighteen palaces were used by Reza Shah Pahlevi and his family. The city of Kashan prospered under the Safavid, Shah Abbas The First, who designed the Bagh-E-Fin Garden according to a model of a Persian paradise garden. Outside the city, the settlement mound of Tepe Sialk uncovered finds that can be traced back to the seventh millennium B.C. At the time of Shah Abbas, Kashan was fortified with a double city wall that contained more than six thousand buildings, plus forty mosques and three Koran schools. The Koran Gate leads to the city of Shiraz, a city of love, roses and poetry. Famous Persian poets once lived here and created works of great beauty. Today their mausoleums are visited with much reverence, such as the Hafiz Tomb. For fifty eight years, Ionic stonemasons, Babylonian brick makers, Median and Egyptian goldsmiths, worked in Persepolis, they created what was an indelible symbol of the Achaemenid Empire. The highest level contained the royal residences with living rooms, a fire temple and harem. Iran is still a land of desert, palaces and mosques, a country that is timeless, captivating and historic.

Dareios The Great began construction of Persepolis shortly after he had attained power as Third Emperor of Persia. Although he already had two capital cities, Pasargadae and Susa, he wanted to present to the world a third impressive city. During several decades of construction the glorious total work of Persian-Achaemenid art was achieved. Todays ruins, former residence of the Achaemenid Empire, are one of the greatest and most impressive palace complexes in the world. From the Middle Ages, Shiraz had a well-developed network of quantum, underground drains that continue to nourish a number of gardens. The Mongols left Shiraz undamaged but the Afghans conquered, destroyed and looted the city until finally a Kurd, Karim Khan Zand, established a trading centre there, protected by a citadel, which became the capital of his empire. After Teheran and Yazd, Kerman has the third largest community of followers of the teachings of Zarathustra, with attendant fire temples. The Ganj Ali Khan Complex has a large courtyard with a water pool and is framed by arcade passages, a mosque, caravanserai, bath house and bazaar. Shiite Islam became the state religion and several golden dynasties followed until Persia became an empire with a long and remarkable history.

With its historic centre, Esfahan is situated on the banks of the Zayandeh Rud River and is a gem of ancient Persia. In the centre of the historic city centre is the modest Pillar Halls Mosque which is thought to have been built above a fire temple. In around 1087, Seljuk vizier, Nizam Ol-Molk, had the pillar hall and its many small brick domes, completed. Due to a fire lit by the Assassins in 1121 A.D., the original mosque was destroyed. Following the death of Shah Abbas, around thirty thousand Christian Armenians settled in the Julfa district where they built the Savior Cathedral. Its interior features the history of the Christianisation of Armenia that is depicted on several illustrated panels created by the Holy Gregor. The grandeur of Islamic architecture is reflected in Emam Square, the central square of the Safavid Era, known as "The image of the world". It is seven times larger than the Piazza San Marco in Venice. To the south the square is lined by a domed structure which for some years has been known as the Emam Khomeini Mosque, perfectly aligned toward Mecca. Esfahan is an architectural work of art and today one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I thought I knew what a good hospitality is like.. until I came to Iran.
"Why go to Iran?" This is a question people often asked when I tell them I was going there. I would have ask the same if it wasn't the words of mouth I heard over the years about how awesome Iran is, how incredibly friendly the people are, and how off the beaten path the whole country is.
The first day I arrived in Tehran, I was walking around the Bazaar and we were approached by several locals asking what we think about Iran, gave us free tea and cakes, and allowed us to roam their warehouses without asking for anything in return. This similar scenario happened a lot more throughout my 2 weeks time in Iran and really got me thinking about how misinformed I was about the country. It is very safe to travel in Iran, easy to do it independently as the locals will go out of their ways to help you, and the people are one of the friendliest people in the world. Not to mention how beautiful the landscape is, how stunning all the attractions are, and how off the beaten track the whole country is.
Iran is truly a special country that with restore your heart and soul and I hope that this video shows at least half of the warmth I got from the amazing people in Iran.

Cloudio is planning on writing a travel guide of Tehran. This documentary follows these two friends on a routine day in Tehran and provides an interesting perspective of life in Iran’s capital city.

In April 2013, I will begin my solo motorbike adventure starting in Perth, Western Australia and ending in Tallinn, Estonia.
The journey is expected to take 12 months crossing some of the most remote and culturally rich locations in the world.
I have previously travelled to nearly 50 countries, most of which are 2nd and 3rd world countries.
I choose these countries because it is there that I more often experience the vividly intense nature of life & death and the world’s most natural beauty.
I am what you could call a YOYO - Year on, year off.
I work as a FIFO for a year, saving up all I can to then go travelling for around 12 months.
I then return back to mining to save up for another travel venture.
On this particular trip I will be using an adventure motorbike customised specifically for this journey. I will also be taking my camera kitted out with 14-24mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses.
I intend to capture my journey through the lens of my camera with the end goal to produce a coffee table photo book.
I am also inviting people to take part in my journey by giving me photo challenges along the way.
The photo challenges people give me are a way to directly be involved, without having to leave home. You can direct me to take any image you please so long as it is not too criminal, too dangerous or too financially draining.
Essentially, the photo challenges will help guide my adventure by influencing where I travel along the way.
I have travelled for many years and I have already broken my neck once on a motorbike and am extremely aware of issues surrounding rider safety.
I will be travelling with a special GPS device, which will allow me to be located by GPS on any map, and more importantly, it has an SOS function for emergencies.
The countries which I intend to travel are;
Australia - Timor - Indonesia - Malaysia - Borneo - Thailand - Cambodia - Vietnam - Loas - Bhutan - Nepal - India - India (Tibet) - Pakistan - (then one of three possible routes) - The Stans or Iran to Turkey or Oman to North Africa - Estonia.
This trip is a once in a lifetime motorcycle photographic adventure, and I can’t wait to get started.
