Syrtos, along with its relative kalamatianos is one of the most popular dances throughout Greece and are frequently danced by Greeks and various nationalities worldwide. They are very popular in social gatherings, weddings and festivals. Syrtos and kalamatianos are line dances, done with the dancers in a curving line holding hands.
Saint Basil Greek Orthodox church sponsored their Second Annual “San Juan Capistrano Greek festival” on Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28, 2014 in San Juan Capistrano, California, an awesome Greek festival with Live Greek music entertainment by the beautiful and talented Aphrodite V., outstanding singer Takis Kokotas S., featuring additional talented entertainers Alekos G., on Bouzouki and Dimitris on Keyboard. DJ music provided by Peter L., during break periods of the live band, event hosted Cooking classes, Cultural Exhibits, Church tours, Greek Folk Dance performances, Greek dancing lessons by John B., Greek Gourmet variety foods and Pastries were Delicious, as well as various merchants displaying jewelry, and various other miscellaneous merchandise. Greek festival
A Greek festival or Greek Fest is an annual celebration of Greek culture presented by many ethnic Greek American communities and organization in the United States and Canada, particularly Greek Orthodox churches. Typically, these events are intended for attendance by the general public. Attendees can sample Greek music, cuisine, and dance, typically performed in traditional dress. Such events are often fundraisers for Orthodox churches of the Greek Archdiocese. These Greek festivals originate from celebrations in Greece for religious holidays, such as, Greek Orthodox Easter and non-religious holidays, such as, the Festival of Flowers (Protomayia).
Greek foods often served at Greek festivals include Lamb, Greek salad with olives and Feta cheese, Dolmades, Spanakopita, Tiropita, and Greek Coffee. Sweets include Baklava, Loukoumades, Diples, Galaktoboureko, Koulorakia, and Kourabiedes.
In a modern context, the term "Greek Fest" is also used to refer to the celebrations or festivities organized and held by college/university fraternities and sororities (Greek system organizations) in North America.

The Greek Dance & Choral group Yefira performed their award-winning suite of dances, in pre-WWII costumes. Accomplished musicians Orestis Koletsos, Jaime Smith, and Dan Ziagos provided the live musical accompaniment. Overall an Outstanding event for an entire family to enjoy!! This was the Last Greek Festival of the 2016 Season, which was really Superb!! ΟΠΑ

The festival is more than food: a gift shop, colorful dancers and authentic Greek music, entertainment for young and old, curiosity or just plain gastronomic delight.
It is an opportunity to Be Greek for a day! Or three! This festival runs for 3 days a year around the third week in September
Good Food, Good Wine and a variety of drinks, entertainment fun and games, Good Music and dancing and finally shopping.

The Galataboureko is a must for those who love custard desserts.Or try some fresh, warm loukoumathes drizzled with honey and nuts. To drink we offer you coffee, Greek coffee, tea and frappes.
Visit with friends in the outdoor taverna cafe for a thick cup of coffee that they brew in little copper vessels.
