Crashed Ice (Red Bull Crashed Ice) is a world tour in the winter extreme sporting event, ice cross downhill (or downhill ice cross), which involves downhill skating in an urban environment, on a track which includes steep turns and high vertical drops. The series was created and is managed by energy drinks company Red Bull. It is similar to ski cross and snowboard cross, except with ice skates on an ice track, instead of skis or snowboards on a snow track.
Competitors, having advanced from one of the tryouts in the prior months, race in heats of four skaters, with the top two advancing from each heat. Racers, typically ice hockey players, outfitted as such, speed down the course’s turns, berms, and jumps.
From 2010 onwards a points system was introduced. After the season, the skater with the most points is crowned the world champion. Points are awarded to the top 100 racers. Points are awarded starting with 1000 for the winner, after that 800, 600, 500 and decreasing to 0.5 for place 100.
Walter B. McGrail (October 19, 1888 – March 19, 1970) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 150 films between 1916 and 1951. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and died in San Francisco, California, at the age of 81.
Mary Doran (September 8, 1910 – September 6, 1995) was an American film actress. She appeared in more than 80 films between 1927 and 1944.
Hoot Gibson (August 6, 1892 – August 23, 1962) was an American rodeo champion and a pioneer cowboy film actor, director and producer.
Born Edmund Richard Gibson in Tekamah, Nebraska, he learned to ride a horse while still a very young boy. His family moved to California when he was seven years old. As a teenager he worked with horses on a ranch, which led to competition on bucking broncos at area rodeos. Given the nickname "Hoot Owl" by co-workers, the name evolved to just "Hoot".
In 1910, film director Francis Boggs was looking for experienced cowboys to appear in his silent film short, Pride of the Range. Gibson and another future star of Western films, Tom Mix, were hired. Gibson made a second film for Boggs in 1911. After a deranged employee killed Boggs, director Jack Conway hired Gibson to appear in his 1912 Western, His Only Son.
Acting for Gibson was then a minor sideline, and he continued competing in rodeos to make a living. In 1912, he won the all-around championship at the famous Pendleton Round-Up in Pendleton, Oregon and the steer roping World Championship at the Calgary Stampede.
Billy the Kid (born Henry McCarty; also known as William H. Bonney) (September 17, 1859 – July 14, 1881) was an American Old West gunfighter who participated in New Mexico's Lincoln County War and is known to have killed eight men.
His first arrest was for stealing food in late 1875, and five months later he was arrested again for stealing clothing and firearms. His escape from jail two days later and flight from New Mexico Territory into Arizona Territory made him both an outlaw and a fugitive. After murdering a blacksmith during an altercation in August 1877, Bonney became a wanted man in Arizona Territory and returned to New Mexico, where he joined a group of cattle rustlers. He took part in the Lincoln County War and joined the Regulators, making him a well-known outlaw in the region. In April 1878, however, the Regulators killed three men, including Lincoln County Sheriff William J. Brady and one of his deputies. Bonney and two other Regulators were later charged with killing all three men.

At 31 years old, I believe there is still much more in life to experience. I truly believe that whatever you set your mind on doing and work hard on doing it, then you can complete it. I tell people, "Age is just a number, like on a jersey, it is the player that makes the number, not the number that makes the player." Please watch my video and go to www.create.it and vote for me to go compete in this year's Red Bull Crashed Ice 2014. I skate to give HOPE to everyone and any winnings will go 100% to charity! Thank you! (NOTE: typo... I fractured L1 on New Year's Eve 2012/2013, not 2013/2014).

The best of Britain's amateur fighting talent met at the Wembley Empire Pool for the ABA Championships. In the bantamweight final, Bennyworth met Rudkin. And when the points were added up, Bennyworth was acclaimed the winner. Victor of the middleweight final was Alf Matthews, seen here in combat with Derek Richards. The light-heavyweight championship provided the evening's light relief. Contenders Hendrickson, born in the West Indies, and Dave Paley, happily slugged away at each other. It was Hendrickson who won the title.
