The Crime Fiction Alphabet meme has been run 3 times in the past 4 years on this blog and has proved both challenging and popular.
Some contributors decided on a pattern for their posts.
For example Bill at Mysteries and More from Saskatchewan decided he would put up 26 mystery author profiles of authors whose books he had read. Yesterday he wrote a summary post.
Margot at Confessions from Mystery Novelist decided she would list protagonists used by mystery novelists.
I decided I would select from books/authors I have read and reviewed this year.

Why MYSTERIES? Because that is the genre I read.
Why PARADISE? Because that is where I live.
Among other things, this blog, the result of a 2008 New Year's resolution,
will act as a record of books that I've read, and random thoughts.

Crime Fiction Alphabet 2012 - the Summary: N to Z
Did you catch the first part of the summary for this fabulous meme yesterday?
Each week for the past 26 weeks participants have suggested an author, a title, or a topic beginning with a letter of the alphabet.They've linked their suggestion to a post on their blog.

Crime Fiction Alphabet 2012: Z is for Zita and Zero
It never occurred to me when I set up the Crime Fiction Alphabet me this year and decided that for the meme this year I would try to feature books I've read in 2012 that I would have trouble with the letter Z.
No authors with Z in their name so I've had to be creative and I hope you'll forgive me.
So my choices are THE SAINT ZITA SOCIETY by Ruth Rendell and TOWARDS ZERO by Agatha Christie.
These are very different novels.
TOWARDS ZERO opens with a Prologue which introduces the concept of characters converging towards Zero Hour. There will be a point at which a murder MUST occur, and then there are two of them.
On the other hand, in THE SAINT ZITA SOCIETY the first death is an accident, the result of rage taking over, but this then leads to murder.

Crime Fiction Alphabet: the letter Z
The Alphabet in Crime Fiction - a Community Meme.
This meme was run first on this blog in 2009-2010 and was re-run in 2011.
Many many thanks to those who have participated on a regular basis this year. We have had an average of about 14 participants a week. I hope you've had fun, and been able to find some good books to read.
Our 2012 journey.

After 25 exciting weeks we've come to the very end, the 26th letter, the letter Z. the one that for many will cause the most problems.
By Friday of each week participants try to write a blog post about crime fiction related to the letter of the week.
Your post MUST be related to either the first letter of a book's title, the first letter of an author's first name, or the first letter of the author's surname, or even maybe a crime fiction "topic". But above all, it has to be crime fiction.
So you see you have lots of choice.
You could write a review, or a bio of an author, so long as it fits the rules somehow.
(It is ok too to skip a week.)
You probably won't have to do a lot of extra reading in order to participate, but I warn you that your TBR may grow as a result of the suggestions other participants make.
Feel free to use either of the images provided in your blog.
Your assistance in advertising this community meme, and pointing people to this page, would be very much appreciated.
By the end of this week post your blog post title and URL in the Mr Linky below.
Please place a link in your blog post back to this page.

Crime Fiction Alphabet 2012: Y is for Yvette and Yaba
I've decided that for the Crime Fiction Alphabet meme this year I will try to feature books I've read in 2012.
So I have chosen two books this week, Y. (Yvette) A. Erskine's THE BROTHERHOOD which won the Reader's Choice Award in this year's Davitt Awards (Australian Sisters in Crime) and TRUE MURDER by Yaba Badoe.
Both are debut novels, one by an Australian, the other a British Ghanaian author.
I gave THE BROTHERHOOD a rating of 5.0 here.
TRUE MURDER I read on my Kindle, and gave it 4.6.
