Kalau kita lihat, pada keadaan semasa industri minyak dan gas akan terus bertahan paling kurang pun lagi 10 tahun lagi sekiranya tiada eksplorasi baru dijalankan. Kebanyakan oil companies terdesak untuk mengambil pekerja-pekerja baru untuk bekerja di ‘offshore’ terutamanya dalam eksplorasi dan penggerudiaan.
Adakah anda semua tahu tentang jadual atau waktu kerja di ‘offshore’? Kebanyakan oil companies mengamalkan 1 minggu kerja/1 minggu ‘off’ atau 2 minggu kerja/2minggu ‘off’ dan sebagainya. Kalau tak silap, bagi Schlumberger 5 minggu kerja/2 minggu ‘off’. Bayangkan anda di lautan selama 5 minggu. Pehh..sabar jelakan. Tapi, bayarannya lumayan lah. Kalau kat Exxonmobil, mereka praktikkan 2 minggu kerja/2 minggu off.
Bukan semua pekerja ‘offshore’ berada di pelantar @ platform minyak. Ada juga yang bekerja di FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading), bot tunda, ‘barges’ dan sebagainya.
Mana-mana yang berjaya dapat kerja di ‘offshore’, anda juga kena memikirkan hal-hal yang melibatkan peribadi anda. Contohnya, duit bayaran pinjaman kereta, bil telefon, credit card dan sebagainya. Anda perlulah’set up’ pembayaran secara automatik dengan bank. Haa..mana yang baru je lepas SPM, maka periksa2la dulu dengan Kementerian Pertahanan manatau anda tersenarai sebagai pelatih ke.
Kerja di ‘offshore’ ni memang berbaloi dan dapat ganjaran yang lumayan sekiranya anda berminat untuk belajar dan kerja secara ikhlas dan tekun. Silap-silap haribulan, anda akan mendapat kenaikan pangkat dan beberapa ‘advance’ yang lain. Emm, jangan lupa gak lah ye anda hanya bekerja 6 bulan je untuk setahun tu. Tidak macam pekerja pejabat, anda mempunyai masa yang banyak untuk dipenuhi dengan aktiviti-aktiviti anda sendiri. Aku pernah tengok, pekerja-pekerja ‘offshore’ ni time cuti mereka akan round2 Malaysia dengan motor besar mereka..Gaji besar beb, beli motor besar tu macam beli ‘cikedis’ je. Ada juga yang buka bisnes sendiri untuk mengisi masa lapang dan mengisi poket sendiri. Tax…jangan lupa ye untuk membayar cukai. Kalau nasib anda baik, maka tak perlu bayar cukai. Bergantung pada kontrak anda la kan.

GMA News and Public Affairs
GMA News and Public Affairs (commonly GMA News; formerly RBS News Department, GMA Radio-Television News and GMA Rainbow Satellite News) is the news and public affairs programming division of the media conglomerate, GMA Network Inc.
It produces news, public affairs, infotainment, and lately, entertainment programs for all GMA Network and GMA News TV owned and affiliated television and radio stations in the Philippines, and internationally through GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International. GMA News and Public Affairs is currently headed by Marissa Flores. It is headquartered at the Ground Floor of GMA Network Center in Quezon City.
History
News division
The GMA News division traces its origin from the Republic Broadcasting System, established by Robert Stewart in 1959. Programming of its radio station, DZBB depended on mostly news reports. The station covered the eruption of Mt. Hibok-Hibok in 1951 and the election and death of the Former President Ramon Magsaysay. While RBS Channel 7 was established in 1961, it was in the 1970s that GMA became one of the most-watched television news source in the country. In 1983, Channel 7 was the first to break the news of Ninoy Aquino's death and later would be the only television station to broadcast his funeral. The channel also became the first station to broadcast the Ramos-Enrile break-away that led to the People Power Revolution (otherwise known as EDSA Revolution).

Offshore
The story is set on an oil platform in the North Sea. We follow the employees and their, at times, difficult relationships both at work and in the spare time. The main line of conflict is between popular and smart union boss Torbjorn Lindbaek and the corrupt company boss Hroar Torgersen who wants to give the drilling contract to an American company run by his father-in-law. Of course Lindbaek and Torgersen have also had their share of disagreements in the past...

Kalau kita lihat, pada keadaan semasa industri minyak dan gas akan terus bertahan paling kurang pun lagi 10 tahun lagi sekiranya tiada eksplorasi baru dijalankan. Kebanyakan oil companies terdesak untuk mengambil pekerja-pekerja baru untuk bekerja di ‘offshore’ terutamanya dalam eksplorasi dan penggerudiaan.
Adakah anda semua tahu tentang jadual atau waktu kerja di ‘offshore’? Kebanyakan oil companies mengamalkan 1 minggu kerja/1 minggu ‘off’ atau 2 minggu kerja/2minggu ‘off’ dan sebagainya. Kalau tak silap, bagi Schlumberger 5 minggu kerja/2 minggu ‘off’. Bayangkan anda di lautan selama 5 minggu. Pehh..sabar jelakan. Tapi, bayarannya lumayan lah. Kalau kat Exxonmobil, mereka praktikkan 2 minggu kerja/2 minggu off.
Bukan semua pekerja ‘offshore’ berada di pelantar @ platform minyak. Ada juga yang bekerja di FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading), bot tunda, ‘barges’ dan sebagainya.
Mana-mana yang berjaya dapat kerja di ‘offshore’, anda juga kena memikirkan hal-hal yang melibatkan peribadi anda. Contohnya, duit bayaran pinjaman kereta, bil telefon, credit card dan sebagainya. Anda perlulah’set up’ pembayaran secara automatik dengan bank. Haa..mana yang baru je lepas SPM, maka periksa2la dulu dengan Kementerian Pertahanan manatau anda tersenarai sebagai pelatih ke.
Kerja di ‘offshore’ ni memang berbaloi dan dapat ganjaran yang lumayan sekiranya anda berminat untuk belajar dan kerja secara ikhlas dan tekun. Silap-silap haribulan, anda akan mendapat kenaikan pangkat dan beberapa ‘advance’ yang lain. Emm, jangan lupa gak lah ye anda hanya bekerja 6 bulan je untuk setahun tu. Tidak macam pekerja pejabat, anda mempunyai masa yang banyak untuk dipenuhi dengan aktiviti-aktiviti anda sendiri. Aku pernah tengok, pekerja-pekerja ‘offshore’ ni time cuti mereka akan round2 Malaysia dengan motor besar mereka..Gaji besar beb, beli motor besar tu macam beli ‘cikedis’ je. Ada juga yang buka bisnes sendiri untuk mengisi masa lapang dan mengisi poket sendiri. Tax…jangan lupa ye untuk membayar cukai. Kalau nasib anda baik, maka tak perlu bayar cukai. Bergantung pada kontrak anda la kan.

Kalau kita lihat, pada keadaan semasa industri minyak dan gas akan terus bertahan paling kurang pun lagi 10 tahun lagi sekiranya tiada eksplorasi baru dijalankan. Kebanyakan oil companies terdesak untuk mengambil pekerja-pekerja baru untuk bekerja di ‘offshore’ terutamanya dalam eksplorasi dan penggerudiaan.
Adakah anda semua tahu tentang jadual atau waktu kerja di ‘offshore’? Kebanyakan oil companies mengamalkan 1 minggu kerja/1 minggu ‘off’ atau 2 minggu kerja/2minggu ‘off’ dan sebagainya. Kalau tak silap, bagi Schlumberger 5 minggu kerja/2 minggu ‘off’. Bayangkan anda di lautan selama 5 minggu. Pehh..sabar jelakan. Tapi, bayarannya lumayan lah. Kalau kat Exxonmobil, mereka praktikkan 2 minggu kerja/2 minggu off.
Bukan semua pekerja ‘offshore’ berada di pelantar @ platform minyak. Ada juga yang bekerja di FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading), bot tunda, ‘barges’ dan sebagainya.
Mana-mana yang berjaya dapat kerja di ‘offshore’, anda juga kena memikirkan hal-hal yang melibatkan peribadi anda. Contohnya, duit bayaran pinjaman kereta, bil telefon, credit card dan sebagainya. Anda perlulah’set up’ pembayaran secara automatik dengan bank. Haa..mana yang baru je lepas SPM, maka periksa2la dulu dengan Kementerian Pertahanan manatau anda tersenarai sebagai pelatih ke.
Kerja di ‘offshore’ ni memang berbaloi dan dapat ganjaran yang lumayan sekiranya anda berminat untuk belajar dan kerja secara ikhlas dan tekun. Silap-silap haribulan, anda akan mendapat kenaikan pangkat dan beberapa ‘advance’ yang lain. Emm, jangan lupa gak lah ye anda hanya bekerja 6 bulan je untuk setahun tu. Tidak macam pekerja pejabat, anda mempunyai masa yang banyak untuk dipenuhi dengan aktiviti-aktiviti anda sendiri. Aku pernah tengok, pekerja-pekerja ‘offshore’ ni time cuti mereka akan round2 Malaysia dengan motor besar mereka..Gaji besar beb, beli motor besar tu macam beli ‘cikedis’ je. Ada juga yang buka bisnes sendiri untuk mengisi masa lapang dan mengisi poket sendiri. Tax…jangan lupa ye untuk membayar cukai. Kalau nasib anda baik, maka tak perlu bayar cukai. An oil platform, offshore platform, or (colloquially) oil rig is a large structure with facilities to drill wells (optionally), to extract and process oil and natural gas, or to temporarily store product until it can be brought to shore for refining and marketing. These include bottom founded drilling rigs (jackup barges and swamp barges), combined drilling and production facilities either bottom founded or floating platforms, and deepwater mobile offshore drilling units (MODU) including semi-submersibles and drillships. These are capable of operating in water depths up to 3,000 metres (9,800 ft). In shallower waters the mobile units are anchored to the seabed, however in deeper water (more than 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) the semisubmersibles or drillships are maintained at the required drilling location using dynamic positioning.
