Lycia (Lycian: 𐊗𐊕𐊐𐊎𐊆𐊖 Trm̃mis; Greek: Λυκία, Turkish: Likya) was a geopolitical region in Anatolia in what are now the provinces of Antalya and Muğla on the southern coast of Turkey, and Burdur Province inland. Known to history since the records of ancient Egypt and the Hittite Empire in the Late Bronze Age, it was populated by speakers of the Luwian language group. Written records began to be inscribed in stone in the Lycian language (a later form of Luwian) after Lycia's involuntary incorporation into the Achaemenid Empire in the Iron Age. At that time (546 BC) the Luwian speakers were decimated, and Lycia received an influx of Persian speakers.
Lycia fought for the Persians in the Persian Wars, but on the defeat of the Achaemenid Empire by the Greeks, it became intermittently a free agent. After a brief membership in the Athenian Empire, it seceded and became independent (its treaty with Athens had omitted the usual non-secession clause), was under the Persians again, revolted again, was conquered by Mausolus of Caria, returned to the Persians, and went under Macedonian hegemony at the defeat of the Persians by Alexander the Great. Due to the influx of Greek speakers and the sparsity of the remaining Lycian speakers, Lycia was totally Hellenized under the Macedonians. The Lycian language disappeared from inscriptions and coinage.

Pension tax simplification, often simply referred to as "pension simplification" and taking effect from A-day on 6 April 2006 was a policy announced in 2004 by the Labour government to rationalise the British tax system as applied to pension schemes. The aim was to reduce the complicated patchwork of legislation built-up by successive administrations which were seen as acting as a barrier to the public when considering retirement planning. The government wanted to encourage retirement provision by simplifying the previous eight tax regimes into one single regime for all individual and occupational pensions.
Broadly the new regime allows considerable freedom in the tax relievable contributions that may be made to pension schemes, and the assets in which they may be invested. It also however caps the size of tax favoured pension fund that may be accumulated by an individual. This 'lifetime allowance' was set at £1.6M for 2007–08. Funds accumulated in excess of the lifetime allowance are subject to a tax charge of 55%. Transitional protection provisions were made for individuals who had already accumulated pension funds in excess of this amount.

Plot: To present five different contemporary stories involving different characters as one feature film. What these stories have in common is their expression of the way relational dysfunction prompts people to enact physical and/or emotional violence against themselves, each other or society. This common theme may be represented by a physical object or act that is not necessarily relevant to the plot, but which serves as a visual metaphor for the challenges facing different characters in different situations, who are confronted by the same problems.

One of the best song about one of the best album of one of the best ambient-cold wave band all over the world: Lycia mother Mary, feel me prevail... you're not anything at all drifting, fading, clean, sharp detail... you're not anything at all stationary, vivid and clear... you're not anything at all mother Mary, save your tears... In ancient times, a mining area located in the South-West of Asia Minor, in the region of the Teke Peninsula, was called Lycia. On the West it bordered with Karya, on the North with Phrygia and Pisidia, on the East with Pamphylia and washed by the Mediterranean sea on the South. The coastline is strongly indented in Lycia. There are many bays, islets and sheltered coves. And internal areas are occupied by fertile valleys separated by spurs of the Taurus range. At the end of the XX century, an Englishwoman named Kate Clow, paved the Lycian tourist route. It became one of the most popular trail in the world. Disparate roads, trails and goat paths are connected in a single path, with a total length of 509 kilometers. The trail is marked with red and white marks. In some places, the...
RSD Travel runs several tours around Turkey and many other destinations. I joined one tour in Turkey called "Lycia: On the Trail of Alexander the Great". The one week tour was in November and fortunately we only had a half day of rain with each afternoon being between 18 to 20 DegC. There were 40 people on my coach and numerous other coaches were travelling around. We often joined up with other coaches over lunch or in the excellent hotels. Despite the large numbers the meals ran very smoothly pointing to the fact that overall organisation must be very well controlled. Sometimes the coach journeys were long but there were regular convenience stops - which also included the possibility to purchase goods. The price of £270 included the flights, the first-class hotels, breakfast, the coach (...

The song is AX TA MATIA SOY (ah ta matia sou) from Guardians of Hellenism VOL 3 (Smyrna, Ionian Coast). Anatolia (Aνατολή), which means East in Greek, which is now modern Turkey, was the heartland of Byzantium before the Ottoman invasion. There are various ethnic influences in its culture. Of course, many parts of Anatolia also have remnants of the glorious Ancient Greek civilization. Featured in the video are costumes from: Smyrne(Σμύρνη) in Ionia (Ἰωνία), Halicarnassus (Ἁλικαρνᾱσσός) in Caria, Baris in Lycia (Λυκία) and Zephyrion (Ζεφύριον) near Tarsus (Ταρσός).
Some of the most important parts of the history of Lycia are hidden away in little known and rarely visited ancient sites. These off the beaten track sites make a great historical itinerary. When we visit these places we also visit to a very local (non touristy) market town on market day; a great place to buy herbs, spices, real Turkish Delight, locally made honey, nuts, dates and wonderfully fresh local fruit. The sites we visit are the Lycian cities of Rhodiapolis, Limyra, and Arykanda. Rhodiapolis is a hilltop settlement and was home to the rich and famous of the day. The carvings and materials used are of the highest quality. It was home to Opramoas a millionaire philanthropist who financed the re-building of a number of Lycian cities after an earthquake in 141AD. His life story is fou...

I reflect everything, I percieve it all
I surmise just everything, I desire nothing
I need to back to the desert
so I can feel new again
I need to go back to the desert
so I can feel fresh again
don't care about anything
don't care about everything, anything
don't care about anything
except for the desert
and then I climb from this world
and head straight out to the desert
and stand under her brilliant blue
I am cleansed, cleansed by the desert
then isolation builds
and I want to escape from this desert
then desolation burns
and I just want to sin again
HATE, LOVE, HOPE, GREED
LUST, FATE, LOSS, NEED
GRIEF, TRUST, TRUTH, LIES
PAIN, WANT, DAYS, TIME
