Celebrates First International Yoga Day – New Jersey USA

Inclement weather couldn’t stop yoga enthusiasts from joining the First International Yoga Day celebrations held in Piscataway High School, New Jersey on 21st June 2015. People from all sections lined up ahead of time to practice and celebrate this ancient Hindu science and heritage jointly organized by Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP-USA), Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), VHPA, SEWA, EKAL, Art of Living, Gayatri Parivar and local Yoga studios and certified Yoga professionals. About 25 million people in USA and 250 Million people in the world practice Yoga in some form or the other regularly. Thanks to the contribution of Hindu Sages and Seers that unearthed this Science of Perfection.

Speaking on the Occasion, Maananeeya Shri Purushottham Ruplaji, Vice President BJP, appreciated the spirit of the public, Yoga teachers and like-minded organizations that participated in Piscataway School, despite many such celebrations throughout USA by OFBJP and other organizations that included United Nations celebration in New York with Participation of India’s Foreign Minister Honorable Sushma Swaraj. Rupalaji quoted the relevant samskrit shloka from Bhagavadgita by Lord Sri Krishna, master of Yoga, and explained that Yoga is all about achieving perfection in whatever we do to achieve the ultimate.

Ramachandra Kamath, General Secretary, OFBJP-US, spoke about importance of right food in Yoga practice that is Amrut Aahaar or raw food. He went on to explain that more the cooking more the likelihood of toxins introduced in the body. Amrut aahar detoxifies and energizes the body and mind to achieve perfection just as Yogasanas (physical postures), Pranaayaama (rhythmic breathing) and Dhyaana (meditation) do. He described Yoga as silent and peaceful weapon of mass destruction of all the evils inside body and mind of humans to enable them live in harmony with the nature peacefully and happily.

Krishna Reddy, Treasurer, OFBJP, and active OFBJP karyakarthas, Rupesh Trivedi, Vilas Reddy, Arvind Modini, Nimesh Diskhit, Dr. Kalpana Shukla, Harashish Sethi and Deep Bhatt participated to make the function a grand success. Amrut Ahaar prepared by OFBJP volunteers was distributed to all participants.
