Good night!

I was going to blog the Challenge Cup semi-final but I am so tired I think I will struggled to just watch it! Thanks for joining me. As usual, here is the podcast on autoplay.

Fulltime at Allianz Stadium: SYDNEY ROOSTERS 22 NORTH QUEENSLAND 16

SYDNEY Roosters have cemented their top four place with a six-point victory over a gallant North Queensland.

The Cowboys seemed in control when they led 16-6 at halftime on the back of creative play by fullback Lachlan Coote but Trent Robinson's side enjoyed a second-session revival.

The winner was scored by Luke Keary with 19 minutes to go and it was a sparkling individual effort from 20 metres out.

COMMENT: The Roosters seem to have that intangible ability to win games in which they only play OK.

68 min: Mitchell goal

The Roosters get another penalty and open out a six-point lead. They are alternating kickers now with Latrell Mitchell doing the work now. Sydney Roosters 22-16.

61 min: Keary try

It didn't take long for the Rosoters to hit the lead. Luke Keary was the man with a little dart from close range, Mitchell Pearce also involved. Taukieaho misses. Sydney Roosters 20-16.

59 min: Taukeiaho try, goal

Penalty to Sydney Roosters. They turn down the chance to shoot for goal and it appears to have paid off. Sio Siua Taukeiaho launches himself at the line straight off the tap and - once more - there is insufficient evidence to over-rule the on-field decision of try. Taukeiaho converts his own try. 16-16.

42 min: Tupou try

A penalty to the Roosters and a simple overlap on the left gives Daniel Tupou a touchdown. Kyle Feldt was just caught napping. Latrell Mitchell can't land a difficult kick. North Queensland 16-10.

Second half underway now with the Cowboys coming out of the north-eastern corner. North Queensland 16-6.

Halftime at Allianz Stadium: NORTH QUEENSLAND 16 SYDNEY ROOSTERS 6

TWO try assists to fullback Lachlan Coote has North Queensland in control against fellow top eight side Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The Roosters scored first after only two minutes but Scotland international Coote set up tries for Kane Linnett and Kyle Feldt before Coen Hess got a try which was not visibly when checked by the Bunker.

The Cowboys continue to astound despite the absence through injury of co-captains Johnathan Thurston and Matt Scott.

COMMENT: Just too good, Lachan Coote.

33 min: Hess try, Lowe goal

This is a strange one. Referee Grant Atkins say it was a try to Coen Hess and sends it upstairs. There is not a shot of the ball on the line but no matter. The on-field decision of 'try' can't be overturned. Green light. Ethan Lowe converts. North Queensland 16-6.

25 min: Feldt try, Lowe goal

Lachlan Coote is the link man again in another Cowboys try. Michael Morgan passes to Coote who quickly shovels the ball across the face of centre Justin O'Neill before Feldt hugs the eastern touchline to dot down. Ethan Lowe converts successfully from the sideline. North Queensland 10-6.

17 min: Linnett try

Windang boy Kane Linnett is over off a nice short ball from his fellow Scotland international Lachlan Coote. Te Maire Martin was also involved with a very quick spread to the left. Ethan Lowe misses the conversion attempt. Michael Morgan is injured. Sydney Roosters 6-4.

2 min: Mitchell try, goal

The Roosters don't take long. Centre Latrell Mitchell finds space down the eastern touchline, skipping out of a couple of tackles. He also employs an audacious fend. He'll attempt to convert his own try now. He does so. Sydney Roosters 6-0.

Kick-off now at Moore Park. The Cowboys have the ball and they're running towards the north. Sydney Roosters 0 North Queensland 0.

Fulltime at ANZ Stadium: CANBERRA 32 SOUTH SYDNEY 18

CANBERRA are still a dusty hope for the finals after easily accounting for South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.

The Raiders ran out comfortable winners against a disappoiting South Sydney, leading 20-6 at halftime. Winger Michael Oldfield has now scored two tries in as many games for the club. The Bunnies got a couple of second half touchdowns but were never really in the hunt.

COMMENT: The Green Machine have surely left their run too late.

80 min: Johnston try, Reynolds goal

Under "consolation try" in a future dictionary, there'll be hologram of that. Alex Johnston chases the kick and dots down, Adam Reynolds converting. Canberra 32-18.

66 min: Oldfield try, Croker goal

And they're playing "Tubular Bells" over the PA as Canberra winger Michael Oldfield dots down in the south-western corner. Jarrod Croker from the sideline now. It's there! Can the Raiders make the finals? Canberra 32-12.

58 min: Bateman try, Croker goal

And the Rabbitohs pay for the loss of a player to the bin almost immediately, Luke Bateman strolling over for his first NRL try just to the left of the ruck. It's an easy conversion for Jarrod Croker. Canberra 26-12.

57 min: Crichton SIN BIN (professional foul)

Josh Hodgson takes Adam Reynolds high. There's a Raiders break down the eastern wing. Angus Crichton is sent to the sin bin for a professional foul. No action against Hodgson. Canberra 20-12.

49 min: Fuimaono try, Reynolds goal

Adam Reynolds kicks to the left and John Sutton plus Bryson Goodwin miss the ball completely. Centre Tyrell Fuimaono is loitering and scores the try. The Bunker confirms neither of his team-mates got a hand to it. Reynolds converts despite falling over. Canberra 20-10.
