Greece (i/ɡriːs/ GREESS; Greek: Ελλάδα, Elláda [eˈlaða]), officially the Hellenic Republic (Greek: Ελληνική Δημοκρατία, Ellīnikī́ Dīmokratía [eliniˈci ðimokraˈti.a]) and known since ancient times as Hellas (/ˈhɛləs/; Greek: Ελλάς, Ellás), is a country located in southeastern Europe. According to the 2011 census, Greece's population is around 10.8 million. Athens is the nation's capital and largest city, followed by Thessaloniki, which is commonly referred to as the co-capital.
Greece is strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Situated on the southern tip of the Balkan peninsula, it shares land borders with Albania to the northwest, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north and Turkey to the northeast. Greece consists of nine geographic regions: Macedonia, Central Greece, the Peloponnese, Thessaly, Epirus, the Aegean Islands (including the Dodecanese and Cyclades), Thrace, Crete, and the Ionian Islands. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of the mainland, the Ionian Sea to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Greece has the longest coastline on the Mediterranean Basin and the 11th longest coastline in the world at 13,676 km (8,498 mi) in length, featuring a vast number of islands, of which 227 are inhabited. Eighty percent of Greece is mountainous, with Mount Olympus being the highest peak at 2,918 metres (9,573 ft).

PIGS is a term coined by the business and financial press as a way to refer to Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain during their current financial plight. What started as a pejorative label used by neoconservatives, mainly from English speaking countries, was eventually taken up for some time without any qualms by the media. Excessively high levels of public and private debt, government deficits, a property bubble and, generally speaking, very disappointing political and economic policies, have put the PIGS in the crosshairs. It is alleged that the PIGS won’t be able to bear the pressure of sharing a common currency with their stronger European brethren. In this analysis, the forced exit of at least some of the PIGS from the Euro would lead soon to the demise of the European currency. Yet...

Check us out at www.productionhouse.gr We recently prepared a spec for Greece's official online travel guide, www.visitgreece.gr. We were asked to create a 3min, 60sec & 30sec video about Crete. After 3 days, 36 hours of filming & the locals' constant attempts to get us drunk on Raki, this is what we came up with.
During the Easter Holidays, the Classics and RP departments joined together for their quadrennial trip to Greece. Led by an enthusiastic team consisting of Mrs Steven, Mme Holdsworth, Mr Jones and Mr Verry, thirty boys spanning Years 7-Sixth Form departed from QEH at 4am on a Saturday morning. After a hectic day of travel and a well-earned rest, we were introduced to our erudite tour guide, Maria, who would accompany us around the most famous landmarks of Mainland Greece and The Peloponnese. Over the next six days, we visited a vast number of sights including The Oracle at Delphi, the home of the Olympic Games at Olympia, the incredible theatre at Epidaurus (you can whisper in the orchestra and be heard by the entire crowd), the dramatic Corinth canal, the Acropolis of Athens, several a...

todavia no acabo, siga escuchando y sabra.
Ahi Cuauhtemoc tiene su eterna morada
es mi tierra la madre mas abnegada
es un nin~o y con un suen~o va a la escuela
es bandera tricolor que ondea en Iguala.
Es un paraiso...(se repite)
