Saba

Saba (/ˈsɑːbə/) is a Caribbean island and the smallest special municipality (officially public body) of the Netherlands. It consists largely of the potentially active volcano Mount Scenery, at 887 metres (2,910 ft) the highest point of the entire Netherlands.

Saba has a land area of 13 square kilometres (5.0 sq mi). As of January 2013, the population was 1,991 inhabitants, with a population density of 150 inhabitants per square kilometre (390/sq mi). Its towns and major settlements are The Bottom (the capital), Windwardside, Hell's Gate and St. Johns.

Etymology

The origin of the name "Saba" is often believed to be derived from the Arawak Indian word for "rock," which was "siba."

History

Christopher Columbus is said to have sighted the island on 13 November 1493. He did not land, being deterred by the island's perilous rocky shores. In 1632, a group of shipwrecked Englishmen landed upon Saba. They stated they found the island uninhabited when they were rescued. There has been clear evidence found indicating that Caribs and Arawak Indians have been on the island.

List Project

The List Project is a non-profit foundation that was established on June 20, 2007. It assists Iraqi refugees who have worked for U.S-affiliated organizations throughout the Iraqi war in obtaining visas and relocating to the U.S. It is recognized as a U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit organization under the Tides Center.

Founding

The founder Kirk Johnson, was a "former USAID worker who served as regional coordinator on reconstruction in Fallujah throughout 2005." After being contacted by an Iraqi colleague with whom he served, Johnson wrote an article in the Los Angeles Times lamenting the delays in visa handling for these interpreters. This article resulted in a surge of letters from other Iraqi interpreters and prompted the creation of The List Project.

Chancelor Bennett (born April 16, 1993), better known by his stage name Chance the Rapper, is an American hip hop recording artist from the West Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. In 2013, he began to gain major recognition following the release of his second mixtape, Acid Rap. Chance grew up as the oldest brother in the middle-class neighborhood of West Chatham in Chicago's South Side, his younger brother Taylor Bennett is also an aspiring young rapper. His father, Ken Williams-Bennett, was a prominent presence in the city: He first served as an aide to former Chicago mayor Harold Washington and then worked for Barack Obama, who was a senator at the time. Williams-Bennett, who is now a deputy chief of staff to Mayor Rahm Emanuel, dreamed that his son might one day hold office.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993)

Plot: Four athletically able teenagers along with their brainy friend Billy are selected by Zordon to fight the evil of Rita Repulsa, her monsters and her minions after the witch is accidentally released from imprisonment in an intergalactic dumpster on the moon.
