Sisters (stylized as SISTERS) is the fourth full-length studio album by Japanese idol group Idoling!!!. It reached number 17 on Oricon chart. The song "Makehende" used as Fuji TV "Wakeari Nē-san EX" ending song.

"Sisters" is a popular song written by Irving Berlin in 1954, best known from the 1954 movie White Christmas.

Recordings

White Christmas

Both parts were sung by Rosemary Clooney (who served as Vera-Ellen's singing vocal dub for this song, while Trudy Stevens dubbed Vera-Ellen's other songs in the film).

The movie White Christmas also starred Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. It was not possible to issue an "original soundtrack album" of the film, because Decca Records controlled the soundtrack rights, but Clooney was under exclusive contract with Columbia Records. Consequently each one issued a separate "soundtrack recording": Decca issuing Selections from Irving Berlin's White Christmas, while Columbia issued Irving Berlin's White Christmas. On the former, the song "Sisters" (as well as all of Clooney's vocal parts) was recorded by Peggy Lee, while on the latter, the song was sung by Rosemary Clooney and her own sister, Betty. The Clooney sisters' version, which was also released as a single, was the most popular recording of the song, charting in 1954.

Sisters (Lynne Cheney novel)

Sisters is a 1981 novel by Lynne Cheney published only in a Signet Canadian paperback edition as part of the New American Library (ISBN 0-451-11204-0). Sisters is a historical novel set in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1886. Sophie Dymond, a magazine editor in New York, comes home to Cheyenne after the death of her sister, Helen. The novel is a historical and literary portrayal of the status of women in the Old West. In the novel, Sophie finds a letter that Amy Travers, a schoolteacher and close friend of Helen's, had written to her:

The "him" referred to in the letter is apparently Helen's husband, James Stevenson.

Later in the book, the author writes of Sophie's impressions on seeing Amy Travers and another woman, Lydia Swerdlow, with their arms around each other:

The book is now out of print. Existing copies have been put up for sale on eBay, amazon.com, and various other Internet sites for prices ranging, at this writing (September 26, 2009), from $49.96 to $295.00 unsigned, and $1,500 for a copy autographed by Cheney.

Kittie

Kittie (stylized as KiTTiE) are a Canadian heavy metal band formed in London, Ontario in 1996. They have released six studio albums, one video album, four extended plays, thirteen singles and thirteen music videos. The band chose their band name to be "Kittie" because the name "seemed contradictory".

Kittie formed in 1996 when Fallon Bowman and Mercedes Lander met in gym class. Morgan Lander became the lead vocalist and one of Kittie's guitarists and Tanya Candler completed the band's lineup on bass. After signing to NG Records, Kittie released their debut album "Spit", which was certified gold by the RIAA and sold at least 600,000 copies in the United States. The band released "Oracle" in 2001 and "Until the End" in 2004. In 2005, Kittie parted ways with Artemis Records and created their own label. The band released "Funeral for Yesterday" in 2007 and signed to E1 Music in 2009. The band released "In the Black" in 2009 and "I've Failed You" in 2011. In 2014, Kittie made a documentary as a 20th anniversary of the band.

Kitty (1945 film)

Kitty is a 1945 film, a costume drama set in London during the 1780s, directed by Mitchell Leisen, based on the novel of the same name by Rosamond Marshall (published in 1943), with a screenplay by Karl Tunberg. It stars Paulette Goddard, Ray Milland, Constance Collier, Patric Knowles, Reginald Owen, and Cecil Kellaway as the English painter Thomas Gainsborough. In a broad interpretation of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion story line, the film tells the rags-to-riches story of a young guttersnipe, cockney girl.

Plot

In 1783, Kitty (Goddard) is caught trying to pick the pocket of the painter Thomas Gainsborough (Kellaway). He offers to pay her more to sit for a portrait for him. There, she attracts the attention of Sir Hugh Marcy (Milland) and the Earl of Carstairs (Knowles). Sir Hugh, upon finding out her real social status, offers her a job as a scullery maid. Kitty learns that he is impoverished, having lost his post in the foreign office due to a scandal.

Gainsborough's portrait, The Anonymous Lady, creates a stir, as people try to guess who the subject is. The Duke of Malmunster buys both that painting and Gainsborough's The Blue Boy. When the duke asks Gainsborough who the model is, Sir Hugh claims she is his aunt's ward. The duke admits he may have been mistaken in having Sir Hugh dismissed from his position (in favor of the duke's nephew), and in exchange for an introduction to Kitty "Gordon", offers to reinstate him. Sir Hugh, who had planned to avenge his dismissal, changes his mind in favor of monetary gain.

Jennifer Dunn (musician)

Jennifer Dunn, commonly known as Kitty, is the drummer in the American electropunk band Mindless Self Indulgence.

Biography

Born August 1st (year unknown), Kitty started drumming in elementary school, but stopped in middle school. She was storing her drums at a friend's house, but the friend's mom didn't like all the equipment taking up room, so she arranged for another friend to hold on to it. Unfortunately, that friend thought it had been given to them, and ended up pawning it. Years later, while attending the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, she ran intoJimmy Urine, whose band, Mindless Self Indulgence, had shows booked but no drummer. She then offered to play for them (using a borrowed kit) until they found a permanent drummer. Later she was offered a chance to play with MSI permanently, and started playing again. When returning the borrowed drum kit, the owner let her keep it. A boutique drum shop built a custom fit, jazz-sized kit, which she used for years until she obtained a Pearl sponsorship in 2008. Kitty plays an acoustic drum kit (In "Evening Wear", the steel drums) which is augmented by backing tracks consisting of sampled "loops" for the live show. She uses Pearl drums, Zildjian cymbals, Pearl hardware, Evans drum heads, and Pro-Mark sticks. She is one of the original members of MSI.

Sin

In a religious context, sin is the act of violating God's will. Sin can also be viewed as anything that violates the ideal relationship between an individual and God; or as any diversion from the perceived ideal order for human living. To sin has been defined as "to miss the mark".

Etymology

The word derives from "Old English syn(n), for original *sunjō... The stem may be related to that of Latin sons, sont-is guilty. In Old English there are examples of the original general sense, ‘offence, wrong-doing, misdeed'". The Biblical terms translated from New Testament Greek (αμαρτία - amartia) and from Hebrew as "sin" or "syn" originate in archery and literally refer to missing the "gold" at the centre of a target, but hitting the target, i.e. error. (Archers call not hitting the target at all a "miss".)

In the Bahá'í Faith, humans are considered naturally good (perfect), fundamentally spiritual beings. Human beings were created because of God's immeasurable love.
