Formosa xây dựng trên vị trí hiện nay có quá nhiều vấn đề để bàn, trong đó, từ chuyện tâm linh đến chuyện hành xử với môi trường đều có khuất tất. Ở vấn đề tâm linh, Formosa đã xây dựng bên trên một nghĩa trang của đất Kỳ Anh, và quá trình xây dựng không hề có chuyện di dời các ngôi mộ mà cứ xây đến đâu, múc đến đâu gặp hài cốt thì nhặt đi chôn hoặc đổ ra biển.
Việc này diễn ra như vậy cho đến khi một giàn giáo trong công trình bị sập, 13 người tử vong thì Formosa mời cho xây dựng một khu miếu thờ các oan hồn bên ngoài khuôn viên của tập đoàn này. Khu miếu thờ nằm sát quốc lộ 1A, có thùng phước sương để người qua đường cúng nhang.
Một thanh niên Công Giáo tên Lộc, cư dân Hà Tĩnh, chia sẻ sau vụ nổ: “Lúc 10 giờ đêm ấy, nghe 2, 3 tiếng nổ to lắm, ban đầu dân ở đây tưởng đâu mìn nổ ngoài biển. Nhưng sau đó biết được là ở Formosa, tiếng nổ to lắm, to đến nỗi người dân rất hoang mang. Nói chung là có chút phấn chấn, có chút giải tỏa tâm trạng mấy hôm nay, bởi mấy hôm nay kể từ khi Formosa chạy thử lò cao đó thì bầu trời mù tịt, xám xịt. Người dân mong có sự cố để nó ngừng hoạt động nhưng cũng lo lắng lắm khi xảy ra sự cố, bởi sợ không biết còn tai họa gì trong tương lai. Cũng có mấy ông bà nói là có thể do Đức Mẹ làm cho nó nổ, bởi từ hồi nó ngưng hoạt động sau nổ, trời quang mây tạnh trở lại. Formosa đó trước đây xây dựng trên nền một nghĩa địa mà.”
Anh Lộc cho biết thêm là kể từ khi Formosa chạy thử lò cao, không khí ở Hà Tĩnh xuống cấp trầm trọng, toàn bộ bầu trời có màu xám chì và mặc dù đã trưa nắng nhưng có cảm giác bầu trời bị một lớp sương mù bao phủ. Suốt thời gian Formosa xả khói đều bị như vậy, mãi cho đến tối 30 tháng 5, sau vụ nổ, Formosa tạm dừng hoạt động thì bầu không khí trở lại bình thường.
Về tiếng nổ phát ra từ Formosa, anh Lộc cho biết là cuồng độ âm thanh của nó chẳng khác gì ba quả bom, nhà của anhh cách nơi nổ hơn 3 kilomet, nhưng liên tục ba tiếng nổ to một cách lạ thường, chát chúa khiến cho tường nhà rung lên bần bật.

Sau tiếng nổ lớn, khói bốc lên từ khu vận hành lò cao số 1 tại Công ty TNHH gang thép Hưng Nghiệp Formosa Hà Tĩnh.
sự cố xảy ra vào khoảng 21h ngày 30/5 tại Công ty TNHH gang thép Hưng Nghiệp Formosa Hà Tĩnh (FHS). Được biết vụ nổ xảy ra tại một thiết bị hun khói của lò vôi.
Một số người dân sống cạnh FHS kể sau khi nghe tiếng nổ lớn, họ chạy ra thì thấy phía trong khu công nghiệp có cột khói lớn bốc lên. Mặc dù chưa biết chuyện gì xảy ra, họ rất lo lắng về độ an toàn trong khu vực.
Một lãnh đạo địa phương cho hay sau khi nhận thông tin đã có mặt tại hiện trường vụ nổ để kiểm tra, xác minh. Vụ nổ xảy ra trong quá trình vận hành lò cao số 1, có thể từ thiết bị hun khói của lò vôi và không gây ảnh hướng lớn đến dây chuyền vận hành lò cao.
Trước đó, ngày 29/5 FHS thực hiện đốt lửa khởi động lò cao sau báo cáo đã khắc phục được 52/53 sự cố. Hiện khu vực xảy ra vụ nổ vẫn xuất hiện những bụi khói cao và nhiều tiếng nổ nhỏ.

Taiwan (historically called Formosa, from Portuguese: Ilha Formosa, "Beautiful Island", Portuguese pronunciation: [ˌiʎɐ fuɾˈmɔzɐ]) is an island in East Asia; it is located some 180 kilometres (112 miles) off the southeastern coast of mainland China across the Taiwan Strait. It has an area of 35,883 km2 (13,855 sq mi) and spans the Tropic of Cancer. The East China Sea lies to the north, the Philippine Sea to the east, the Luzon Strait directly to the south and the South China Sea to the southwest. Taiwan proper makes up 99% of the territory of the Free Area of Republic of China, after the ROC lost its mainland China territory in the Chinese Civil War and fled to the island in 1949, and the country itself is commonly referred to as simply "Taiwan".
Taiwan is a tilted fault block, characterized by the contrast between the eastern two-thirds, consisting mostly of five rugged mountain ranges parallel to the east coast, and the flat to gently rolling plains of the western third, where most of Taiwan's population reside. There are several peaks over 3,500 m, the highest being Yu Shan at 3,952 metres (12,966 ft), making Taiwan the world's fourth-highest island. The tectonic boundary that formed these ranges is still active, and the island experiences many earthquakes, a few of them highly destructive. There are also many active submarine volcanoes in the Taiwan Straits.

But these promises eventually mutate into consequent agony of the unmentioned realities that exist within the drug culture. The unspeakable truths become a daily occurrence and force the mind into mental remission, while the body is conditioned into a prison. The faith once placed in, "I will never..." is exchanged for an allegiance to, "Never say never."

Sau tiếng nổ lớn, khói bốc lên từ khu vận hành lò cao số 1 tại Công ty TNHH gang thép Hưng Nghiệp Formosa Hà Tĩnh. sự cố xảy ra vào khoảng 21h ngày 30/5 tại Công ty TNHH gang thép Hưng Nghiệp Formosa Hà Tĩnh (FHS). Được biết vụ nổ xảy ra tại một thiết bị hun khói của lò vôi. Một số người dân sống cạnh FHS kể sau khi nghe tiếng nổ lớn, họ chạy ra thì thấy phía trong khu công nghiệp có cột khói lớn bốc lên. Mặc dù chưa biết chuyện gì xảy ra, họ rất lo lắng về độ an toàn trong khu vực. Một lãnh đạo địa phương cho hay sau khi nhận thông tin đã có mặt tại hiện trường vụ nổ để kiểm tra, xác minh. Nhưng sau đó biết được là ở Formosa, tiếng nổ to lắm, to đến nỗi người dân rất hoang mang. Nói chung là có chút phấn chấn, có chút giải tỏa tâm trạng mấy hôm nay, bởi mấy hôm nay kể từ khi Formosa chạy thử lò cao đó thì bầu trời mù tịt, xám xịt. Người dân mong có sự cố để nó ngừng hoạt động nhưng cũng lo lắng lắm khi xảy ra sự cố, bởi sợ không biết còn tai họa gì trong tương lai. Cũng có mấy ông bà nói là có thể do Đức Mẹ làm cho nó nổ, bởi từ hồi nó ngưng hoạt động sau nổ, trời quang mây tạnh trở lại. Formosa đó trước đây xây dựng trên nền một nghĩa địa mà.”
Anh Lộc cho biết thêm là kể từ khi Formosa chạy thử lò cao, không khí ở Hà Tĩnh xuống cấp trầm trọng, toàn bộ bầu trời có màu xám chì và mặc dù đã trưa nắng nhưng có cảm giác bầu trời bị một lớp sương mù bao phủ. Suốt thời gian Formosa xả khói đều bị như vậy, mãi cho đến tối 30 tháng 5, sau vụ nổ, Formosa tạm dừng hoạt động thì bầu không khí trở lại bình thường.
Về tiếng nổ phát ra từ Formosa, anh Lộc cho biết là cuồng độ âm thanh của nó chẳng khác gì ba quả bom, nhà của anhh cách nơi nổ hơn 3 kilomet, nhưng liên tục ba tiếng nổ to một cách lạ thường, chát chúa khiến cho tường nhà rung lên bần bật.

Một số người dân sống cạnh FHS kể sau khi nghe tiếng nổ lớn, họ chạy ra thì thấy phía trong khu công nghiệp có cột khói lớn bốc lên. Mặc dù chưa biết chuyện gì xảy ra, họ rất lo lắng về độ an toàn trong khu vực.
Một lãnh đạo địa phương cho hay sau khi nhận thông tin đã có mặt tại hiện trường vụ nổ để kiểm tra, xác minh. Vụ nổ xảy ra trong quá trình vận hành lò cao số 1, có thể từ thiết bị hun khói của lò vôi và không gây ảnh hướng lớn đến dây chuyền vận hành lò cao.
Trước đó, ngày 29/5 FHS thực hiện đốt lửa khởi động lò cao sau báo cáo đã khắc phục được 52/53 sự cố. Hiện khu vực xảy ra vụ nổ vẫn xuất hiện những bụi khói cao và nhiều tiếng nổ nhỏ.

Over a hundred people packed the Observatory on the 91st floor of Taipei 101 for the Premier Party of National Geographic's Megacities-Taipei show yesterday.
The hour-long documentary, explores the past, present and future of Taiwan's capital.
"I am proud to be the spokesperson of Megacities-Taipei," said American-born Taiwanese singer, song writer and actor Wang Leehom, 31, star and co-host of the premier. "The show will allow the world to witness the magnificence of Taipei."

Northern Taiwan received some much needed rain yesterday, generating about 2.5 million cubic meters of water for drought-stricken Shimen Reservoir. That weather front was joined by a cold air mass today that will bring more rain and low temperatures to the island, with the mercury expected to fall as low as 11 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan tomorrow. Cracks in the sloped edges of Shimen Reservoir reveal the extent of the reservoir’s lack of water. But a weather front that hit Taiwan yesterday along with cloud seeding by the Water Resources Agency brought the reservoir some desperately needed relief.Chiu Chung-chuanNorthern Water Resources OfficeThere was some rain yesterday, about 17 millimeters. So 24 millimeters have fallen in the month of February to date. Another 30 millimeters should fall tonight and tomorrow. If we get that much rain, that would be 5 million more cubic meters of water for the reservoir. Shimen Reservoir workers are also stepping up dredging operations to increase the reservoir’s capacity. As for the weather, a cold front is heading south with the weather front, which will send temperatures lower around Taiwan starting tonight. Hsieh Pei-yunCWB ForecasterThis cold front will likely affect Taiwan until next Monday. It will only start to weaken on Tuesday. So from tomorrow through the 228 long holiday weekend, the weather will for the most part be relatively cold.The Central Weather Bureau said the cold will be at its worst on Friday, when lows in northern Taiwan are expected to hit 11 degrees Celsius.
