It seems that humans aren't the only ones who need forgiveness.
Bizarre footage has surfaced of a fugitive pig grovelling in front of a temple in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on Tuesday.
Footage shows the animal kneeling on its forelimbs encircled by worshippers, as a Buddhist ceremony takes place inside the temple.
The saintly swine reportedly stayed put for hours, and only left the scene after a group of monks emerged from inside and chanted a Buddhist scripture towards it.

बिहार के बोध गया में स्थित महाबोधि मंदिर भारत का सबसे प्रसिद्ध बौद्ध मंदिर है बोध गया वह स्थान है जहां गौतम बुद्ध ने प्राचीन बोधि वृक्ष के नीचे बैठकर ज्ञान प्राप्त किया था। इस मंदिर की बनावट बहुत खूबसूरत है। मंदिर की कला पर विभिन्न धर्मो और संस्कृतियों की छबि देखने को मिलती है। बौद्ध धर्म मानने वाले लोगो के लिए यह धार्मिक स्थल है
2. महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर
उत्तर प्रदेश के कुशीनगर में स्थित महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर में गौतम बुध 6 फ़ीट लंबी मूर्ति है जो हमेशा एक चुनरी से ढकी रहती है। मूर्ति का सिर्फ चेहरा दिखाई देता है।
3. रामाभर स्तूप
महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर से 1.5 कि.मी दूरी पर स्थित रामाभर स्तूप वह स्थान है जहा गौतम बुद्ध का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया था इस मंदिर की ऊंचाई लगभग 49 फ़ीट तक है इस मंदिर की बनावट बहुत अनोखी और आकर्षक है।
4. नामद्रोलिंग न्यिंगमापा मोनेस्ट्री
यह मोनेस्ट्री कर्नाटक के बाइलाकुप्पे में स्थित है कर्नाटक के मैसूर जिले के पश्चिम में स्थित इस मोनेस्ट्री का प्रार्थना हॉल बहुत सुंदर है मंदिर में दो सोने की भव्य मूर्तियां भी है।
5. धमेख स्तूप
सारनाथ के सबसे खूबसूरत मंदिरों में से एक धमेख स्तूप भी है यह मंदिर बहुत प्राचीन है। हर साल यहां हजारों की संख्या में श्रद्धालु आते हैं।
6. द वाट थाई मंदिर
अपनी सुंदरता और भव्यता के लिए प्रसिद्ध यह भारत के सबसे अनोखे बुद्ध मंदिरों में से एक है राजा भूमिबोल ने इस मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया था
7. बुद्ध मंदिर लद्दाख
लद्दाख में स्थित बुद्ध मंदिर और मठ की बनावट बहुत ही आकर्षक है इस मंदिर के चारों ओर लगाया गया बगीचा इसकी खूबसूरती को और ज्यादा बढ़ा देता है।

THE PATH OF WILDNESS
The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast's track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination
The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

Thailand is home to over 40,000 Buddhist temples, but none of them is quite like Wat Plai Laem. Completed in 2004, the site is a collection of temples and statues located on Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island. Wat Plai Laem's temples are active, set in a tranquil location, where quiet reflection is encouraged and appropriate attire is a must. One of the temple's most eye-catching figures is a nearly 100-foot tall statue of Buddha, painted in bright red, white and gold. But the main statue is the Buddhist goddess of compassion and mercy, Guanyin. There, she is represented with 18 arms, which shows her ability to help many people in need at once.

A Buddhist temple is the place of worship for Buddhists, the followers of Buddhism. They include the structures called stupa, wat and pagoda in different regions and languages. Temples in Buddhism represent the pure land or pure environment of a Buddha. Traditional Buddhist temples are designed to inspire inner and outer peace. Hsi Lai Temple
Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple (Chinese: 佛光山西來寺; pinyin: Fóguāngshān Xīlái Sì) is a mountain monastery in the northern Puente Hills, Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, California. The name "Hsi Lai" means Coming West
Hsi Lai Temple is affiliated with Fo Guang Shan, a Buddhist organization from Taiwan. It is the order's first overseas branch temple, and serves as the North American regional headquarters for Fo Guang Shan. Hsi Lai Temple was the site of the founding of Buddha's Light International Association, established in 1991. The temple, like its mother temple in Taiwan, practices Humanistic Buddhism.
History
In 1976, Master Hsing Yun, the founder of the order, represented a Buddhist group from Taiwan to participate in America's bicentennial celebration. Master Hsing Yun was asked by American friends to build a monastery in the United States. Therefore, Fo Guang Shan asked the Venerable Tzu Chuang (who, upon the inception of the temple, became the founding and first abbess of Hsi Lai Temple) and Yi Heng to plan and organize the construction of the temple in the Greater Los Angeles area. It was officially registered under the name of International Buddhist Progress Society. Until the temple was complete, Ven. Tzu Chuang bought an old church building, which was to be Hsi Lai's temporary headquarters. The original temple, located in the city of Maywood was called the Bai Ta (White Pagoda) Temple.

Temple
A temple (from the Latin word templum) is a structure reserved for religious or spiritual activities such as prayer and sacrifice. A templum constituted a sacred precinct as defined by a priest, or augur. It has the same root as the word "template," a plan in preparation of the building that was marked out on the ground by the augur. Templa also became associated with the dwelling places of a god or gods. Despite the specific set of meanings associated with the religion of the ancient Rome, the word has now become quite widely used to describe a house of worship for any number of religions and is even used for time periods prior to the Romans.
Hindu temples
Hindu temples are called by many different names, varying on region and language, including mandir, mandira, ambalam, gudi, kavu, koil, kovil, déul, raul, devasthana and devalaya.
Hindu temples are large and magnificent with a rich history. There is evidence of use of sacred ground as far back as the Bronze Age and later the Indus Valley Civilization. However, it was not until Today, Hindu temples have been built in various countries around the world, including India, Nepal, Mauritius, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Great Britain, the United States, Australia, South Africa and Canada.

Hsi Lai Temple is a mountain monastery in the northern Puente Hills, Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, California. The name "Hsi Lai" means Coming West Hsi Lai Temple is affiliated with Fo Guang Shan, a Buddhist organization from Taiwan. It is the order's first overseas branch temple, and serves as the North American regional headquarters for Fo Guang Shan. Hsi Lai Temple was the site of the founding of Buddha's Light International Association, established in 1991. The temple, like its mother temple in Taiwan, practices Humanistic Buddhism. -

A video recording three monks fighting in Ningguo Buddihist Temple, in Yangzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province has recently gone viral on Chinese social media. According to current abbot of the Ningguo Temple, Qingchun Master, the three were all intermediate leaders of the temple who had some disagreements over the temple’s management. In the video, two monks were fighting with each other while another monk came over and hit one of the two’s head with a cellphone. “Their actions go against the idea of harmony and peace of Buddhism,” said Qingchun Master, who has decided to expel the three from the temple. -

26 February 2015 It seems that humans aren't the only ones who need forgiveness. Bizarre footage has surfaced of a fugitive pig grovelling in front of a temple in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on Tuesday. Footage shows the animal kneeling on its forelimbs encircled by worshippers, as a Buddhist ceremony takes place inside the temple. The saintly swine reportedly stayed put for hours, and only left the scene after a group of monks emerged from inside and chanted a Buddhist scripture towards it.

Completed in 2004, the site is a collection of temples and statues located on Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island. Bizarre footage has surfaced of a fugitive pig grovelling in front of a temple in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on Tuesday.
Footage shows the animal kneeling on its forelimbs encircled by worshippers, as a Buddhist ceremony takes place inside the temple.
The saintly swine reportedly stayed put for hours, and only left the scene after a group of monks emerged from inside and chanted a Buddhist scripture towards it.

2. महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर
उत्तर प्रदेश के कुशीनगर में स्थित महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर में गौतम बुध 6 फ़ीट लंबी मूर्ति है जो हमेशा एक चुनरी से ढकी रहती है। मूर्ति का सिर्फ चेहरा दिखाई देता है।
3. रामाभर स्तूप
महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर से 1.5 कि.मी दूरी पर स्थित रामाभर स्तूप वह स्थान है जहा गौतम बुद्ध का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया था इस मंदिर की ऊंचाई लगभग 49 फ़ीट तक है इस मंदिर की बनावट बहुत अनोखी और आकर्षक है।
4. नामद्रोलिंग न्यिंगमापा मोनेस्ट्री
यह मोनेस्ट्री कर्नाटक के बाइलाकुप्पे में स्थित है कर्नाटक के मैसूर जिले के पश्चिम में स्थित इस मोनेस्ट्री का प्रार्थना हॉल बहुत सुंदर है मंदिर में दो सोने की भव्य मूर्तियां भी है।
5. धमेख स्तूप
सारनाथ के सबसे खूबसूरत मंदिरों में से एक धमेख स्तूप भी है यह मंदिर बहुत प्राचीन है। हर साल यहां हजारों की संख्या में श्रद्धालु आते हैं।
6. द वाट थाई मंदिर
अपनी सुंदरता और भव्यता के लिए प्रसिद्ध यह भारत के सबसे अनोखे बुद्ध मंदिरों में से एक है राजा भूमिबोल ने इस मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया था
7. बुद्ध मंदिर लद्दाख
लद्दाख में स्थित बुद्ध मंदिर और मठ की बनावट बहुत ही आकर्षक है इस मंदिर के चारों ओर लगाया गया बगीचा इसकी खूबसूरती को और ज्यादा बढ़ा देता है।

THE PATH OF WILDNESS
The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast's track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination
The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

Completed in 2004, the site is a collection of temples and statues located on Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island. Wat Plai Laem's temples are active, set in a tranquil location, where quiet reflection is encouraged and appropriate attire is a must. One of the temple's most eye-catching figures is a nearly 100-foot tall statue of Buddha, painted in bright red, white and gold. But the main statue is the Buddhist goddess of compassion and mercy, Guanyin. There, she is represented with 18 arms, which shows her ability to help many people in need at once.

A video recording three monks fighting in Ningguo Buddihist Temple, in Yangzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province has recently gone viral on Chinese social media.
According to current abbot of the Ningguo Temple, Qingchun Master, the three were all intermediate leaders of the temple who had some disagreements over the temple’s management.
In the video, two monks were fighting with each other while another monk came over and hit one of the two’s head with a cellphone.
“Their actions go against the idea of harmony and peace of Buddhism,” said Qingchun Master, who has decided to expel the three from the temple.

26 February 2015 It seems that humans aren't the only ones who need forgiveness. Bizarre footage has surfaced of a fugitive pig grovelling in front of a temple in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on Tuesday. Footage shows the animal kneeling on its forelimbs encircled by worshippers, as a Buddhist ceremony takes place inside the temple. The saintly swine reportedly stayed put for hours, and only left the scene after a group of monks emerged from inside and chanted a Buddhist scripture towards it.

It is the order's first overseas branch temple, and serves as the North American regional headquarters for Fo Guang Shan. महापरिनिर्वाण मंदिर से 1.5 कि.मी दूरी पर स्थित रामाभर स्तूप वह स्थान है जहा गौतम बुद्ध का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया था इस मंदिर की ऊंचाई लगभग 49 फ़ीट तक है इस मंदिर की बनावट बहुत अनोखी और आकर्षक है।

THE PATH OF WILDNESS
The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast's track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination
The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

Completed in 2004, the site is a collection of temples and statues located on Koh Samui, Thailand's second largest island. Wat Plai Laem's temples are active, set in a tranquil location, where quiet reflection is encouraged and appropriate attire is a must. One of the temple's most eye-catching figures is a nearly 100-foot tall statue of Buddha, painted in bright red, white and gold. But the main statue is the Buddhist goddess of compassion and mercy, Guanyin. There, she is represented with 18 arms, which shows her ability to help many people in need at once.

“Their actions go against the idea of harmony and peace of Buddhism,” said Qingchun Master, who has decided to expel the three from the temple.

Big Buddha Temple - Pattaya Thailand - Pratumnak hill - View point
Today I walked up to Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai Temple) on Pratumnak Hill in Pattaya Thailand where they have a Buddha for every day of the week. The stairs leading up to Big Buddha are guarded by to big long golden dragons on each side of the stairs. The dragon has more dragons coming out its mouth. Follow me to the top and enjoy the view of Pattaya and Jomtien from Pratumnak Hill. You will see people praying, washing Buddha and balancing coins for good luck. Also you will see people throwing coins in the stomach of fat Buddha who has a hole it his belly-button. And after I ring all the bells by hitting them with a stick… I find it very meditating to hit all the bells and hear the sounds.. Enjoy ! Did you like the video ? …. Tsem Rinpoche visits Buddha temples in Kelantan, Malaysia!
Today, August 8, 2011 I visited three large Buddhist temples in Kelantan, East Malaysia. They are Wat Machimmaram, Wat Pikulthong and Wat Photivihan. Wat means Temple or place of worship. I saw these temples on the internet some time back and wanted to visit. And now I have. Many tourists visit these temples and the taxis know how to get there also. Not a problem. I have filmed my visit for you to enjoy. If you can't get there right now, then visit through my video here. The temples are 45 minutes drive from the capital of Kelantan State which is Kota Bahru. It is a pleasant drive but very hot...take plenty of water, hat and umbrella if you can.... THE PATH OF WILDNESS
The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast's track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination
The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

Today, August 8, 2011 I visited three large Buddhist temples in Kelantan, East Malaysia. They are Wat Machimmaram, Wat Pikulthong and Wat Photivihan. Wat means Temple or place of worship. I saw these temples on the internet some time back and wanted to visit. And now I have.
Many tourists visit these temples and the taxis know how to get there also. Not a problem. I have filmed my visit for you to enjoy. If you can't get there right now, then visit through my video here.
The temples are 45 minutes drive from the capital of Kelantan State which is Kota Bahru. It is a pleasant drive but very hot...take plenty of water, hat and umbrella if you can.... I went to visit these temples with my blog team which consists of Beng Kooi, Justin Ripley, Ethan, Bryan, Seng Piow and Monlam.

As you might have noticed, I haven't been uploading... this year of uni is my last one so big changes are heading my way, and I'm working hard to prepare for them. I have so many things to get done before next summer that I haven't even got time to watch youtube, let alone make videos!

The term bojjhanga is composed of bodhi + anga. Bodh denotes enlightenment — to be exact, insight concerned with the realization of the four Noble Truths, namely: the Noble Truth of suffering; the Noble Truth of the origin of suffering; the Noble Truth of the cessation of suffering and the Noble Truth of the path leading to the cessation of suffering. Anga means factors or limbs. Bodhi + anga (bojjhanga), therefore, means the factors of enlightenment, or the factors for insight, wisdom.
"Bojjhanga! Bojjhanga! Is the saying, Lord. Pray, Lord, how far is this name applicable?" queried a monk of the Buddha. "Bodhaya samvattantiti kho bhikkhu tasma bojjhanga ti vuccanti" — "They conduce to enlightenment, monk, that is why they are so called," was the succinct reply of the Master.
Further says the Buddha, "Just as, monks, in a peaked house all rafters whatsoever go together to the peak, slope to the peak, join in the peak, and of them all the peak is reckoned chief: even so, monks, the monk who cultivates and makes much of the seven factors of wisdom, slopes to Nibbana, inclines to Nibbana, tends to Nibbana."
The seven factors are:
Mindfulness (sati)
Keen investigation of the dhamma (dhammavicaya)
Energy (viriya)
Rapture or happiness (piti)
Calm (passaddhi)
Concentration (samadhi)
Equanimity (upekkha)
