Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu (Batu River), which flows past the hill and also it is the tenth (Pattu in Tamil) limestone hill from Ampang. Batu Caves is also the name of the nearby village.
The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
Batu Caves in short also referred as 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga as there are 6 important holy shrines in India and 4 more in Malaysia. The 3 others in Malaysia are Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, Tanneermalai Temple in Penang and Sannasimalai Temple in Melacca.
It is also near a town called Jinjang where famous entrepreneur Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong had his vision to build his business empire.
The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Some of the cave entrances were used as shelters by the indigenous Temuan people (a tribe of Orang Asli).
Kuala Lumpur (/ˈkwɑːləˈlʊmpʊər/ or /-pər/; Malaysian pronunciation: [ˈkwalə ˈlumpʊr]) is the national capital and most populous global city in Malaysia. The city covers an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 1.6 million as of 2010.Greater Kuala Lumpur, covering similar area as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.5 million people as of 2012. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in South-East Asia, in terms of population and economy.
Kuala Lumpur is the seat of the Parliament of Malaysia. The city was once home to the executive and judicial branches of the federal government, but they were moved to Putrajaya in early 1999. Some sections of the judiciary still remain in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The official residence of the Malaysian King, the Istana Negara, is also situated in Kuala Lumpur. Rated as an alpha world city, Kuala Lumpur is the cultural, financial and economic centre of Malaysia due to its position as the capital as well as being a key city. Kuala Lumpur is defined within the borders of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and is one of three Malaysian Federal Territories. It is an enclave within the state of Selangor, on the central west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Since the 1990s, the city has played host to many international sporting, political and cultural events including the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the Formula One Grand Prix. In addition, Kuala Lumpur is home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers, which have become an iconic symbol of Malaysia's futuristic development.
Kartikeya (Tamil: Kārttikēyaṉ Sanskrit कार्त्तिकेय Kārttikēya "son of Kṛttikā" ) (/ˌkɑːrtɪˈkeɪjə/), also known as Murugan, Skanda, Kumaran, Kumara Swami and Subramaniya, is the Hindu god of war. He is the Commander-in-Chief of the army of the devas and the son of Shiva and Parvati.
Murugan (Tamil Murukaṉ) is often referred to as Tamiḻ kaṭavuḷ ("God of the Tamils") and is worshiped primarily in areas with Tamil influences, especially South India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Réunion. His six most important shrines in India are the Six Abodes of Murugan, temples located in Tamil Nadu. In Bengal, Odisha and Maharashtra, he is popularly known as Kartikeya.
The several names of Murugan of Tamil origin would include the following, Seyon, Senthil, Vēlaṇ, Kumāran ("prince, child, young one"), Svaminatha ("smart, clever"), Saravaṇa, Arumugam or Shanmuga ("having six faces"), Dandapani ("god with a club"), Guhan or Guruguha ("cave-dweller"), Subrahmanya, Kartikeya and Skanda "attacker". He was also known as Mahasena and the Kadamba dynasty worshiped him by this name.
Batu may refer to:
A cave or cavern is a hollow place in the ground, especially a natural underground space large enough for a human to enter. Caves form naturally by the weathering of rock and often extend deep underground. The word cave can also refer to much smaller openings such as sea caves, rock shelters, and grottos.
Speleology is the science of exploration and study of all aspects of caves and the cave environment. Visiting or exploring caves for recreation may be called caving, potholing, or spelunking.
The formation and development of caves is known as speleogenesis. Caves are formed by various geologic processes and can be variable sizes. These may involve a combination of chemical processes, erosion from water, tectonic forces, microorganisms, pressure, and atmospheric influences.
It is estimated that the maximum depth of a cave cannot be more than 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) due to the pressure of overlying rocks. For karst caves the maximum depth is determined on the basis of the lower limit of karst forming processes, coinciding with the base of the soluble carbonate rocks.

http://restlessfeet.co Hey friends! The girls and I made a trip over to Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We took the train from our KL Sentral to Batu Caves which cost us each a mere RM. 2.60 for a one-way ticket 0:20 The trip from KL Sentral to Batu Caves took about 35 minutes in total. 1:44 There is no fee to enter the main caves but before entering both men and women required to cover their legs below the knee so you may rent a a sarong from RM 5 and when the Sarong is returned they will give you a portion of your money back. 1:22 The stairs are to pretty steep and there are roughly 272 steps to get to the top. Mejoraste eternidad
Y olvidaste mi realidad.
Hoy ya no puedo
Creer en ti es algo tóxico
Pero borrarte de mi mente
Es más difícil que existir.
Renunciaste al porvenir
Me mataste y reviví.
Hoy ya no puedo
Creer en ti es algo tóxico
Pero borrarte de mi mente
Es más difícil que existir
Y ya no puedo resistir
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima
Que se secó
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima.
Proclamaste rivalidad
Y encontraste en mi
Hostilidad.
Hoy ya no puedo
Creer en ti es algo tóxico
Pero borrarte de mi mente
Es más dificil que vivir
Y ya no puedo resistir.
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima
Que se secó
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
