Michel Emile Kfoury (born September 15, 1974 in Hawch al Oumara, Zahlé, Lebanon), known by his stage name Wael Kfoury (وائل كفوري), is a Lebanese singer, musician, and songwriter. He is often called The king of romance.

Career

Wael studied solfège at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik.

Commercial deals

Kfoury signed a publicity campaign deal for PepsiCo's PepsiArabia affiliate. Kfoury was a star of PepsiCo sponsored "Bahr el Noujoum" (meaning of Sea of Stars) with a number of others.

In February 2009, he announced cooperation with LG Electronics for a search for future music stars.

Artist's activities

In August 2011, Wael Kfoury launched a tennis tournament that runs under his patronage and his management team. The tournament is entitled "Kfoury First In."

Personal life

Kfoury was married in Cyprus, in a civil ceremony, to Angela Bechara. Their relationship and marriage was kept a secret for some time from the press. The couple have a daughter named Michele, who was born September 10, 2011. Her name comes from the feminine equivalent of her father's real name Michel.

Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑrmɪn vɑn ˈbyːrə(n)]; born 25 December 1976) is a Dutch trance producer, DJ and radio personality.

Since 2001, Van Buuren has hosted a weekly radio show called A State of Trance, which currently has more than 20 million weekly listeners in 74 countries on over 150 FM radio stations. This radio show propelled him to stardom and helped cultivate an interest in trance music around the world.

Van Buuren has won a number of accolades. He has been ranked the World No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine in their annual Top 100 DJs fan poll a record of five times, 4 years in a row. He is currently ranked World No. 4 on DJ Magazine's list for 2015. In 2014, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his single "This Is What It Feels Like" featuring Trevor Guthrie, which makes him the fourth trance artist ever to receive a Grammy nomination. In the United States, he holds the record for most entries (21) on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. His 2008 studio album, Imagine, entered the Dutch album chart at No. 1, a first for a trance artist in Dutch music history.

Marinus Bernardus de Goeij, known as Benno de Goeij (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɛnoː də ˈɣui̯]; born on 19 May 1975) is a Dutch trance producer. He is perhaps best known for his participation in Rank 1 with Piet Bervoets, Kamaya Painters with Tiësto and Gaia with Armin van Buuren. Since 2008 de Goeij has been known as the co-producer behind the Dutch trance acts Armin van Buuren and Jochen Miller.

History

Early years (1996–1998)

Benno de Goeij began working as a producer in 1997 alongside Piet Bervoets whom he met at a party. They decided to create music of their own and created the duo Pedro & Benno with singles "Scream For Love", "Talkin' To You", and "Speechless" released under Karma Records. They also created tracks under various aliases like Precious People, Gualagara, A.I.D.A., Simplistic Mind, Two Disciples, R.O.O.S.

The Rank 1 project (1998–2003)

In 1998, Rank 1 was born as they thought it would be a perfect joke to see a group named Rank 1 at a number 1 position. This joke became real when "Airwave" hit numerous charts at that position. They also remixed Cygnus X's "Superstring" song and released an anthem for Sensation in 2001 known as "Such Is Life" from the album Symsonic. In 2003 they re-released "Breathing" which was another charting track since it was a more break beat version of "Airwave". In 1998 Tiësto and de Goeij created Kamaya Painters, with three successful singles.
