Walt Disney shows off a ride in production, "Pirates of the Caribbean" to Miss Disneyland-Tencennial.

It is amazing to see my favorite ride at Disneyland at this point in its life. During my first visit, my grandmother lost her wig on the second sharp waterfall drop. My father had to fish it out. Cemented my love of that ride forever.

Johnny Depp surprises Pirates of the Caribbean riders as live animatronic at Disneyland

Haha! Lucky riders on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland were treated to a live Jack Sparrow animatronics performance yesterday by Johnny Depp. He made a surprise visit to the park as part of a PR stunt. It's fun to hear the passengers as they realize that the real Johnny Depp is standing right in front of them. Read the rest

Monkey from Pirates of the Caribbean bites makeup artist's ear

Actors can be difficult, even when they aren't human. Yesterday in Australia, a Capuchin monkey playing Jack the Monkey snuck up behind a 54-year-old makeup artist and bit her on the ear. She wasn't part of Pirates of the Caribbean and was working on a different movie set. The bite caused bleeding, and she was rushed to the hospital, but the injury wasn't serious.

This wasn't the first animal snafu for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Last month Johnny Depp illegally brought his two dogs, Pistol and Boo, to Australia and is now facing fines up to $250,000. Read the rest
