Koro (band)

Koro were a short-lived hardcore punk band from Knoxville, Tennessee. They released one self-titled 7" EP in 1983 and recorded a demo for an unreleased LP entitled Speed Kills.

The EP consisted of eight short, furious songs in the vein of early Poison Idea and Deep Wound, clocking in at a cumulative total of just over six minutes, and was originally released with a pressing total of 500, although closer to 300 were actually sold. According to guitarist Carl Snow in an interview in 2002, the remainder were given to Jello Biafra when the band opened for the Dead Kennedys in Atlanta, and were subsequently lost. The band split up in 1984.

The self-titled 7" was re-released several times by bootleggers, but did not see official reproduction until the mid-90s, on the US Hardcore label, in a substandard copy of the original. Sorry State Records re-released the 7" in its original format with audio remastering in 2006. The label later released the Speed Kills LP in its entirety in 2006, completely remastered for 12" vinyl.

James David Maslow (born July 16, 1990) is an American actor, singer, youtuber, and songwriter best known for playing the role of James Diamond on Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush and is a member of the boy band with the same name. He also starred as Kevin Mohr on the SONY Crackle original series Sequestered.

In 2014, Maslow competed as a contestant on the eighteenth season of Dancing with the Stars, in which he reached fourth place.

Early life

Maslow was born in New York City, New York, and raised in La Jolla, California. His father is Jewish and his mother is Catholic; he was raised Jewish. He attended Hebrew school six days a week during his childhood, and celebrated becoming a Bar Mitzvah. He has described himself as a "religious and spiritual person".

At the age of six, Maslow began training as a singer when his parents placed him in the San Diego Children's Choir. He attended La Jolla and Torrey Pines elementary schools, Muirlands Middle School, and San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He had a small role in the San Diego Opera's production of La bohème when he was 10 years old. He attended acting camp at the La Jolla Playhouse, got his first agent when he was 14, and performed as Marius in a production of Les Misérables. Quitting the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SDSCPA) mid-way through the 10th grade, Maslow switched to Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA). He graduated from CoSA in 2007 in the musical theater department.

Lies (McFly song)

"Lies" is the fifteenth single from British pop rock band, McFly, released on 15 September 2008. "Lies" did not feature on the promotional 10-track copy of the album Radio:Active which was given away in The Mail on Sunday in July 2008, however it features as one of the four additional tracks on the retail edition of the album, which was released on 22 September 2008. The lead vocals for the song are split between band members Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, with vocal contributions from bassist Dougie Poynter.

Background

"Lyrically, Lies is definitely the darkest song we've ever written," says Tom Fletcher, who shares vocals on the track with Danny Jones. "It's about a real bitch of a girl who is out for herself and doesn't care who she uses to get what she wants. We did have a girl in mind when we wrote it, but really it's an amalgam of several girls we have met along the way. We hope she burns in hell at the end. A real good time tune then!" On 17 September 2008 the song was added to BBC Radio 1's A-List and BBC Radio 2's A-List.
