Somerset (i/ˈsʌmərsɛt/ or /ˈsʌmərsᵻt/) is a county in South West England which borders Gloucestershire and Bristol to the north, Wiltshire to the east, Dorset to the south-east and Devon to the south-west. It is bounded to the north and west by the Severn Estuary and the Bristol Channel, its coastline facing southeastern Wales. Its traditional border with Gloucestershire is the River Avon. Somerset's county town is Taunton.
Somerset is a rural county of rolling hills such as the Blackdown Hills, Mendip Hills, Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park, and large flat expanses of land including the Somerset Levels. There is evidence of human occupation from Paleolithic times, and of subsequent settlement in the Roman and Anglo-Saxon periods. The county played a significant part in the consolidation of power and rise of King Alfred the Great, and later in the English Civil War and the Monmouth Rebellion. The city of Bath is famous for its substantial Georgian architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The NatWest t20 Blast is a Twenty20 cricket league in England and Wales run by the ECB from 2014. The league consists of the 18 first-class county teams divided into two divisions of nine teams each. This setup, which was first announced in November 2013, replaced the Friends Life t20 competition as the main domestic Twenty20 competition in England and Wales.
The semi-finals and final of the competition are played consecutively on the same day and at the same ground, at the end of the competition. During finals day, there is a mascot derby, which is a race between mascots representing all 18 counties. Finals day is usually held at Edgbaston.
There are 18 clubs competing for the t20 title. These clubs are initially split into 2 divisions (North and South), each containing 9 teams, for the group stage of the competition. During the group stage (from May to July) each club plays 6 of the other teams in the same division twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents. They play the other two teams only once, for a total of 14 games each. Teams receive two points for a win and one point for a tie or if the match is abandoned. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then net run rate. At the end of the group stage, the top four teams from each group enter the knockout stage.

The sin of Gluttony comes first and the murderer's terrible capacity is graphically demonstrated in the dark and subdued tones characteristic of film noir. The seasoned and cultured but jaded Sommerset researches the Seven Deadly Sins in an effort to understand the killer's modus operandi while the bright but green and impulsive Detective Mills scoffs at his efforts to get inside the mind of a killer...

She tells her husband that when she was 14 years old and lived in an orphanage, a 25 year old man courted her, gave her lots of presents and finally wanted to marry her. She tried to avoid him, he raped her, and it all ended with him being imprisoned. She is sure that he now has come back. Step by step the foreigner escalates his terror against the couple, ending in an attempt to murder John. By sheer luck John is saved, while a colleague happens to be killed instead of him. As a final stroke the stranger tries to capture Pam in her home at night and kidnap her. When John and Pam try to call for help, they find out that their telephone line is cut off, and their car tires punctured. They can just sit in the darkness and wait for the stranger to arrive.

Dropping in on the Land’s End Farm, we visited with Roger Wilkins — whose enthusiasm for cider is in itself intoxicating. After a long day of making new TV shows, we had a riot filming Roger and his impromptu scrumpy pub. This is Day 74 of my 100 Days in Europe series. As I research my guidebooks and make new TV shows, I’m reporting on my experiences and lessons learned in Vienna, the Alps, the Low Countries, England, and beyond. Find more on my travel blog at http://blog.ricksteves.com.
More info about travel to England: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/england The countryside around Wells, England, is great for growing apples and you can visit farms that brew the authentic hard cider — known around here as "scrumpy." And at Land's End Cider Farm, Roger Wilkins is as old-school as it comes. Somerset After the Floods BBC Documentary 2015 The Somerset Levels are one of the most beautiful parts of Britain, but in the winter of 2013 they faced a natural disaster. One village, Moorland, was entirely engulfed by the floods. Deluged by water, the villagers watched helplessly as their lives and homes were washed away. This programme follows their year-long struggle to get home again after the water drained and media attention shifted away. Although the residents put on a brave face, the realities of their fate pile up - the refusal of insurance companies to pay up, and the months of delay with the builders. All this adds fuel to a heartfelt frustration that the floods were man-made and the nagging fear of what would happen to them if and when the waters return.

The Team are in a field just outside Bath to investigate the remains of what could have been one of the country's finest Georgian houses. The seach is on for Francis Popham's country house ¿ a mansion he planned on 'a most grand and magnificent scale'. Only five arches of the main portico remain above ground today, but because Georgian architecture is based on regular, fixed proportions, what remains ought to provide a good aid to working out the plan of the rest of the building.

The Royal Crescent in Bath may be one of Britain's finest structures - but that doesn't deter Tony Robinson, Mick Aston and the rest of the team from digging it up. Round the back should be a Roman cemetery and at the front should be the Fosse Way. Hours of torrential rain and an unexpected Victorian church cellar don't make life easier, but by day three they unveil Roman skeletons and a Roman road... even if neither is in quite the right place.
We met, deep down in Somerset
A time I can't forget
When we were sippin' cider in the shade
Oh the sun was setting in the West
You looked your very best that night
Stars were shining in your eyes
And we walked, walked all along the sand
And it felt, felt like a wonderland
And when the summer breeze was gone
The memory lingered on
You and me down in Somerset
Instrumental break
Oh we walked, walked and walked and walked all along the sand
And it felt just like our love just began
And when the summer breeze was gone
The memory lingered on, me and you
When the summer set
We met, we met, we met deep down in Somerset
