Truck driver charged over fatal crash on Monday south of Perth

A truck driver has been charged over Monday's fatal crash on Jandakot Road, which claimed the life of a 66-year-old man.

The crash happened on Jandakot Road in Banjup just before 4pm.

The collision occurred between a white Caterpillar truck, a silver Toyota Camry sedan and a white Hino truck near the intersection of Warton Road.

All vehicles were travelling in the same direction.

A 66-year-old male passenger in the Toyota died at the scene.

The 22-year-old male driver and a 69-year-old male passenger in the Toyota were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both truck drivers were not injured.

Overnight, Major Crash officers charged the driver of the Hino truck, a 21-year-old man from Cannington, with one count of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

He will appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
