The Syrian security forces does it again. Leaders of the Assyrians Democratic Organisation in Syria have been arrested. Also, the properties in the headquarter have been confiscated, as seen on the video. This is not the first time the Syrian security forces do such things to stop the Christian Assyrians in the country. Earlier they have stopped the Assyrians to celebrate big feasts.

The Syrian Civil War is an ongoing multi-sided armed conflict in Syriafought primarily between the government of President Bashar al-Assad, along with its allies, and various forces opposing the government.
The unrest in Syria, part of a wider wave of 2011 Arab Spring protests, grew out of discontent with the Assad government and escalated to an armed conflict after protests calling for his removal were violently suppressed. The war is being fought by several factions: the Syrian government and its allies, a loose alliance of Sunni Arab rebel groups (including the Free Syrian Army), the majority-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Salafi jihadist groups (including al-Nusra Front) and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
Syrian opposition groups formed the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and seized control of the area surrounding Aleppo and parts of southern Syria. Over time, some factions of the Syrian opposition split from their original moderate position to pursue an Islamist vision for Syria, joining groups such as al-Nusra Front and ISIL. In 2015, the People's Protection Units (YPG) joined forces with Arab, Assyrian, Armenian and some Turkmen groups, to form the Syrian Democratic Forces, while most Turkmen groups remained with the FSA.
Russia and Hezbollah support the Syrian government militarily, while beginning in 2014, a coalition of NATO countries began launching airstrikes against ISIL.
International organizations have accused the Syrian government, ISIL and rebel groups of severe human rights violations and of many massacres.
According to Amnesty Internationaland the pro-opposition SNHR, the largest number of these abuses were carried out by the Syrian government and its allies. The conflict has caused a major refugee crisis. Over the course of the war a number of peace initiatives have been launched, including the March 2017 Geneva peace talks on Syria led by the United Nations, but fighting continues.

Assyrian Democratic Organization
Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO), (Syriac: ܡܛܟܣܬܐ ܐܬܘܪܝܬܐ ܕܝܡܩܪܛܝܬܐ; Arabic: المنظمة الآثورية الديمقراطية) also known as "Mtakasta/Mtakasto", founded in Syria in 1957, is the oldest Assyrian political organization in Syria . The group is part of the Syrian opposition, and the Assad regime has long banned it from political life and restricted its activities in Syria.
The ADO was established as a national, political and democratic movement having with the objectives of safeguarding the existence of the Assyrian people and the realization of its legitimate national aspirations (political, cultural, administrative) in its historic homeland.

Syrian people
The Syrian people (Arabic: الشعب السوري / ALA-LC: al-sha‘ab al-Sūrī; Syriac: ܣܘܪܝܝܢ) are the inhabitants of Syria, and their ancestors who share a common Levantine Semitic ancestry. The term also refers to the citizens of Syria, regardless of ancestry, mother tongue, ethnic identity, or culture.
The cultural and linguistic heritage of the Syrian people is a blend of both indigenous elements and the foreign cultures that have come to rule the land and its people over the course of thousands of years.
The Syrian republic has a population of nearly 17 million as of 2014, in addition to 4 million Syrian refugees. The dominant racial group is the Syrian descendants of the old indigenous peoples who mixed with Arabs and identify themselves as such in addition to ethnic Aramean. The country also includes the following ethnic minorities: Armenians, Assyrians, Circassians, Greeks, Kurds, and Turkmens.
The Syrian diaspora consists of 15 million people of Syrian ancestry, who emigrated to North America (United States and Canada), European Union member states (including Sweden, France and Germany), South America (mainly in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Colombia), Australia, and Africa.

Breaking ground for an Assyrian military camp - Nineveh Plain Protection Units (NPU) Zowaa.org / Nineveh Plain / Iraq During the past few days days, the process of building a military camp for Nineveh Plain protect units (NPU) in one of the northern Nineveh plain area, Sennacherib sector has started. The initiation of construction of the camp to supplement the previous steps, which began in forming the first batch of NPU units and undergoing training and now comes creating a camp, where NPU will be stationed to be ready to share with the rest of the official military forces in the region for the Liberation of the Nineveh Plain and then grab the land liberated. A visit by Mr. Yacoob Gewargis and Dr. Duraid Hakmet Zuma member of the Political Bureau of the Assyrian Democratic Movement Zowaa and accompanied by Brigadier General Behnam and a number of NPU leaders to oversee the establishment of the camp and the progress of work done. The first steps which will hopefully be completed in the next short period. To shed more light on the subject, Mr. Yacoob Gewargis said, "The work in the completion of the military camp for NPU is the last stage in completing the project of Nineveh plain protection Units, which will be part of the forces that will liberate the region and will be a partner in the maintenance and security of the land liberated, and this really is for the people of the region to participate in holding their liberated land and protect it through the internal security (for them, by them). "He added," Any attempt by any party to the exclusion of people of the region to play their role in the liberation of their land will have negative results for the fact that the people of the region are looking to a different reality to what it was before the control of ISIS on the region, so the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government must enable and support the military forces that were formed or to be formed from the people of Nineveh plain components and consider them as official forces, and the state should treat them similar to People’s army and the popular Sunni tribal forces fighting ISIS in liberating their land and holding to it. It was announced also during the event that Pope Francis called the Foley’s family to speak with the parents and offer his condolences. Dr. Abdulfatah Elshaar mentioned that James was not only a dedicated journalist, son, and brother, but he was also a close friend of the SAMS (Syrian American Medical Society). He mentioned also that two years ago, James, as part of a group concerned journalists, raised nearly $12,000 for SAMS to pay for a much-needed ambulance in Aleppo, Syria. The vigil was organized by a group of nonprofit organizations that bring humanitarian aid to people in Syria. Through this event, a group of Syrian American activists wanted to pass the message that ISIS does represent neither them nor Islam in any way, shape or form. Nadia Alawa, the founder of NuDay Syria, who initiated the event, mentioned that Islam is about peace, love, tolerance, and freedom "ISIS is evil, ISIS is cancer. It needs to be eliminated and justice must prevail," Dr. Salman Malik of the Islamic Society of New Hampshire said. “As a member of the Muslim community, I am saddened that a bunch of savages hijacked our religion and have been committing arrestees in the name of Islam” Ahmed Rashidi, Egyptian American activist, said. George Stifo, President of the Assyrian Democratic Organization in the US, reminded the crowd that Syrians from different ethnicities and religions including Muslims, Christians, Jews, Arabs, Kurd, Assyrians, and others have lived together in peace for thousands of years without any problem. Now, we have these terrorist groups fighting every single individual in the country in disagreement with them regardless of his or her religion or ethnicity. He further mentioned that the world has to step up and stop these terrorists to prevent them from moving their ideology to other countries. The most powerful moment of this night was James Foley’s parents unexpectedly addressing and thanking the crowd that came in to honor their son. “He loved the Syrian people. He was devoted to telling the truth and do whatever he could to help them” John Foley, James Foley’s father, said. “ I pray that we will take up the challenge to love like James did and to really work for peace in this world” Diane Foley, James Foley’s mother, said “James Foley scarified his life for the sake of the freedom of Syrian people… Today, I announce myself as one of the Foley’s family.” Hamid Imam, Syrian American Activist, said.

Also, the properties in the headquarter have been confiscated, as seen on the video. The war is being fought by several factions: the Syrian government and its allies, a loose alliance of Sunni Arab rebel groups (including the Free Syrian Army), the majority-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Salafi jihadist groups (including al-Nusra Front) and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
Syrian opposition groups formed the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and seized control of the area surrounding Aleppo and parts of southern Syria. Over time, some factions of the Syrian opposition split from their original moderate position to pursue an Islamist vision for Syria, joining groups such as al-Nusra Front and ISIL. In 2015, the People's Protection Units (YPG) joined forces with Arab, Assyrian, Armenian and some Turkmen groups, to form the Syrian Democratic Forces, while most Turkmen groups remained with the FSA.
Russia and Hezbollah support the Syrian government militarily, while beginning in 2014, a coalition of NATO countries began launching airstrikes against ISIL.
International organizations have accused the Syrian government, ISIL and rebel groups of severe human rights violations and of many massacres.
According to Amnesty Internationaland the pro-opposition SNHR, the largest number of these abuses were carried out by the Syrian government and its allies. The conflict has caused a major refugee crisis. Over the course of the war a number of peace initiatives have been launched, including the March 2017 Geneva peace talks on Syria led by the United Nations, but fighting continues.

Breaking ground for an Assyrian military camp - Nineveh Plain Protection Units (NPU)

During the past few days days, the process of building a military camp for Nineveh Plain protect units (NPU) in one of the northern Nineveh plain area, Sennacherib sector has started. The initiation of construction of the camp to supplement the previous steps, which began in forming the first batch of NPU units and undergoing training and now comes creating a camp, where NPU will be stationed to be ready to share with the rest of the official military forces in the region for the Liberation of the Nineveh Plain and then grab the land liberated.
A visit by Mr. Yacoob Gewargis and Dr. Duraid Hakmet Zuma member of the Political Bureau of the Assyrian Democratic Movement Zowaa and accompanied by Brigadier General Behnam and a number of NPU leaders to oversee the establishment of the camp and the progress of work done. The first steps which will hopefully be completed in the next short period.
To shed more light on the subject, Mr. Yacoob Gewargis said, "The work in the completion of the military camp for NPU is the last stage in completing the project of Nineveh plain protection Units, which will be part of the forces that will liberate the region and will be a partner in the maintenance and security of the land liberated, and this really is for the people of the region to participate in holding their liberated land and protect it through the internal security (for them, by them). "He added," Any attempt by any party to the exclusion of people of the region to play their role in the liberation of their land will have negative results for the fact that the people of the region are looking to a different reality to what it was before the control of ISIS on the region, so the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government must enable and support the military forces that were formed or to be formed from the people of Nineveh plain components and consider them as official forces, and the state should treat them similar to People’s army and the popular Sunni tribal forces fighting ISIS in liberating their land and holding to it.

Rochester, NH: Hundreds of people from different nationalities, cultures, and religious backgrounds gathered Saturday August 23th, 2014 at the Rochester Commons in support and in honor of slain journalist James Foley, who was kidnaped and killed in Syria by the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS). It was announced also during the event that Pope Francis called the Foley’s family to speak with the parents and offer his condolences.
The 40 years old independent reporter believed in freedom for all and scarified his life to bring out the truth. Dr. Abdulfatah Elshaar mentioned that James was not only a dedicated journalist, son, and brother, but he was also a close friend of the SAMS (Syrian American Medical Society). He mentioned also that two years ago, James, as part of a group concerned journalists, raised nearly $12,000 for SAMS to pay for a much-needed ambulance in Aleppo, Syria.
The vigil was organized by a group of nonprofit organizations that bring humanitarian aid to people in Syria. Through this event, a group of Syrian American activists wanted to pass the message that ISIS does represent neither them nor Islam in any way, shape or form. Nadia Alawa, the founder of NuDay Syria, who initiated the event, mentioned that Islam is about peace, love, tolerance, and freedom
"ISIS is evil, ISIS is cancer. It needs to be eliminated and justice must prevail," Dr. Salman Malik of the Islamic Society of New Hampshire said. “As a member of the Muslim community, I am saddened that a bunch of savages hijacked our religion and have been committing arrestees in the name of Islam” Ahmed Rashidi, Egyptian American activist, said.
George Stifo, President of the Assyrian Democratic Organization in the US, reminded the crowd that Syrians from different ethnicities and religions including Muslims, Christians, Jews, Arabs, Kurd, Assyrians, and others have lived together in peace for thousands of years without any problem. Now, we have these terrorist groups fighting every single individual in the country in disagreement with them regardless of his or her religion or ethnicity. He further mentioned that the world has to step up and stop these terrorists to prevent them from moving their ideology to other countries.
The most powerful moment of this night was James Foley’s parents unexpectedly addressing and thanking the crowd that came in to honor their son.
“He loved the Syrian people. He was devoted to telling the truth and do whatever he could to help them” John Foley, James Foley’s father, said.
“ I pray that we will take up the challenge to love like James did and to really work for peace in this world” Diane Foley, James Foley’s mother, said
