A telescope is an instrument that aids in the observation of remote objects by collecting electromagnetic radiation (such as visible light). The first known practical telescopes were invented in the Netherlands at the beginning of the 17th century, using glass lenses. They found use in terrestrial applications and astronomy.
Within a few decades, the reflecting telescope was invented, which used mirrors. In the 20th century many new types of telescopes were invented, including radio telescopes in the 1930s and infrared telescopes in the 1960s. The word telescope now refers to a wide range of instruments detecting different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, and in some cases other types of detectors.
The word "telescope" (from the Ancient Greek τῆλε, tele "far" and σκοπεῖν, skopein "to look or see"; τηλεσκόπος, teleskopos "far-seeing") was coined in 1611 by the Greek mathematician Giovanni Demisiani for one of Galileo Galilei's instruments presented at a banquet at the Accademia dei Lincei. In the Starry Messenger, Galileo had used the term "perspicillum".
In electronics, a flip-flop or latch is a circuit that has two stable states and can be used to store state information. A flip-flop is a bistable multivibrator. The circuit can be made to change state by signals applied to one or more control inputs and will have one or two outputs. It is the basic storage element in sequential logic. Flip-flops and latches are a fundamental building block of digital electronics systems used in computers, communications, and many other types of systems.
Flip-flops and latches are used as data storage elements. A flip-flop stores a single bit (binary digit) of data; one of its two states represents a "one" and the other represents a "zero". Such data storage can be used for storage of state, and such a circuit is described as sequential logic. When used in a finite-state machine, the output and next state depend not only on its current input, but also on its current state (and hence, previous inputs). It can also be used for counting of pulses, and for synchronizing variably-timed input signals to some reference timing signal.

Cage the Elephant is an American rock band from Bowling Green, Kentucky, that formed in 2006. The group currently consists of vocalist Matthew Shultz, rhythm guitarist Brad Shultz, drummer Jared Champion and bassist Daniel Tichenor, as well as touring keyboardist/guitarist Matthan Minster and touring lead guitarist Nick Bockrath. Lincoln Parish served as the band's lead guitarist from their formation in 2006 until December 2013, when he left on good terms to pursue a career in producing. The band's first album, Cage the Elephant, was released in 2008 to much success, spawning several successful radio singles and gained the band a large following in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
Cage the Elephant are known for energetic live performances and for possessing an eclectic sound. The band's first album is influenced by classic rock, funk, and blues music. However, the band's second album, Thank You, Happy Birthday, displayed heavy influence by punk rock and bands such as the Pixies and Nirvana, while Melophobia was a concerted effort by the band to find its own distinct musical identity, and earned them a Grammy Award nomination in 2015 for Best Alternative Music Album. Cage the Elephant's fourth album, Tell Me I'm Pretty, produced by Dan Auerbach, was released on December 18, 2015.

Below are some of the telescopes I've used in recent years, ranging from ~30 -3000 dollars. (shortened for YTs character limits) Price $35 76mm reflector dobsonian mounted (Celestron Firstscope) Weight ~ 1kg (a couple of pounds) Setup time ~0 East of Transport 1 Short focal length- wide angle field of view. Finder not really necessary. Ultra cheap, good views of Moon, Jupiter Venus, rings of Saturn, bright, wide separation double stars, and brighter deep sky objects such as M13. I was not particularly impressed with the optics on mine, but for 35 bucks, you cant complain too much! Price $200 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain, dobsonian mount (Orion Apex) Weight ~ 1kg (a couple of pounds) Setup time ~0 East of Transport 1 Longer focal length means smaller field of view for compar...

Some of my videos of Mars, Saturn and Jupiter through my telescope, and the images that I process from them. If you want to see one of the world's best planetary imagers in action, look for Damian Peach on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/planetimager/videos?flow=grid&view;=0) or elsewhere on the web! His images are legendary! FAQ's: Q. Why is Jupiter upside down? A. Two reasons - 1) I am in the southern hemisphere, and this is the view that we have here, and 2) I didn't flip the image when I made the video (which would have made it 'technically' correct!) Q. Why can't I see any stars around the planets in the video? A. They are there, but the exposure settings on the camera are not set high enough to show them. If I exposed the images to see the stars, the planets would be great big...

Now I have climbed your walls
And walked along your salty pond
The love we trained went wild
Painted windows on the walls
Of a cavernous heart
Here's my telescope, here's my potato gun
Here's my dumb attempt to shoot into the sun
And every morning with the radio on
Not gonna sit around here and cry til you're gone
Now tears can't stop the fire
They're really more like candledrops
The wax is rolling down
In flames that char the paper walls
Of a cavernous heart
Here's my telescope, and here's my potato gun
And here's my dumb attempt to shoot into the sun
And every morning with the radio on
Not gonna sit around here and cry til you're gone
Now I am stranded here
Alone with you and everyone
The love we trained went wild
Painted windows on the walls
Of a cavernous heart
Here's my telescope, and here's my potato gun
And here's my dumb attempt to shoot into the sun
And every morning with the radio on
