Womack & Womack was the singing and songwriting partnership of American musicians Cecil Womack and his wife, Linda Womack. The duo were successful as songwriters for other artists, and had several international hits as a singing duo in the 1980s and 1990s. Later recordings, with other members of their family, were credited to The House of Zekkariyas.
In 1983, Cecil and Linda began performing and recording together as Womack & Womack, and released a successful album, Love Wars produced by Stewart Levine on Elektra Records. The first single from the album, "T.K.O.", reached the Billboard R&B; chart; the next single, "Love Wars", reached no.14 on the UK singles chart in early 1984, and the third single from the album, "Baby I'm Scared Of You", was successful in both the US (no. 25, R&B; chart) and the UK (no. 72). As with most of the tracks they recorded together, the songs were written by the pair. Drawing from their own, convoluted, personal experiences, Cecil and Linda, knowing each other since childhood, were experts at capturing the trials, travails and tribulations of love.
Cecil Dale Womack (September 25, 1947 – February 1, 2013) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was one of the musical Womack brothers (Bobby Womack), and had success both as a songwriter and recording artist, notably with his wife Linda as Womack & Womack. In later years he took the name Zekuuba Zekkariyas.
Womack became the second husband of Motown singer Mary Wells in 1967; they divorced in 1977. He also had a son born in 1966 from a prior relationship.
Cecil spent his final years traveling the world with his wife and children, and using his time to explore his African heritage, spirituality and knowledge of the continent as well as making music. He died of unknown causes in South Africa on February 1, 2013, at age 65.
Linda Womack,, also known as Zeriiya Zekkariyas, is an American singer and songwriter. Womack is the daughter of Sam Cooke, and with her husband Cecil Womack has had a successful recording career under the name Womack & Womack.
"I Wasn't Kidding" is a song by American recording artist Angie Stone. It was written by Andrea Martin and Adrian Austin for Stone's first compilation album Stone Hits: The Very Best of Angie Stone (2005), while production was overseen by Martin and Vada Nobles. The song is built around a sample from the 1983 record "Baby I'm Scared of You" as written and performed by Womack & Womack.

Trussel was a College based group from Virginia State College with lead vocalist Larry Tynes. Later when the group signed with Elektra they added a second lead vocalist Michael Spratley. In 1973 the group formed in the Snack Shop of Virginia State and were locally known as the Snack Shop Band. One day near VSC there was a train trestle, the drummer and co-founder Ron Buky Smith spoke with a lisp and said let's name the group TRUSSEL hence the spelling and pronounciation. The group then formed a record label in 1975. Under Bridge The Gap Records, they released two singles in 1976. "The Bi-Centennial Boogie" and "How Many Tricks". The next two release were "Beautiful People" and "Spread Love Everywhere". Both were well recorded and poorly promoted. The groups break came when a college friend Marvin Daniels (Chops - Southern Energy Ensemble) asked Bill would the group be willing to backup a young 15 year old girl out of Philadelphia who had signed with RCA. Reluctantly they did and became Evelyne Champagne Kings first touring band. They started with her when SHAME was a blip on the Disco Chart and were exiting when SHAME was on it's way to the top of the charts. The group tells the story about a gig at Broady's in NY where the whole RCA staff including the President came to see this new young talent. The band was so tight after years of playing the Mid-Atlantic College Circuit that RCA Producers Warren Schatz and Al Garrison came into the dressing room at the break and offered the group TRUSSEL a record deal with RCA. It never happened, the parents of Evelyn King became despondent with the management that had hooked her up with Trussel and fired the young black manager for a older white established management firm that worked with lots of RCA artist. Trussel being a loyal bunch of guys gave the original young manager 1 year to get them a record deal. So they left the road and went in to writing and preparing for the record deal that was sure to come. About a week before the year was to expire the group signed with Elektra for a three single studio budget. From that recording date in Philadelphia came "LOVE INJECTION", "GONE FOR THE WEEKEND", and a third single. "LOVE INJECTION" was released in the fall of 1979 and quickly became a New York Disco Hit. Most of the DJ's knew the group because of their many appearances in NYC and it helped that the term LOVE INJECTION caught on in the GAY community. So the song took off. In the mean time the young black manager turned the group over to a Philadelphia slickster who basically ripped the group off and mismanaged the release of the album. Elektra changed company presidents in the fall of 1979, the new guy in charge froze all of the Album budgets, including the Trussel budget even though the groups record was high on the Disco Charts and up on the R&B; Charts. Finally, the album Love Injection was released in March of 1980 but the single was a hit in the fall of 1979 and named a spring 1980 album release. They also refused to put the groups picture on the cover. Management eventually caused the group to refuse the offer of the second album, which they now acknowledge in hind sight was a mistake. Love Injection is listed as one of the Top 200 Disco records of all time.

Elektra Records
Elektra Records (now Elektra Entertainment Group Inc.) is an American major record label owned by Warner Music Group (WMG). It was founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman, and played an important role in the development of contemporary folk music and rock music between the 1950s and 1970s. In 2004, it was consolidated into WMG's Atlantic Records Group. After five years of dormancy, the label was revived as an imprint of Atlantic in 2009, and is now run by Jeff Castelaz.
History
Beginnings
Elektra was formed in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt in Holzman's St. John's College dorm room. Each invested $300. The usual spelling of the Greek mythological Pleiad Electra was changed. Holzman famously explained, “I gave her the ‘K’ that I lacked”. He found the 'C' in the original name "too soft" but liked the "solid bite" of the letter 'K', citing its use in the Kodak name.
The first Elektra LP, New Songs (EKLP 1 released March 1951), was a collection of Lieder and similar art songs, which sold few copies. During the Fifties and early Sixties, the label concentrated on folk music recordings, releasing a number of best-selling albums by Theodore Bikel, Ed McCurdy, Oscar Brand, Judy Collins, and protest singers such as Phil Ochs and Tom Paxton. Holzman also recorded Josh White, who was without a record deal as a result of McCarthyite blacklisting.

Background
Cecil Womack was born in 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, and performed with his older brothers Bobby (1944–2014), Harry (1945–1974), Friendly and Curtis, as a gospel group. After meeting Sam Cooke, they changed their name to The Valentinos and in 1961 began to sing and record "the devil's music" for secular audiences, to the horror of their religious father. The Valentinos had a hit record with "Lookin' for a Love," selling two million copies, later becoming a no. 39 U.S. hit for The J. Geils Band in 1971. They toured with James Brown and scored another crossover hit with “It's All Over Now”, a song which subsequently reached no. 1 in the UK when covered by The Rolling Stones in 1964. But the fall-out from Cooke's death – he was shot by a motel manager in Los Angeles in December 1964 – and Bobby Womack's marriage halted their progress.

Baby I
"Baby I" is a song recorded by American singer Ariana Grande for her debut studio album, Yours Truly (2013). It was written by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Antonio Dixon and Patrick "J. Que" Smith and produced by the first two. The song was released by Republic Records on July 22, 2013, as the second single from the album.
Background and release
In an interview with Complex, Grande reveals that "Baby I" was originally written by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds for Beyoncé. Grande also stated that it was actually Mac Miller who picked "Baby I" to be the second single for her album.
Grande opined that "Baby I" was more "sophisticated" and "mature" and showed off her musicality and vocals more than her previous hit single "The Way", which was part of what made her excited to release the song. She was revealing snippets of the song days before its release. The single was released to the digital retailer iTunes on July 22, 2013.
Composition
"Baby I" is an uptempo pop and R&B song that runs for a duration of three minutes and seventeen seconds. "Baby I" is set in common time at a tempo of 102 BPM in the key of C♯ major, and D Major after the bridge. It was written and produced by Babyface, Tony Dixon and j.Que. A writer from Rap-Up describes the track as a "summertime record" which features Grande's "big vocals" over a "breezy beat". Several critics noted the '90s R&B music influence demonstrated in "Baby I", which will also be musically present on the rest of her album, Yours Truly. Additionally, '70s disco energy is also present in the song, with PopCrush describing it as "Mariah Carey gone retro".

"I Believe" is the first single from female Japanese artist, Ayaka. It entered the Oricon charts at the tenth spot and slowly rose to number three, having a total of 236,012 sales. It was used as the drama Rondo's theme song.

Trussel was a College based group from Virginia State College with lead vocalist Larry Tynes. Later when the group signed with Elektra they added a second lead vocalist Michael Spratley. In 1973 the group formed in the Snack Shop of Virginia State and were locally known as the Snack Shop Band. One day near VSC there was a train trestle, the drummer and co-founder Ron Buky Smith spoke with a lisp and said let's name the group TRUSSEL hence the spelling and pronounciation. The group then formed a record label in 1975. Under Bridge The Gap Records, they released two singles in 1976. "The Bi-Centennial Boogie" and "How Many Tricks". The next two release were "Beautiful People" and "Spread Love Everywhere". Both were well recorded and poorly promoted. The groups break came when a college friend Marvin Daniels (Chops - Southern Energy Ensemble) asked Bill would the group be willing to backup a young 15 year old girl out of Philadelphia who had signed with RCA. Reluctantly they did and became Evelyne Champagne Kings first touring band. They started with her when SHAME was a blip on the Disco Chart and were exiting when SHAME was on it's way to the top of the charts. The group tells the story about a gig at Broady's in NY where the whole RCA staff including the President came to see this new young talent. The band was so tight after years of playing the Mid-Atlantic College Circuit that RCA Producers Warren Schatz and Al Garrison came into the dressing room at the break and offered the group TRUSSEL a record deal with RCA. It never happened, the parents of Evelyn King became despondent with the management that had hooked her up with Trussel and fired the young black manager for a older white established management firm that worked with lots of RCA artist. Trussel being a loyal bunch of guys gave the original young manager 1 year to get them a record deal. So they left the road and went in to writing and preparing for the record deal that was sure to come. About a week before the year was to expire the group signed with Elektra for a three single studio budget. From that recording date in Philadelphia came "LOVE INJECTION", "GONE FOR THE WEEKEND", and a third single. "LOVE INJECTION" was released in the fall of 1979 and quickly became a New York Disco Hit. Most of the DJ's knew the group because of their many appearances in NYC and it helped that the term LOVE INJECTION caught on in the GAY community. So the song took off. In the mean time the young black manager turned the group over to a Philadelphia slickster who basically ripped the group off and mismanaged the release of the album. Elektra changed company presidents in the fall of 1979, the new guy in charge froze all of the Album budgets, including the Trussel budget even though the groups record was high on the Disco Charts and up on the R&B; Charts. Finally, the album Love Injection was released in March of 1980 but the single was a hit in the fall of 1979 and named a spring 1980 album release. They also refused to put the groups picture on the cover. Management eventually caused the group to refuse the offer of the second album, which they now acknowledge in hind sight was a mistake. Love Injection is listed as one of the Top 200 Disco records of all time. Watch out y'all here comes the Boogie Doctor! How you boogie Doctor baby! As with most of the tracks they recorded together, the songs were written by the pair. Drawing from their own, convoluted, personal experiences, Cecil and Linda, knowing each other since childhood, were experts at capturing the trials, travails and tribulations of love.
Cecil Dale Womack (September 25, 1947 – February 1, 2013) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was one of the musical Womack brothers (Bobby Womack), and had success both as a songwriter and recording artist, notably with his wife Linda as Womack & Womack. In later years he took the name Zekuuba Zekkariyas.
Womack became the second husband of Motown singer Mary Wells in 1967; they divorced in 1977. He also had a son born in 1966 from a prior relationship.
Cecil spent his final years traveling the world with his wife and children, and using his time to explore his African heritage, spirituality and knowledge of the continent as well as making music. He died of unknown causes in South Africa on February 1, 2013, at age 65.
Linda Womack,, also known as Zeriiya Zekkariyas, is an American singer and songwriter. Womack is the daughter of Sam Cooke, and with her husband Cecil Womack has had a successful recording career under the name Womack & Womack.
"I Wasn't Kidding" is a song by American recording artist Angie Stone. It was written by Andrea Martin and Adrian Austin for Stone's first compilation album Stone Hits: The Very Best of Angie Stone (2005), while production was overseen by Martin and Vada Nobles. Trussel was a College based group from Virginia State College with lead vocalist Larry Tynes. Later when the group signed with Elektra they added a second lead vocalist Michael Spratley. In 1973 the group formed in the Snack Shop of Virginia State and were locally known as the Snack Shop Band. One day near VSC there was a train trestle, the drummer and co-founder Ron Buky Smith spoke with a lisp and said let's name the group TRUSSEL hence the spelling and pronounciation. The group then formed a record label in 1975. Under Bridge The Gap Records, they released two singles in 1976. "The Bi-Centennial Boogie" and "How Many Tricks". The next two release were "Beautiful People" and "Spread Love Everywhere". Both were well recorded and poorly promoted. The groups break came when a college friend Marvin Daniels (Chops - Southern Energy Ensemble) asked Bill would the group be willing to backup a young 15 year old girl out of Philadelphia who had signed with RCA. Reluctantly they did and became Evelyne Champagne Kings first touring band. They started with her when SHAME was a blip on the Disco Chart and were exiting when SHAME was on it's way to the top of the charts. The group tells the story about a gig at Broady's in NY where the whole RCA staff including the President came to see this new young talent. The band was so tight after years of playing the Mid-Atlantic College Circuit that RCA Producers Warren Schatz and Al Garrison came into the dressing room at the break and offered the group TRUSSEL a record deal with RCA. It never happened, the parents of Evelyn King became despondent with the management that had hooked her up with Trussel and fired the young black manager for a older white established management firm that worked with lots of RCA artist. Trussel being a loyal bunch of guys gave the original young manager 1 year to get them a record deal. So they left the road and went in to writing and preparing for the record deal that was sure to come. About a week before the year was to expire the group signed with Elektra for a three single studio budget. From that recording date in Philadelphia came "LOVE INJECTION", "GONE FOR THE WEEKEND", and a third single. "LOVE INJECTION" was released in the fall of 1979 and quickly became a New York Disco Hit. Most of the DJ's knew the group because of their many appearances in NYC and it helped that the term LOVE INJECTION caught on in the GAY community. So the song took off. In the mean time the young black manager turned the group over to a Philadelphia slickster who basically ripped the group off and mismanaged the release of the album. Elektra changed company presidents in the fall of 1979, the new guy in charge froze all of the Album budgets, including the Trussel budget even though the groups record was high on the Disco Charts and up on the R&B; Charts. Finally, the album Love Injection was released in March of 1980 but the single was a hit in the fall of 1979 and named a spring 1980 album release. They also refused to put the groups picture on the cover. Management eventually caused the group to refuse the offer of the second album, which they now acknowledge in hind sight was a mistake. Love Injection is listed as one of the Top 200 Disco records of all time.

Womack & Womack was the singing and songwriting partnership of American musicians Cecil Womack and his wife, Linda Womack. The duo were successful as songwriters for other artists, and had several international hits as a singing duo in the 1980s and 1990s. Later recordings, with other members of their family, were credited to The House of Zekkariyas. In 1983, Cecil and Linda began performing and recording together as Womack & Womack, and released a successful album, Love Wars produced by Stewart Levine on Elektra Records. Womack & Womack was the singing and songwriting partnership of American musicians Cecil Womack and his wife, Linda Womack. The duo were successful as songwriters for other artists, and had several international hits as a singing duo in the 1980s and 1990s. Later recordings, with other members of their family, were credited to The House of Zekkariyas.
In 1983, Cecil and Linda began performing and recording together as Womack & Womack, and released a successful album, Love Wars produced by Stewart Levine on Elektra Records. The first single from the album, "T.K.O.", reached the Billboard R&B; chart; the next single, "Love Wars", reached no.14 on the UK singles chart in early 1984, and the third single from the album, "Baby I'm Scared Of You", was successful in both the US (no. 25, R&B; chart) and the UK (no. 72). As with most of the tracks they recorded together, the songs were written by the pair. Drawing from their own, convoluted, personal experiences, Cecil and Linda, knowing each other since childhood, were experts at capturing the trials, travails and tribulations of love.
Cecil Dale Womack (September 25, 1947 – February 1, 2013) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was one of the musical Womack brothers (Bobby Womack), and had success both as a songwriter and recording artist, notably with his wife Linda as Womack & Womack. In later years he took the name Zekuuba Zekkariyas.
Womack became the second husband of Motown singer Mary Wells in 1967; they divorced in 1977. He also had a son born in 1966 from a prior relationship.
Cecil spent his final years traveling the world with his wife and children, and using his time to explore his African heritage, spirituality and knowledge of the continent as well as making music. He died of unknown causes in South Africa on February 1, 2013, at age 65.
Linda Womack,, also known as Zeriiya Zekkariyas, is an American singer and songwriter. Womack is the daughter of Sam Cooke, and with her husband Cecil Womack has had a successful recording career under the name Womack & Womack.
"I Wasn't Kidding" is a song by American recording artist Angie Stone. It was written by Andrea Martin and Adrian Austin for Stone's first compilation album Stone Hits: The Very Best of Angie Stone (2005), while production was overseen by Martin and Vada Nobles. The song is built around a sample from the 1983 record "Baby I'm Scared of You" as written and performed by Womack & Womack.

Womack & Womack was the singing and songwriting partnership of American musicians Cecil Womack and his wife, Linda Womack. The duo were successful as songwriters for other artists, and had several international hits as a singing duo in the 1980s and 1990s. Later recordings, with other members of their family, were credited to The House of Zekkariyas.
In 1983, Cecil and Linda began performing and recording together as Womack & Womack, and released a successful album, Love Wars produced by Stewart Levine on Elektra Records. The first single from the album, "T.K.O.", reached the Billboard R&B; chart; the next single, "Love Wars", reached no.14 on the UK singles chart in early 1984, and the third single from the album, "Baby I'm Scared Of You", was successful in both the US (no. 25, R&B; chart) and the UK (no. 72). As with most of the tracks they recorded together, the songs were written by the pair. Drawing from their own, convoluted, personal experiences, Cecil and Linda, knowing each other since childhood, were experts at capturing the trials, travails and tribulations of love.
Cecil Dale Womack (September 25, 1947 – February 1, 2013) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was one of the musical Womack brothers (Bobby Womack), and had success both as a songwriter and recording artist, notably with his wife Linda as Womack & Womack. In later years he took the name Zekuuba Zekkariyas.
Womack became the second husband of Motown singer Mary Wells in 1967; they divorced in 1977. He also had a son born in 1966 from a prior relationship.
Cecil spent his final years traveling the world with his wife and children, and using his time to explore his African heritage, spirituality and knowledge of the continent as well as making music. He died of unknown causes in South Africa on February 1, 2013, at age 65.
Linda Womack,, also known as Zeriiya Zekkariyas, is an American singer and songwriter. Womack is the daughter of Sam Cooke, and with her husband Cecil Womack has had a successful recording career under the name Womack & Womack.
"I Wasn't Kidding" is a song by American recording artist Angie Stone. It was written by Andrea Martin and Adrian Austin for Stone's first compilation album Stone Hits: The Very Best of Angie Stone (2005), while production was overseen by Martin and Vada Nobles. The song is built around a sample from the 1983 record "Baby I'm Scared of You" as written and performed by Womack & Womack.

Trussel was a College based group from Virginia State College with lead vocalist Larry Tynes. Later when the group signed with Elektra they added a second lead vocalist Michael Spratley. In 1973 the group formed in the Snack Shop of Virginia State and were locally known as the Snack Shop Band. One day near VSC there was a train trestle, the drummer and co-founder Ron Buky Smith spoke with a lisp and said let's name the group TRUSSEL hence the spelling and pronounciation. The group then formed a record label in 1975. Under Bridge The Gap Records, they released two singles in 1976. "The Bi-Centennial Boogie" and "How Many Tricks". The next two release were "Beautiful People" and "Spread Love Everywhere". Both were well recorded and poorly promoted. The groups break came when a college friend Marvin Daniels (Chops - Southern Energy Ensemble) asked Bill would the group be willing to backup a young 15 year old girl out of Philadelphia who had signed with RCA. Reluctantly they did and became Evelyne Champagne Kings first touring band. They started with her when SHAME was a blip on the Disco Chart and were exiting when SHAME was on it's way to the top of the charts. The group tells the story about a gig at Broady's in NY where the whole RCA staff including the President came to see this new young talent. The band was so tight after years of playing the Mid-Atlantic College Circuit that RCA Producers Warren Schatz and Al Garrison came into the dressing room at the break and offered the group TRUSSEL a record deal with RCA. It never happened, the parents of Evelyn King became despondent with the management that had hooked her up with Trussel and fired the young black manager for a older white established management firm that worked with lots of RCA artist. Trussel being a loyal bunch of guys gave the original young manager 1 year to get them a record deal. So they left the road and went in to writing and preparing for the record deal that was sure to come. About a week before the year was to expire the group signed with Elektra for a three single studio budget. From that recording date in Philadelphia came "LOVE INJECTION", "GONE FOR THE WEEKEND", and a third single. "LOVE INJECTION" was released in the fall of 1979 and quickly became a New York Disco Hit. Most of the DJ's knew the group because of their many appearances in NYC and it helped that the term LOVE INJECTION caught on in the GAY community. So the song took off. In the mean time the young black manager turned the group over to a Philadelphia slickster who basically ripped the group off and mismanaged the release of the album. Elektra changed company presidents in the fall of 1979, the new guy in charge froze all of the Album budgets, including the Trussel budget even though the groups record was high on the Disco Charts and up on the R&B; Charts. Finally, the album Love Injection was released in March of 1980 but the single was a hit in the fall of 1979 and named a spring 1980 album release. They also refused to put the groups picture on the cover. Management eventually caused the group to refuse the offer of the second album, which they now acknowledge in hind sight was a mistake. Love Injection is listed as one of the Top 200 Disco records of all time.

Eclection - Eclection [1968] (Full Album Expanded)
Eclection were a British-based folk rock band, originally formed in 1967 in London by Norwegian-born Georg Kajanus (then known as Georg Hultgreen), Canadian Michael Rosen, Australians Trevor Lucas and Kerrilee Male, and Briton Gerry Conway. They released one album on Elektra Records before singer Kerrilee Male left to be replaced by Dorris Henderson, but the group broke up in December 1969. One of the few British acts on the Elektra roster during that era, their sole album (Eclection, 1968) sounded unusually Californian for a British group of the period. While at their core they were melodic, slightly bittersweet folk-rock, the production - by Ossie Byrne (who also worked with the early Bee Gees) - was overlaid with frequent soaring light orchestration reminiscent of that heard on numerou...

The band signed to Elektra Records in 1982 and set about remixing and partially re-recording their debut album for a mass audience. In addition, the tracks were resequenced and the track "Stick To Your Guns" was omitted completely. "Stick To Your Guns" was released as a single to promote the original album, with "Toast Of The Town" as the B-side (which was exclusive to the single). Once the Crüe were freed of their contract with Elektra in the late 1990s, they set about reissuing their material in a remastered CD series dubbed "Crücial Crüe." The corresponding edition of "Too Fast For Love" included both "Stick To Your Guns" and "Toast Of The Town" after years of obscurity. However, the original mix of the album remained isolated to the initial print run until the 2004 box set "Music To Crash Your Car To, Vol. 1" was released, which contained the entirety of both mixes of the album as well as bonus tracks and demos. This video is comprised of a digital conversion of the original vinyl, both the album and the "Toast Of The Town" single.

One of the few British acts on the Elektra roster during that era, their sole album (Eclection, 1968) sounded unusually Californian for a British group of the period. While at their core they were melodic, slightly bittersweet folk-rock, the production - by Ossie Byrne (who also worked with the early Bee Gees) - was overlaid with frequent soaring light orchestration reminiscent of that heard on numerous late '60s Californian sunshine pop discs. Their multi-part harmonies, too, were very much in the Californian pop-folk mold, particularly due to the combination of male and female voices, which could variously recall the Mamas & the Papas, the Jefferson Airplane, the Seekers, and the We Five. Original female singer Kerrilee Male, in particular, sounded much like the slightly strident yet moving woman singers heard in the Seekers, We Five, and early Airplane. The band's self-titled album, Eclection, was released in August 1968. Eight of the songs were written by Hultgreen, and the remaining three by Rosen. Hultgreen and Rosen also shared the lead vocals with Kerrilee Male, although most critics commented on the strength of Male's voice.

Eclection's sole album is very much a period piece of its era, albeit an attractive and at times intriguing one. At root this is slightly melancholy folk-rock with a strong Californian influence, particularly in the blends of six-string and twelve-strings, of acoustic and electric guitars, and of male and female vocal harmonies. What sets this off slightly from the Seekers and the Mamas and the Papas is the ornate production by Ossie Byrne, and particularly the pseudo-baroque orchestral arrangements by Phil Dennys. It's also set off somewhat from the most commercial Californian pop-folk-rock by the slightly spacy, psychedelic aura of the lyrics, even if the sentiments are about as misty dew-eyed as they come in folk-rock.
