Sloan may refer to:
The Lines were a four-piece indie rock band from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England who were signed to Amboy Road Records, although previously had released their debut single on Weekender Records in February 2008.
The Lines formed in 2006 with lifetime school friends Dean Bate and Alex Ohm. The Lines released their debut single 'Domino Effect' on Weekender Records on February 25, 2008, and achieved number ten in the UK Charts. Edwards & Titley left the group in late 2008.
The Lines achieved various support slots between 2006-2008 which have included The Killers, Editors, The Maccabees, The Twang, The Charlatans, Babyshambles, Jack Peñate, Supergrass, Ian Brown and Good Shoes. They also headlined at Birmingham ArtsFest and the Bang Music Festival at Donington Park, in front of 80,000 people.
On February 11, 2008, the band performed an acoustic version of their debut single during the half-time at the Wolverhampton Wanderers versus Stoke City Championship football match to more than 28,000 people. During early 2008, the Lines toured the UK in support of Little Man Tate (band), at concerts throughout & after the tour Little Man Tate (band) have claimed The Lines blew them off the stage every night, and were said to be the best band in the UK. The Lines staged concerts of their own, including sell-out shows at local Wolverhampton venues Little Civic, Civic Bar and, on February 23, 2008, the 1,200 capacity Wulfrun Hall.
"The Lines You Amend" is a song by Canadian rock band Sloan, and the third single released from their 1996 album, One Chord to Another. The song was written by Jay Ferguson. It is the band's first song written by Ferguson to be released as a single.
Bassist-vocalist Chris Murphy described the song as being "about suicide", and said, "We sort of breeze through it like it's a cutesy number, but the lyrics are heavy." One lyric makes reference to Ringo Starr's song "Photograph".
The song has been praised by critics for its melodic strength, with one critic describing it as "Beatle-esque pop".Billboard magazine's critic suggested it was in the style of Violent Femmes.Rolling Stone's critic wrote that the song begins sounding like "The Ballad of John and Yoko", but then becomes "a likable hybrid of T. Rex and Crowded House."
Portions of the music video were filmed in a York University lecture hall.
"Everything You've Done Wrong" is the second single from Canadian band Sloan's 1996 album, One Chord to Another. It is the band's highest charted single ever in Canada, reaching #6 on Canada's RPM Singles Chart.
The music video for "Everything You've Done Wrong" was directed by Chris Soos and features the band playing at a wedding. The video begins with Andrew Scott playing "Junior Panthers" (a song from One Chord to Another) on piano behind the curtain. He then joins the rest of the band on the stage and the band proceeds to play. As they are playing, the band witnesses all the things going wrong at the wedding. Near the end of the song, several Sloan fans enter the room to watch the band.
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

Plot: Ramon the alligator is flushed down the toilet as a baby and grows into a gargantuan monster by eating the corpses of laboratory animals who have undergone dubious hormone experiments, thus providing all the ecological and social subtext that one could possibly wish for, even if one doesn't normally go for films about giant alligators eating people left, right, and center--which is the inevitable and tragic result of Ramon's decision that the outside world looks rather more interesting than the sewers....

This is a good coupling on the part of The Newsroom writers. It is just each quirk and awkwardness to make it entertaining and worth rooting for. Sloan and Don are having a great time together and as the day progresses, so does the categorization of their romantic situation. These clips demonstrate why I will miss Sloan Sabbith at the end of this series.
Track 7 from the "One Chord to Another" album (1996).
Music video for "Losing California" by Sloan. This song was the first single off their 1999 album "Between the Bridges". This video cost $60,000 to make. Previously I made a disparaging comment in this description about how I didn't think it should have cost that much (leading to a variety of comments below). Now, 5 years later, I formally recant. I'm sorry, Sloan, I'm sure the cost of this music video was completely justified. I do not claim ownership over any aspect of this music video. If you like this, be sure to check out other stuff by Sloan and support them! http://www.sloanmusic.com/
She was underwhelmed If that's a word I know it's not 'Cause I looked it up That's one of those skills That I learned in my school I was overwhelmed And I'm sure of that one 'Cause I learned it Back in grade school When I was young She said, "You is funny" I said, "You are funny" She said, "Thank you" And I said, "Never mind" And she rolled her eyes Her beautiful eyes The point is not the grammar It's the feeling That is certainly in my heart But not in hers But not in hers But not in hers But not in hers We were talkin' about people That eat meat I felt like an ass 'Cause I was one She said, "It's okay" But I felt like I just ate my young She's obviously A person with a cause I told her that I don't smoke or drink She told me to loosen up On her way to ...

Hey guys! In this video, I demostrate all of the steps to properly rebuild a Sloan flushometer valve. It is really quite simple as long as you follow this procedure and make sure you have ALL the parts you could need in your hand before starting. I rebuild the sloan valves annually in the buildings I manage as a preventative measure. This is my debut video with my new camera hat, by the way!

I can't tell you what I want to
I can't tell you I can smell you a mile away
Measured arms you've flexed before, next to a battleship
You made me mad, I made you sad and now I'm glad you're gone
Take me on
Take me on
Count to ten, I'll be there, tone it down, I'll be in the barrel
Point came for you to be Glenn Close to me
Can't you see I can't be, P P I M I S S
I assess the situation differently
You should hit the median strip
You should hit the median strip
Take me on
Take me on
Three day benders set you straight
Two flights were both on time
To fight was on your mind
Tonight I don't feel fine
Feel free to dwell on what you feel
Free to say I don't feel free
You've made me mad, and now I've had
To say that I was wrong
You should hit the median strip
You should hit the median strip
Take me on
Take me on
