Devon

Devon (/ˈdɛvən/; archaically known as Devonshire) is a county of England, reaching from the Bristol Channel in the north to the English Channel in the south. It is part of South West England, bounded by Cornwall to the west, Somerset to the northeast, and Dorset to the east. The City of Exeter is the county town; seven other districts of East Devon, Mid Devon, North Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torridge, and West Devon are under the jurisdiction of Devon County Council; Plymouth and Torbay are each a part of Devon but administered as unitary authorities. Combined as a ceremonial county, Devon's area is 6,707 km² (2,590 square miles) and its population is about 1.1 million.

Devon derives its name from Dumnonia, which, during the British Iron Age, Roman Britain, and Early Medieval was the homeland of the Dumnonii Brittonic Celts. The Anglo-Saxon settlement of Britain resulted in the partial assimilation of Dumnonia into the Kingdom of Wessex during the eighth and ninth centuries. The western boundary with Cornwall was set at the River Tamar by King Æthelstan in 936. Devon was constituted as a shire of the Kingdom of England thereafter.

Devon Seron

Devon Seron is a Filipina actress and a television personality. She started as a contestant in a reality TV show and was voted as the Teen Big 4th Placer on the final night of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010. Following her success, Devon signed exclusively to be one of the members of ABS-CBN contracted talents.

Personal life

Seron grew up in a squatters area and attended the nearest public schools in town. Devon has scoliosis, a medical condition that was detected in her early childhood years. Despite their financial issues, her parents decided to move her to an expensive private school close to their home to minimize her walking distance. Big Brother offered to pay the remainder of her tuition so she could graduate high school. Devon was chosen among thousands of other contestants from different regions of the country to enter the PBB house. On week 6, her mother joined her inside the house disguised as a house player in return of her college scholarship funds.

Devon is very much engaged in her showbiz commitments while managing her school work to finish her degree in Business Management. .

The Voice (TV series)

The Voice is a reality television singing competition franchise. It is based on the reality singing competition The Voice of Holland, which was originally created by Dutch television producer John de Mol. Many other countries have adapted the format and began airing their own versions since 2011. It has become a rival to the Idols franchise and The X Factor.

History

John de Mol, creator of Big Brother, first created The Voice concept with Dutch singer Roel van Velzen. The show distinguishes itself as different from The X Factor and Idols as The Voice primarily focuses on singing ability and prowess of an artist alone.

On September 17, 2010, The Voice of Holland began to air on RTL 4 with Angela Groothuizen, Roel van Velzen, Nick & Simon, and Jeroen van der Boom as the mentor-judges (dubbed as "coaches") of the show. The show proved to be an instant success in the Netherlands.

The format was later sold to different countries.

Format

Contestants are aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. The show's format features four stages of competition. The first is the blind auditions, in which the four coaches, all noteworthy recording artists, listen to the contestants in chairs facing away from the stage so as to avoid seeing them. If a coach likes what they hear from that contestant, they press a button to rotate their chairs to signify that they are interested in working with that contestant. If more than one coach presses their button, the contestant chooses the coach he or she wants to work with. The blind auditions end when each coach has a set number of contestants to work with. Coaches will dedicate themselves to developing their singers mentally, musically and in some cases physically, giving them advice, and sharing the secrets of their success.

The Voice Kids is an upcoming reality talent competition created by John de Mol, set to premiere sometime in 2017.

Speculation

A junior version of The Voice UK first came to terms when John de Mol "hoped" that the BBC would launch The Voice Kids UK in the future.The Voice UK coach, will.i.am also stated that he wanted youngsters to audition for a junior version of that singing competition, which he told the public in 2013.

Scheduling

The show announced in November 2015, beginning when the BBC revealed that they would not air The Voice UK for a fifth series, by their television channel.ITV later confirmed plans for airing a sixth series of The Voice aired by them, with a UK version of The Voice Kids and a untitled spinoff show to be aired on ITV2 sometime in 2017.

It will be produced by Warner Bros. UK and Talpa Productions. No judges or presenters have been announced as of January 2016, but development has begun however.

Format

Blind auditions

The first shown stage is the blind auditions, where they sing in front of the coaches. The coaches have their backs to the singer, and if they like what they hear, they can press their button to turn around and recruit them to their team. If more than one coach turns, the power shifts to the singer, who then decides which team they would like to be part of. Each coach must recruit 12 singers to their team in the blind auditions to progress on to the battle phase.

Plot: Wade Mann, is convinced that the independently wealthy lifestyle is the life for him. Joined by his drinking buddies, and financed by his mother, they open Global Future, an office for marketing environmentally friendly products. Ads in the local paper entice tree-huggers to an interview that quickly turns into a pyramid pitch. One such ad brings in Dave Dodge, a man who walks the fine line between genius and insane. Soon, Wade is inundated by Dave and his followers, a modern-day drum circle. The two worlds and collide as the business spirals down and the drums rise up. With its original musical sense and a visual style all of its own, Naked Nerve Endings will make you filthy rich, just sign on the dotted line. The project started when director Lance Lindahl encountered an African Drum Circle. He had thoughts of a script about pyramid scheme and random people coming in off of ads in the newspaper. Merging the concept with the drum circle gatherings, he began to develop the story of Wade Mann, a mid twenties man who leaps for the chance on a get rich quick scheme. They buy a desk, chairs, and office supplies, as well as the over priced environmental friendly products to get him his mother and his best friend Tony started in the business. After running ads, they draw in Dave Dodge, the stories antagonists. Davis is a nine-year member and seven year director of Stomp! He brings a great style of acting as well as original music from both him and the drummers. So Davis' character attends the so-called interview, and jokes at the opportunity of riches, but insists he and his followers shall perform drum circles in the back room of the office. Wade, under pressure gives in, and the back room of the office turns into a meeting of all the local area hippies involved in the drumming. You either sell soap or make it. The project was shot on 24p with one of the best cinematographers in the mini-dv generation. Erik Murphy has shot nine features with this being the summation of his intuitive camera work.
