Naqvis

The Naqvi sadah (Arabic: السادة النقاويين‎) are people with the last name "Naqvi" and who are direct descendants of the Islamic prophet Muhammad through the lineage of the Imam Ali al-Naqi. Ali Naqi was the 10th Twelver Shi'a imam and direct descendant of the daughter of Muhammad, Fatimah and her husband Ali, the first Shi'a imam, believed by them to be the successor of the Muhammad. Some Naqvis trace their ancestry back to Ali al-Naqi through his son Ja'far al-Sani, while others trace it through his other son, Husain ul Asghar.

The descendants of Ali al-Naqi are primarily found in Pakistan but are spread across the globe.

The difference of opinion with regard to number of sons of Imam Ali Al-Naqi is acceptable but not confirmed. The statement of 7 sons has been made by Moulvi Syed Basheer Hussain compiler of book "Shajrat-e-Saddat-e-Amroha" who describes son names:

Asaduddin Owaisi

Asaduddin Owaisi (born 13 May 1969) is an Indian politician, who is the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. He is a three-time Member of Parliament (MP), representing the Hyderabad constituency in Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Indian Parliament. He was honoured with Sansad Ratna Award for overall best performance in 15th Lok Sabha in 2014.

Early life

Asaduddin Owaisi was born in Hyderabad, Telangana (former undivided Andhra Pradesh). His father Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi was also a politician from Hyderabad, for six consecutive terms. His mother's name is Najamunnisa. Owaisi studied at the Hyderabad Public School and the St. Mary's Junior College, Hyderabad. He graduated as a Bachelor of Arts from the Nizam College, Osmania University. He later went to London, where he studied L.L.B, and Barrister-at-Law (Lincolns Inn), England. He is often referred as Naqeeb-e-Millat ("Leader of the community") by his supporters. He has two younger brothers, Akbaruddin Owaisi and Burhanuddin Owaisi. Akbar is the member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from the Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency, while Burhanuddin is the editor of the local Urdu daily "Etemad".
