大阪に住んでいる人にはお馴染みの道路です。中央環状線を阪奈道路の西側から入って中国池田ICまで走行しました。走りやすいかと言われたらうーんどうなんでしょうか。無料で早くは行けるけど慣れないと怖い道路ですね。たまに渋滞もあります。

大阪府の北東で大阪市と京都市のほぼ中間に位置し、面積105.31㎢、人口355,045人(2016.2末)の中核市。安土桃山時代、キリシタン大名で知られている高山右近が領主となり、この地でキリスト教が広まったこともあった。江戸時代には高槻城の城下町、西国街道「芥川宿」の宿場町として栄え、明治22年(1889年)の町村制施行に伴い高槻村が成立した。市制を施行したのは昭和18年(1943年)で、平成15年(2003年)には大阪府内では現在政令市の堺市に次いでの2番目の中核市に移行した。
静岡県からのアクセスは、東海道新幹線で京都まで行き、東海道線(京都線)に乗り換え京都から高槻まで「新快速」で約10分。
中心市街地は、JR高槻駅周辺から阪急高槻市駅、国道171号線付近までのエリア。
直線距離で約500mというJR高槻駅と阪急高槻市駅の二つの位置関係が離れすぎず近すぎず、絶妙なバランスを活かした都市だった。

東海道線(京都線)が乗り入れ、1日当たりの乗車人員(2014年度)は62,874人。駅は地上駅の橋上駅舎で、改札外の南北自由通路が南口と北口を結ぶ。駅ビルは、カフェやクリニックなどが入る地上6階建ての複合ビル「JR高槻駅NKビル」が北口にある。

アクトアモーレのビルの中の路面店のほか、大手外食チェーン店などもあった。

全長約320mの商店街。飲食店が多く夜の街という雰囲気があったが、JRと阪急のそれぞれの駅を結ぶ位置にあるということもあり昼も夜も賑わっている通り。

戦国時代の1573年、キリシタン大名の高山右近が和田氏を滅ぼし高槻城の城主となった。1581年にはイタリアの巡察師「ヴァリニャーノ」を招き、復活祭というキリスト教のイベントが日本で最初にこの高槻で催された。江戸時代に入ってから約230年間「永井氏」の藩政が続いたが、明治7年(1874年)の鉄道敷設に伴い高槻城の木材や石垣が使われ城は破却し、現在では城跡公園となり市民の憩いの場となっている。

Osaka Prefecture (大阪府, Ōsaka-fu) is a prefecture located in the Kansai region on Honshu, the main island of Japan. The capital is the city of Osaka. It is the center of Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto area. Osaka is one of the two "urban prefectures" (府, fu) of Japan, Kyoto being the other (Tokyo became a "metropolitan prefecture", or to, in 1941).
History
Until the Meiji Restoration, the area of Osaka prefecture was known as Kawachi, Izumi, and Settsu provinces.
Osaka Prefecture was created on June 21, 1868, at the very beginning of the Meiji era. During the instigation of Fuhanken Sanchisei in 1868, the prefecture received its suffix fu, designating it as an urban prefecture.
On September 1, 1956, the city of Osaka was promoted to a city designated by government ordinance and thereby divided into 24 wards.
In 2000, Fusae Ota became Japan's first female governor when she replaced Knock Yokoyama, who resigned after prosecution for sexual harassment.
On April 1, 2006: the city of Sakai was promoted to a city designated by government ordinance and thereby divided into seven wards.

The Seishun 18 Ticket is a great way to travel around Japan. For just ¥2,370 a day you can go from Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka or anywhere else you would like to go! The ticket is ¥11,850(around $118USD) and you get 5 days of unlimited rides on the local and rapid JR trains. I love this ticket and have used it a number of times - it does take longer to get to the destinations than if you were to take a bullet train but you know what they say ... "Japan Off The Beaten Path" is a new series on my channel, where I show you more of the unknown areas/prefectures in Japan and encourage you to travel and visit areas other than the common places such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
In this first episode, we visit and explore around Akita Prefecture in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu, the main island of Japan.
I came here during Autumn(end of October), which is the perfect time to come to see the autumn foliage!

-Nanataki Waterfall

・Blue Marine Cafe Boat Rental
-Okuoku Hachikurou Onsen
-Korakukan Theater

-Hokushu Club (Kiritampo-nabe stew)
Signature dish in Akita
-Tonkatsu Kuritai (Katsu-curry-ramen)
Only found in Kosaka(town in Akita)
-Hinai Ya (ate Hinai Jidori chicken Oyakodon)
Many things in Odate use the famous hinai free range chicken so make sure to try it out.
-Hanazen (Tori-meshi Bento)

As for transportation, it takes 4 hours to get from Tokyo station to Akita station via the Akita Komachi Bullet Train.
It costs around ¥17,000($160 USD) however if you have the JR pass you just have to pay the small fee of the reserved seat on the Shinkansen(all seats are reserved).
Or if you are going up to Hokkaido or coming back down from Hokkaido, you can change at the Shin-Aomori station and take the local JR train down to Odate station.
Going back to Tokyo from Shin-Aomori station is also possible by taking the Hayabusa bullet train. (Around ¥17,000)
Even though Akita is in Japan, each prefecture is so unique in it's own way - I learned so much from this trip and could see a different side of Japan.. I hope to share this kind of Japan more and more with you through my channel :)

Kyoto, Japan, has long been considered one of the country’s most beautiful cities. Once the capital of the nation, Kyoto is now an ultra-modern haven that retains a great deal of its ancient charm.
To see some of this long-established glamour, make your way to Kyoto Tower. Just two miles east of the tower is Gion, an entertainment quarter and home to many of Kyoto’s famous geishas. As you walk east through Gion, you’ll find even more old architecture, including several Ryokan, or traditional Japanese inns. Many date back to the Edo period, which ranged from 1603 to 1868.
During your Kyoto tour, take a rickshaw ride to the Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka districts, where cars are prohibited and traditional teahouses and temples adorn the nearby landscape. Kyoto is known as “The City of Ten Thousand Shrines” for good reason. Walk through the great open plazas of the Haian Shrine, or spend a quiet moment in the intimate confines of the Shorenin Temple and its beautiful gardens.
The most famous of Kyoto’s temples is Fushimi Inari-taisha, a stunning red complex that sprawls over Mount Inari, which is named after and dedicated to Inari, the fox spirit. A hike to the summit takes about two hours, and will lead you through thousands of colorful sub-shrines and thick, ancient forest. Once you’re at the top, you’ll have a stunning view of Kyoto.

The Seishun 18 Ticket is a great way to travel around Japan. For just ¥2,370 a day you can go from Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka or anywhere else you would like to go!
The ticket is ¥11,850(around $118USD) and you get 5 days of unlimited rides on the local and rapid JR trains.
I love this ticket and have used it a number of times - it does take longer to get to the destinations than if you were to take a bullet train but you know what they say ... It's not the destination it's the journey that matters :P
But yeah seriously anyone can buy this ticket and it's great for people who are on a budget or just want to take a spontaneous trip! Just jump on to any trains and enjoy the ride :)
