Afro-Eurasia,Afroeurasia, or Eurafrasia, known in antiquity as the Ecumene and most commonly known since the Age of Exploration as the Old World, is the largest landmass on Earth, primarily in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres. The term is a portmanteau of its constituent parts: Africa and Eurasia, the latter conventionally divided into Europe and Asia. Afro-Eurasia encompasses 84,980,532 square kilometers (32,811,166 sq mi) and has a population of approximately 6 billion people which is roughly 85% of the world population. In geopolitical contexts, it is sometimes known as the World Island, a term coined by H.J. Mackinder.
Afro-Eurasia is typically considered to comprise two or three separate continents but is not a proper supercontinent. Instead, it is the largest present part of the supercontinent cycle.
Eurasia is the combined continental landmass of Europe and Asia. The term is a portmanteau of its two constituents. Located primarily in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres, it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Arctic Ocean to the north, and by Africa, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Indian Ocean to the south. The division between Europe and Asia as two different continents is a historical and cultural construct, with no clear physical separation between them; thus, in some parts of the world, Eurasia is recognized as the largest of five or six continents.
Eurasia covers around 55,000,000 square kilometres (21,000,000 sq mi), or around 36.2% of the Earth's total land area. The landmass contains around 5.0 billion people, equating to approximately 70% of the human population. Humans first settled in Eurasia between 60,000 and 125,000 years ago. Some island countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, and Indonesia, are included under the popular definition of Eurasia, in spite of being separate from the massive landmass.
In science fiction stories involving time travel, an alternative future, or alternate future, is a possible future that never comes to pass, typically because someone travels back into the past and alters it so that the events of the alternative future cannot occur.
Alternative future differs from alternative history in that an alternative history usually speculates on what might have happened in the past if some events in the past had occurred differently, while an alternative future usually speculates on what might happen in the future. Also, alternative histories commonly do not feature time travel, while alternative futures do.
An alternative future should not be confused with a possible future. Many science fiction stories are set in the future, compared to the time of writing, and treat that future as real within the context of the story. On the other hand, an alternative future is specifically presented as one that eventually does not come to pass in the story's timeline.
Africa is the world's second-largest and second-most-populous continent. At about 30.2 million km2 (11.7 million sq mi) including adjacent islands, it covers six percent of Earth's total surface area and 20.4 percent of its total land area. With 1.1 billion people as of 2013, it accounts for about 15% of the world's human population. The continent is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, both the Suez Canal and the Red Sea along the Sinai Peninsula to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The continent includes Madagascar and various archipelagos. It contains 54 fully recognized sovereign states (countries), nine territories and two de facto independent states with limited or no recognition.
Africa's population is the youngest amongst all the continents; the median age in 2012 was 19.7, when the worldwide median age was 30.4.Algeria is Africa's largest country by area, and Nigeria by population. Africa, particularly central Eastern Africa, is widely accepted as the place of origin of humans and the Hominidae clade (great apes), as evidenced by the discovery of the earliest hominids and their ancestors, as well as later ones that have been dated to around seven million years ago, including Sahelanthropus tchadensis, Australopithecus africanus, A. afarensis, Homo erectus, H. habilis and H. ergaster – with the earliest Homo sapiens (modern human) found in Ethiopia being dated to circa 200,000 years ago. Africa straddles the equator and encompasses numerous climate areas; it is the only continent to stretch from the northern temperate to southern temperate zones.

The Silk Road and Ancient Trade: In which John Green teaches you about the so-called Silk Road, a network of trade routes where goods such as ivory, silver, iron, wine, and yes, silk were exchanged across the ancient world, from China to the West. Along with all these consumer goods, things like disease and ideas made the trip as well. As is his custom, John ties the Silk Road to modern life, and the ways that we get our stuff today. In which John Green teaches you about one of the least funny subjects in history: slavery. John investigates when and where slavery originated, how it changed over the centuries, and how Europeans and colonists in the Americas arrived at the idea that people could own other people based on skin color. Slavery has existed as long as humans have had civilization, but the Atlantic Slave Trade was the height, or depth, of dehumanizing, brutal, chattel slavery. American slavery ended less than 150 years ago. In some parts of the world, it is still going on. So how do we reconcile that with modern life? In a desperate attempt at comic relief, Boba Fett makes an appearance. Crash Course World History is now available on DVD! http://store.dftba.com/products/crashcourse-world-history-the-complet...

The United Kingdom straddles the geographic mid-latitudes between 49–61 N. It is on the western seaboard of Afro-Eurasia, the world's largest land mass. These conditions allow convergence between moist maritime air and dry continental air. In this area, the large temperature variation creates atmospheric instability and this is a major factor that influences the often unsettled weather the country experiences, where many types of weather can be experienced in a single day. Regional climates in the United Kingdom are influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and latitude. Northern Ireland, Wales and western parts of England and Scotland, being closest to the Atlantic Ocean, are generally the mildest, wettest and windiest regions of the UK, and temperature ranges here are seldom extreme. But during the last four centuries, the West has topped the world hierarchy of technology, wealth, military power, and prestige. J'ai tant besoin de toi
Que j'invente des images
Je joue avec tes yeux
Quand tu n'es pas la
J'éclaire la nuit
Je colore les nuages
Et ton visage
Ne s'efface jamais
I need you so much
That I dream up pictures
I play with your eyes
When you're not there
I light up the night
I color the clouds
And your face
Is never erased
Dans les rues de mon coeur
Dans le soleil
Et dans l'ombre
Partout je te vois
Dans le lit de ma main
Dans tous mes rêves
Ici, partout
Je ne vois que toi
In the streets of my heart
In the sunshine
In the shade
Everywhere I see you
In the bed of my hand
In all my dreams
Here, everywhere
I see only you
Ce que je veux te dire
C'est que le temps serait triste
Oh, si tu t'en allais
Pour plus de quelques heures
C'est parce'que tu m'aimes
Que je vis et que j'existe
Parc'que tu m'aimes
Que je n'ai pas peur
What I want to tell you
Is that time would be sad
Oh, if you were to leave
For more than a few hours
It's because you love me
That I live and exist
Because you love me
That I'm not afraid
Dans les rues de mon coeur
Dans le soleil
Et dans l'ombre
Partout je te vois
Dans le lit de ma main
Dans tous mes rêves
Ici, partout
Je ne vois que toi
In the streets of my heart
In the sunshine
In the shade
Everywhere I see you
In the bed of my hand
In all my dreams
Here, everywhere
I see only you
Je ne veux pas
Que quelque chose nous sépare
Je ne veux pas
Que tu te perdes loin de moi
Je ne veux pas
Que quelqu'un d'inconnu
Passe un jour par là
Et te prenne a moi
I don't want
Anything to separate us
I don't want
You to get lost far from me
I don't want
For some unknown person
To come by here some day
And take you from me
Dans les rues de mon coeur
Dans le soleil
Et dans l'ombre
Partout je te vois
Dans le lit de ma main
Dans tous mes rêves
Ici, partout
Je te vois
In the streets of my heart
In the sunshine
In the shade
Everywhere I see you
In the bed of my hand
In all my dreams
Here, everywhere
I see only you
J'ai besoin de toi
Je ne vis pas
Je ne vois que toi
Je ne suis rien
Sans toi
I need you
I don't live
I see only you
I am nothing
Without you
Je te vois partout
