The following is a thus far incomplete list of worldwide ant genera.
An alphabet is a standard set of letters (basic written symbols or graphemes) which is used to write one or more languages based on the general principle that the letters represent phonemes (basic significant sounds) of the spoken language. This is in contrast to other types of writing systems, such as syllabaries (in which each character represents a syllable) and logographies (in which each character represents a word, morpheme, or semantic unit).
The Proto-Canaanite script, later known as the Phoenician alphabet, is the first fully phonemic script. Thus the Phoenician alphabet is considered to be the first alphabet. The Phoenician alphabet is the ancestor of most modern alphabets, including Arabic, Greek, Latin, Cyrillic, Hebrew, and possibly Brahmic. According to terminology introduced by Peter T. Daniels, an "alphabet" is a script that represents both vowels and consonants as letters equally. In this narrow sense of the word the first "true" alphabet was the Greek alphabet, which was developed on the basis of the earlier Phoenician alphabet. In other alphabetic scripts such as the original Phoenician, Hebrew or Arabic, letters predominantly or exclusively represent consonants; such a script is also called an abjad. A third type, called abugida or alphasyllabary, is one where vowels are shown by diacritics or modifications of consonantal base letters, as in Devanagari and other South Asian scripts.
A list is any enumeration of a set of items. List or lists may also refer to:
Ants are eusocial insects of the family Formicidae /fɔːrˈmɪsᵻdiː/ and, along with the related wasps and bees, belong to the order Hymenoptera. Ants evolved from wasp-like ancestors in the mid-Cretaceous period between 110 and 130 million years ago and diversified after the rise of flowering plants. More than 12,500 of an estimated total of 22,000 species have been classified. They are easily identified by their elbowed antennae and the distinctive node-like structure that forms their slender waists.
Ants form colonies that range in size from a few dozen predatory individuals living in small natural cavities to highly organised colonies that may occupy large territories and consist of millions of individuals. Larger colonies consist mostly of sterile, wingless females forming castes of "workers", "soldiers", or other specialised groups. Nearly all ant colonies also have some fertile males called "drones" and one or more fertile females called "queens". The colonies are described as superorganisms because the ants appear to operate as a unified entity, collectively working together to support the colony.
Barrel cactus are various members of the two genera Echinocactus and Ferocactus, found in the deserts of Southwestern North America.
Some species of Barrel cactus easily reach over 1 metre (3.3 ft) in height at maturity, and have been known to reach 3 meters 3 metres (9.8 ft)in some regions. The ribs are numerous and pronounced, and the spines are long and can range in color from yellow to tan to red, depending on the age of the plant and the species. Flowers appear at the top of the plant only after many years.
Barrel cactus buds typically start to bloom in April with a bright yellow or orange flower. Pink and red varieties also exist but occur less frequently. The flowers only appear on the very top of the plant. As the flowers begin to wilt in early May, they may change color. A late summer desert rainstorm can produce a late bloomer as shown in the photo of the orange flowered variety (it bloomed two days after a rain storm in mid August and then continued to bloom right through the end of September).
This video project is an assemblage of about two dozen oddballs and it includes a few views of some of their more common relatives. Some short animal footage is included, obviously to entertain and inspire all of the little grandchildren. NOTE - Most of the Monster Hedge Cactus images are included only as a timing reference and they are used to introduce each of the numbered plants. NOTE - I may use different words for the plant names, because I'm not sure. NOTE - Cresting, Branching and Monster Branching are variable growth forms of some cactus and other types of plants. They are often collected only for the crests and then, from that point forward, the side branches are regularly cut off. On the other hand, the plants in this video are not trimmed for the crests and the side branches...

I created this video with the YouTube Slideshow Creator (http://www.youtube.com/upload) This is a collection of 41 images containing 45 numbered plants, organized alphabetically by genus. See below for a breakdown of the plant names. The images were taken at the nursery, in Tonopah, Arizona, in early August of 2014. These plants are not for sale. SDL, the Simple DirectMedia Layer, is the cross-platform game library used in everything from small indie games to Valve’s blockbuster triple-A games to other applications with rich media needs. This seminar will teach you how to use this powerful C library to write your own 2D games. We will talk about the structure of game code and cover the installation and initialization of the SDL library, the creation and management of the game window, how to draw images onto the window, and how to handle keyboard and mouse input. By the end of the seminar you will have created a small demo that you can later build on as much as you want.

Noted environmentalist Newton Ancarrow documented and photographed over 400 species of wildflowers along the banks of the James River in Richmond, Virginia from 1968 to 1971. He created a slideshow that he gave to garden clubs, women's groups, and other civic organizations. He also typed out the script of his presentation, and recorded it on audio cassette. Using the audio, his script, and digitized images of the slides, VCU Libraries has been able to recreate his hour-long slideshow. For more information about Ancarrow and his work, see the online exhibit and the Ancarrow Wildflower Digital Archive. http://go.vcu.edu/wildflowers http://dig.library.vcu.edu/cdm/landingpage/collection/anc http://www.lewisginter.org/learn/library/library-special-collections/ancarrow-digital-archive/ http://...
The program's heyday was in the early 1950s, when radio actor, producer and director Elliott Lewis took over (still during the Wilcox/Autolite run). Here the material reached new levels of sophistication. The writing was taut, and the casting, which had always been a strong point of the series (featuring such film stars as Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, Henry Fonda, Humphrey Bogart, Judy Garland, Ronald Colman, Marlene Dietrich, Eve McVeagh, Lena Horne, and Cary Grant), took an unexpected turn when Lewis expanded the repertory to include many of radio's famous drama and comedy stars — often playing against type — such as Jack Benny. Jim and Marian Jordan of Fibber McGee and Molly were heard in the episode, "Backseat Driver," which originally aired February 3, 1949. The highest production va...
