A Sevier County Sheriff’s Office deputy opened fire without warning in a mobile home park, suffered an apparent panic attack four minutes later and was forcibly disarmed by a paramedic, body camera footage shows. Deputy Justin Johnson did not mention the panic attack in his report on the December 2016 incident, and he remains on active duty, court records show. Brian Keith Mullinax, 41, and his girlfriend, Tina Carrie Jo Cody, 37, spent 42 days in jail on felony charges, accused of causing what was described in court statements as a "panic attack" and which a detective called "some type of cardiac event." They remain under prosecution on misdemeanor charges, court records show. A spokesman for Sevier County Sheriff Ron “Hoss” Seals did not return a phone message. It’s not clear from court records whether the sheriff’s office conducted an internal investigation, ordered psychological testing for Johnson, or required him to undergo counseling or additional training. Cody was unarmed and being held on the ground by Johnson and paramedic Blake Gregg when Johnson fired four shots toward a set of mobile homes, paused and fired three more, the video obtained showed. He ran away from Cody and Gregg toward Sharp Road. “Shots fired,” he told dispatchers. “We need help.” Four minutes later, Johnson was kneeling over Cody, who had remained on the ground, with his gun still in his hand when the video showed he began hyperventilating and running backward away from the mobile homes and Cody. Paramedic Michael O’Connor ran toward Johnson. “Pull it together,” O’Connor told Johnson. “Look at me.” Johnson continued to hyperventilate while pointing his gun toward Cody, Gregg and the mobile homes.
Give me your gun,” O’Connor repeatedly said. A still hyperventilating Johnson continued to grip the gun. O’Connor eventually wrested it from his hand. “Let go of it,” O’Connor said. Johnson continued to hyperventilate. “Easy, buddy,” O’Connor said as he trained Johnson’s gun toward the mobile homes. “I got it under control. Calm down. It’s OK.” One minute and 30 seconds after Johnson began hyperventilating, his breathing slowed. “I’m OK,” he said. “I’m OK.” O’Connor handed Johnson his gun back. He had hyperventilated so strongly one of his contact lens popped out of his eye, the video showed. He tossed it away as he trained his gun toward the mobile homes, where an unarmed Mullinax was facedown on the ground with his arms extended. The video showed Mullinax obeyed Johnson when – after Johnson had fired seven shots and ran away – the deputy ordered him to the ground, and he never moved from that position during or after Johnson’s panic attack. Mullinax is set to stand trial in Sevier County Criminal Court on Tuesday on a charge that he assaulted Johnson. A lower court judge already dropped felony charges against both Cody and Mullinax, and a grand jury refused to indict Cody for causing the panic attack. She remains charged with resisting arrest. The couple spent 42 days in jail because they were too poor to post bond and did not get a preliminary hearing within 10 business days as the law requires, records showed. It’s not clear why from those court records.

The Deputy
The Deputy, a Christian tragedy (German: Der Stellvertreter. Ein christliches Trauerspiel), also known as The Representative (although a more accurate translation would be The Vicar), is a controversial 1963 play by Rolf Hochhuth which portrayed Pope Pius XII as having failed to take action or speak out against the Holocaust. It has been translated into more than twenty languages. The play's implicit censure of a venerable if controversial pope has led to numerous counterattacks, of which one of the latest is the 2007 allegation that Hochhuth was the dupe of a KGB disinformation campaign. The Encyclopedia Britannica assesses the play as "a drama that presented a critical, unhistorical picture of Pius XII" and Hochhuth's depiction of the pope having been indifferent to the Nazi genocide as "lacking credible substantiation"."
An English translation by Richard and Clara Winston of the complete text was published as The Deputy: A Play, by Grove Press in 1964. A letter from Albert Schweitzer to Hochhuth's German publisher serves as the foreword to the Grove edition. A film version titled Amen. was made by the Greek-born French filmmaker Costa-Gavras in 2002.

No Country
No Country (named Test Your Reflex from 2004–2009) is an indie rock/pop band from Los Angeles, California. The name change coincided with the end of their contract with RCA Records. As "No Country" the band remain unsigned. Their only release since leaving RCA was a single as the fictional band Low Shoulder for the soundtrack to the 2009 film Jennifer's Body. On July 14, 2010 the band put out two singles on their MySpace page.
The band's debut release was The Burning Hour (released April 24, 2007) on RCA Records. The album has been described as having an 80s sound with hints of U2, The Cars, and Simple Minds as well as The Cure and The Killers.
The band featured on the MySpace Tribute to the Smashing Pumpkins album released on MySpace Records and distributed in the July 2007 issue of SPIN Magazine. They liken themselves to other bands on the Pumpkins tribute, such as The Bravery. All tracks appeared on each band's MySpace page from May 14, 2007. Test Your Reflex opened for The Smashing Pumpkins on July 22, 2007 at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Before that, from March 22, 2007 to May 12, 2007, Test Your Reflex toured the US with the Detroit-based band Electric Six.

No Country for Old Men
No Country for Old Men is a 2005 novel by U.S. author Cormac McCarthy. The story occurs in the vicinity of the United States–Mexico border, in 1980, and concerns an illegal drug deal gone awry in the Texas desert backcountry.
The title of the novel derives from the first line of the poem "Sailing to Byzantium" (1926), by W. B. Yeats.
The book was adapted into the 2007 film of the same name, which won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Javier Bardem
Javier Ángel Encinas Bardem (Spanish pronunciation: [xaˈβjer βarˈðen]; born 1 March 1969) is a Spanish actor. He is best known for his role in the 2007 film No Country for Old Men, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor portraying the psychopathic assassin Anton Chigurh. He has also received critical acclaim for roles in films such as Jamón, jamón, Carne trémula, Boca a boca, Los Lunes al sol, Mar adentro, and Skyfall, for which he received both a BAFTA and a SAG nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Bardem has also won a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA, five Goya Awards, two European Film Awards, a Prize for Best Actor at Cannes and two Volpi Cups at Venice for his work. He is the first Spaniard to be nominated for an Oscar (Best Actor, 2000, for Before Night Falls), as well as the first Spanish actor to win an Academy Award. NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -- A deputy who was recently fired from the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office was found guilty of assaulting a man who was trying to turn his power back on. Officials charged Reed Roberts in November with misdemeanor simple assault for using his taser against an electrician who was trying to help restore power to his house in Pender County. Roberts was found guilty of simple assault Wednesday and sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended and 48 hours of community service. He was also ordered to take anger management classes and will not be able to serve as a Law Enforcement Officer in the state of North Carolina again. According to prosecutors, Jerome Wallace had just finished reconnecting the power, after it had been disconnected due to an unpaid bill, when Roberts approached him. According to witness testimony, Roberts started cussing at Wallace asking him not to leave the property because he believed Wallace had damaged his property. Investigators said that Roberts was upset because some logs had been moved when the electrician went to the meter box to restore the power. Wallace testified that he was trying to leave the property when Roberts tased him. That's when Wallace said he pepper sprayed the defendant. Roberts then admittedly went back into his home to get a gun, however, by the time he came back outside with it, the victim was driving away. The New Hanover County Sheriff fired Roberts shortly after the incident as a result of his actions. In court Wednesday, District Attorney Ben David said this incident was "an assault and nothing else." He went on to explain it was not justifiable and was inexcusable. "This was an absolutely un-acceptable use of force by an off-duty officer, who was not acting in the capacity as a law officer he was acting as a mad homeowner who was feeling disrespected because his power had been shut off and he was taking matters into his own hands," said David. "The truth is the sheriff took his badge that night, I was here to take his credentials forever." -

"That was the Arizona territory in 1880, and I was its chief marshal." So began this western series starring Henry Fonda as Simon Fry. Unfortunately, Fonda's character was fully integrated into the plot in only six of the episodes of the first season and thirteen in season two. In all other episodes he appeared only briefly, generally at the start of the episode and again at the close. Fonda did narrate most episodes. Fonda worked for ten weeks on season one, for example, shooting all of his scenes during that time, which left the rest of the year free for film and theater work. While Allen Case tried hard as the title character, Clay McCord, the series is well- known for the substantial differences in quality between what the series producers (and Fonda himself) came to call the "Fonda" and "Non- Fonda" episodes.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -- A deputy who was recently fired from the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office was found guilty of assaulting a man who was trying to turn his power back on.
Officials charged Reed Roberts in November with misdemeanor simple assault for using his taser against an electrician who was trying to help restore power to his house in Pender County.
Roberts was found guilty of simple assault Wednesday and sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended and 48 hours of community service. He was also ordered to take anger management classes and will not be able to serve as a Law Enforcement Officer in the state of North Carolina again.
According to prosecutors, Jerome Wallace had just finished reconnecting the power, after it had been disconnected due to an unpaid bill, when Roberts approached him. According to witness testimony, Roberts started cussing at Wallace asking him not to leave the property because he believed Wallace had damaged his property.
Investigators said that Roberts was upset because some logs had been moved when the electrician went to the meter box to restore the power.
Wallace testified that he was trying to leave the property when Roberts tased him. That's when Wallace said he pepper sprayed the defendant. Roberts then admittedly went back into his home to get a gun, however, by the time he came back outside with it, the victim was driving away.
The New Hanover County Sheriff fired Roberts shortly after the incident as a result of his actions.
In court Wednesday, District Attorney Ben David said this incident was "an assault and nothing else." He went on to explain it was not justifiable and was inexcusable.
"This was an absolutely un-acceptable use of force by an off-duty officer, who was not acting in the capacity as a law officer he was acting as a mad homeowner who was feeling disrespected because his power had been shut off and he was taking matters into his own hands," said David. "The truth is the sheriff took his badge that night, I was here to take his credentials forever."

My first build didn't hold up the best in UVHM at the level 60 cap but with the addition of a super coach gun called the Flayer the build works again and works well. I always loved this play style and I should of got to this awhile ago. Thanks to Troubled for reminded me. A 31-year-old Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy was arrested for allegedly raping two inmates at a women's jail, the department said Thursday. Sheriff Jim McDonnell identified the deputy as Giancarlo Scotti, a 10-year veteran of the department. He's one of the best known politicians in the country with a gift for publicity and a unique way with words. In political parlance, he has "cut through" - so much so, former Prime Minister Tony Abbott praised him as the best "retail politician" in the country. He's the member for New England, Barnaby Joyce.
Just five short months ago he fulfilled a lifelong ambition when he was anointed leader of the National Party and Deputy Prime Minister. In country politics, it doesn't get any bigger and better.
But it could all come crashing down.
"He will need an unbelievably strong primary vote in his own right. If he doesn't get it, the way the preference gaming goes on these days, he could lose it." Former National Party Strategist
With only two weeks to go in the Federal Election campaign, Barnaby Joyce is fighting to hang on to his seat.
The man getting in his way is the Independent, Tony Windsor. He's been a thorn in the side of the National Party for 25 years and he's come out of retirement for one more crack at winning the seat. And he's in with a real chance.
"This seat is winnable. It is winnable. I have absolutely no doubt about that. No-one has it won yet." Tony Windsor
Four Corners has spent weeks behind the scenes, on the campaign trail, with both men as they've crisscrossed the electorate in one of the most hotly anticipated contests of the election campaign.

A 31-year-old Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy was arrested for allegedly raping two inmates at a women's jail, the department said Thursday.
Sheriff Jim McDonnell identified the deputy as Giancarlo Scotti, a 10-year veteran of the department. The department said in a news release that the deputy is facing "serious allegations of criminal misconduct while on duty."
A female inmate reported the allegations to authorities. A subsequent investigation revealed that there were two alleged victims at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, McDonnell said.
McDonnell called the alleged behavior "disgusting" and a "violation of public trust and the law."
"The crime of this nature is horrific," McDonnell said. "Criminal misconduct, especially criminal misconduct that preys on a vulnerable population, will not be tolerated and will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," McDonnell said. "We have a public obligation to follow the evidence and the facts. We have a moral duty to assure our public and the inmates in our care that we take these allegations very seriously."
Scotti was on duty when he was arrested Wednesday, just hours after the department received the allegations of misconduct, McDonnell said
"At this time there's no indication or evidence that any other personnel were involved and the focus of this investigation remains on one individual," the sheriff said.
Jail records indicated Scotti, booked on suspicion of rape under color of authority, was released after posting bond. An initial court date was scheduled for next month. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
He was placed on administrative leave.
The detention center reopened in 2006 as an all-female jail It has a 2,100-inmate capacity and serves as the booking center for LASD's Century and Compton station for female prisoners.
