This was filmed between 26 May 2012 and 6 June 2012. I first visited Mount Bromo in April 2012 for 2 nights and I was so fascinated by the many possibilities that this amazing landscape can offer and so I decided to revisit Mount Bromo and made my first time-lapse movie there.
My goal was to capture the beautiful milky way galaxy and sun rise along with the 3 volcanoes namely Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and Mount Batok.
On 28 May 2012, I encountered one of the rare scenes where Mount Semeru was spewing red lava smoke under the milky way galaxy. Look at 01:33 to watch Mount Semeru in action.
On 2 June 2012, I captured the moon setting right in the middle of Mount Bromo and Mount Batok and the milky way galaxy became more obvious gradually. Look at 00:49 to watch the moonset in action.
On 3 June 2012, I was hit by a sandstorm when I was shooting on Mount Bromo and the strong wind had toppled two of my cameras and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. But to my surprise, the two cameras managed to capture more than 5 seconds worth of photos before they collapsed. Look at 02:10 to watch the sandstorm in action!
On 4 June 2012, it was a full moon night and I encountered one of the rare scenes where the volcanoes were partially covered by the hovering mid clouds and I captured the entire moon set. Look at 00:08 to watch the moving mid clouds in slow motion or look at 01:48 to watch the full moonset in action, which took me 8 hours to capture the whole process.
On 5 June 2012, knowing that the moon will set simultaneously as the sun rise, I spent more than 8 hours to capture this scene. Look at 01:18 to watch the sunrise and moonset in action simultaneously.
In addition to managing rapid changing lighting conditions, shooting long hours under extremely cold and windy conditions and resolving condensation issues were the biggest challenges I faced during the shoot.

Mount Bromo
Mount Bromo (Indonesian: Gunung Bromo), is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 metres (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god. Sulfur is collected from inside the caldera by workers.
Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a vast plain called the "Sea of Sand" (Javanese: Segara Wedi or Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since 1919. The typical way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there it is possible to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an organised jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 m or 9,088 ft) (Indonesian: Gunung Penanjakan). The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours.

Plastikman Live 1.5 appears next with a debut show in Ibiza at Amnesia for the 'I Want My MTV' concert series (August 5 2011), followed by a performance in New York City for the Electric Zoo festival on Memorial Day weekend (September 2 2011) before the European tour begins in Budapest at Hungary's Bonusz festival in October. The updates of the show have once again been created within Hawtin's fully-collaborative lighting, visual and interactive team: Ali Demirel & Jarrett Smith of Derivative (TouchDesigner visuals); Matthias Vollrath (lighting integrations); Jeremy Jacobs (JPLS) & Johannes Kramer (sonic upgrades); and Robert Hexler & Bryan McDade (interactivity). As with all previous dates, Plastikman Live will be fully interactive for any fans with the free SYNK iPhone application, which itself has been relaunched with new features including a live chat, live behind-the-curtain camera feed and more interactive elements, making the show one of the only genuinely interactive concert experiences in the world today. Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman states: "I'm incredibly excited to finally take Plastikman on its first standalone tour. These dates will represent the last opportunities for fans to catch Plastikman Live in its current form: the 1.5 version of the show we've spent nearly a year of fine-tuning. Mount Bromo HD Timelapse
This was filmed between 26 May 2012 and 6 June 2012. I first visited Mount Bromo in April 2012 for 2 nights and I was so fascinated by the many possibilities that this amazing landscape can offer and so I decided to revisit Mount Bromo and made my first time-lapse movie there. My goal was to capture the beautiful milky way galaxy and sun rise along with the 3 volcanoes namely Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and Mount Batok. On 28 May 2012, I encountered one of the rare scenes where Mount Semeru was spewing red lava smoke under the milky way galaxy. Look at 01:33 to watch Mount Semeru in action. This was filmed between 26 May 2012 and 6 June 2012. I first visited Mount Bromo in April 2012 for 2 nights and I was so fascinated by the many possibilities that this amazing landscape can offer and so I decided to revisit Mount Bromo and made my first time-lapse movie there.
My goal was to capture the beautiful milky way galaxy and sun rise along with the 3 volcanoes namely Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and Mount Batok.
On 28 May 2012, I encountered one of the rare scenes where Mount Semeru was spewing red lava smoke under the milky way galaxy. Look at 01:33 to watch Mount Semeru in action.
On 2 June 2012, I captured the moon setting right in the middle of Mount Bromo and Mount Batok and the milky way galaxy became more obvious gradually. Look at 00:49 to watch the moonset in action.
On 3 June 2012, I was hit by a sandstorm when I was shooting on Mount Bromo and the strong wind had toppled two of my cameras and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. But to my surprise, the two cameras managed to capture more than 5 seconds worth of photos before they collapsed. Look at 02:10 to watch the sandstorm in action!
On 4 June 2012, it was a full moon night and I encountered one of the rare scenes where the volcanoes were partially covered by the hovering mid clouds and I captured the entire moon set. Look at 00:08 to watch the moving mid clouds in slow motion or look at 01:48 to watch the full moonset in action, which took me 8 hours to capture the whole process.
On 5 June 2012, knowing that the moon will set simultaneously as the sun rise, I spent more than 8 hours to capture this scene. Look at 01:18 to watch the sunrise and moonset in action simultaneously.
In addition to managing rapid changing lighting conditions, shooting long hours under extremely cold and windy conditions and resolving condensation issues were the biggest challenges I faced during the shoot.

Richie Hawtin's iconic alter-ego Plastikman will embark on a full live tour in late-2011 in a new upgraded 1.5 format as it continues to evolve and push technology & live performance forward.
Plastikman is arguably one of the only live shows around where all aspects of the performance - music, lighting, audio, visuals and real-time audience interaction via the SYNK App - are controlled by a single on-stage performer. The Plastikman live experience has been developed by the electronic visionary Richie Hawtin, Derivative & his production team over the past ten years. In 2010, readers of the largest electronic music portal Resident Advisor voted Plastikman as the ʻnumber oneʼ live electronic show of the year.
Richie Hawtinʼs Plastikman creation returned in 2010 and debuted its new look at Timewarp in Mannheim in March of that year. This version toured festivals the world over, establishing an unrivalled reputation as one of the most spectacular electronic live shows of all time, and quickly united a new generation of music fans with those who had followed the Plastikman project from its groundbreaking innovations in the 1990s. The Plastikman logo once again has returned to the forefront of the electronic movement as EDM (electronic dance music) fever gripped North America and Plastikman performed acclaimed shows at Electric Daisy Carnival and Canadaʼs Mutek.
Hawtin and his team have continued to develop and evolve the show - incorporating brand new Plastikman music, visuals and interactive technologies. Plastikman Live 1.5 appears next with a debut show in Ibiza at Amnesia for the 'I Want My MTV' concert series (August 5 2011), followed by a performance in New York City for the Electric Zoo festival on Memorial Day weekend (September 2 2011) before the European tour begins in Budapest at Hungary's Bonusz festival in October.
The updates of the show have once again been created within Hawtin's fully-collaborative lighting, visual and interactive team: Ali Demirel & Jarrett Smith of Derivative (TouchDesigner visuals); Matthias Vollrath (lighting integrations); Jeremy Jacobs (JPLS) & Johannes Kramer (sonic upgrades); and Robert Hexler & Bryan McDade (interactivity).

It was a joint decision to set them free, and this is what they came up with; the “Greek Crisis Explained” Trilogy. This project was basically assigned by us to ourselves and our brief was happily clear-cut: “Present our very own version of the Greek Crisis”. And the story goes like this; Greece, a young spoiled girl gets devoured by Dept, a humongous monster. EU cannot help Greece out on its own. And when all hope is lost, IMF is brought into play…

Animation for the Nation!
You asked for it, so here it is! The Greek Crisis explained in 3 episodes. We didn’t want to have our hands tied when it came to Greek Financial Crisis. It was a joint decision to set them free, and this is what they came up with; the “Greek Crisis Explained” Trilogy. This project was basically assigned by us to ourselves and our brief was happily clear-cut: “Present our very own version of the Greek Crisis”. And the story goes like this; Greece, a young spoiled girl gets devoured by Dept, a humongous monster. EU cannot help Greece out on its own. And when all hope is lost, IMF is brought into play…
