Jeeva (1986 film)

Jeeva is a 1986 Bollywood action thriller film starring Sanjay Dutt and Mandakini. The film is directed by Raj N Sippy and produced by his brother Romu N Sippy under the production house Rupam Pictures. The film did well when released and was the twelfth highest grossing hindi film of that year the soundtrack of the film contains the ever popular Roz Roz Aankhon Tale.

Plot

The plot revolves around Jeevan Thakur's (Sanjay Dutt) fight against the local cunning money lender Lala (Pran) & his ally Inspector Dushant Singh (Anupam Kher) with revenge for killing his parents. Orphaned in his young age, Jeevan is raised in a gang of dacoits where he takes the name Jeeva. After the death of the leader of the gang, Jeeva gets in bitter terms with another contender for leadership, Lakhan (Shakti Kapoor).
The action thriller movie gets its romantic touch when Jeeva fall in love with Nalini (Mandakini).

Plot: Guru comes to meet Raj over a weekend and he introduces him to his 3 friends - Vishnu, Sam and Jeeva. Guru also happens to meet Vidhya, on whom Sam has a crush. From here on it is operation revenge for the two. Jeeva trains Kiran in handling weapons and warfare. In the final showdown, Jeeva will sacrifice his life to save Kiran's life.

Plot: Abducted by Dacoits at a very young age, Jeevan Thakur ends up as a Dacoit and becomes a legend of his own by creating terror and fear amongst folks in the region, and comes to be known as Jeeva. Police Inspector Dushant Singh has been assigned the task of apprehending Dacoits, and he sets off to hunt them down one by one. Jeeva wants to avenge his sufferings at the hands of moneylender Lala, and sets off to do this. The Sardar of the Dacoits is killed, and the gang elect Lakhan as their leader. Lakhan is opposed to Jeeva and Gopal Singh, compelling both to flee. With the police on their tracks, the duo must also dodge Lakhan and his gang, and at the same time attempt to get even with Lala.

Plot: Thakur Jaswant Singh rules over the region with a iron hand. He has no pity or empathy for the poor, all he is interested in is their money, their women, and alcohol. After the passing away of his dad, he assumes total control over the region, and increases the taxes. One day while walking across the hallway, he trips over the wet floor, and falls down. He gets up angrily and assaults the old woman, Ramvati, who was washing the floor. His abuse is interrupted by the arrival of Ramvati's son, Jeeva, who intervenes. Jaswant is ready to shoot him down, but Jaswant's mom prevents him from doing so. Word gets around that Jeeva is in the bad books of the Thakur, and soon a number of people start consipiring against Jeeva. The next day Jeeva is summoned before the village council and asked to explain his involvement in the death of a cow. Jeeva has no satisfactory explanation, and he is asked to leave the village immediately with his mother. Jeeva refuses to do so, and is severely beaten, and thrown out. Shortly thereafter his mother passes away, and Jeeva decides to avenge her death by bringing about the downfall of Jaswant Singh. In order to do this, he becomes a dacait. Jeeva swears on the holy river Ganga to wipe out Jaswant Singh and his men, without knowing his decision will bring him into conflict with the police, and with the honest people from the very community he was exiled from.
