Godavari River

The Godavari River is the second longest river in India after the river Ganges having its source at Tryambakeshwar, Maharashtra. It starts in Maharashtra and flows east for 1,465 kilometres (910 mi) emptying into Bay of Bengal draining the Indian states Maharashtra (48.6%), Telangana( 18.8%), Andhra Pradesh (4.5%), Chhattisgarh (10.9%), Madhya Pradesh (10.0%), Odisha (5.7%) and Karnataka (1.4%) through its extensive network of tributaries. Measuring up to a staggering 3,12,812 km², it forms one of the largest river basins in India, only the Ganges and Indus (within Indian borders) rivers have a drainage basin larger than it. In terms of length, catchment area and discharge, the Godavari river is the largest in peninsular India and had been dubbed as the 'Dakshina Ganga' - the South Ganges river

The river has been mentioned in Hindu scriptures since many millennia and continues to harbour and nourish rich cultural heritages. In the past few decades, the river has been abused with relentless construction of barrages and dams. The river delta, supporting 729 persons/ km² - nearly twice the density average for the nation, has been categorised as having substantial risk to greater risk of flooding with rising sea levels.

Kamalinee Mukherjee

Kamalinee Mukherjee (born 4 March 1980) is an Indian actress. She has predominantly appeared in Telugu films as well as in a few Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali and Kannada language films.

After graduating with a degree in English literature, she completed a workshop on theatre in Mumbai because of her strong background in it. She made her acting debut in Phir Milenge (2004), a film that was based on the subject of AIDS. She gained recognition in the multiple-award winner, Anand.

Early life

Mukherjee was born and brought up in Kolkata, India. While her father is a marine engineer, her mother is a jewellery designer. She is the eldest of the three siblings in the family. Owing to her "love for being on the stage" since childhood, she acted in all sorts of amateur and professional stageplays while in school and college. Incidentally, she always portrayed masculine characters in these plays. Besides theater, she developed a love for reading spiritual works, painting and writing poetry. Besides writing poetry, she also underwent several years of training in Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance form.

Sekhar Kammula

Sekhar Kammula (Telugu: శేఖర్ కమ్ముల) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, known for his works exclusively in Telugu cinema. His first film, Dollar Dreams was a critical success, and won him the National Film Award for best debutant director. He won two Filmfare Awards, and six state Nandi Awards. Sekhar was among the director's delegation to represent Indian Cinema at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Sekhar Kammula is making his Bollywood debut with the film Salman Khan.

Early life

Sekhar's family hails from Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. Sekhar was schooled at St. Patrick's High School, Secunderabad. He completed his intermediate studies from St. Alphonsa's and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology.

He later went to the United States of America to pursue a Graduate degree in Computer Sciences at New Jersey. After a brief stint in the IT industry, he enrolled in the MFA program at Howard University, Washington, D.C.

Neetu Chandra

Neetu Chandra (born 20 June 1984) is an Indian film actress, model and martial artist.

Early life and education

Neetu Chandra was born in Patna, Bihar, India. Her mother tongue is Bhojpuri. She was educated at the Notre Dame Academy, Patna and completed her undergraduate education at Delhi's Indraprastha College. She started modelling and Neetu gives credit of her success to her mother, a native of East Champaran in Bihar. She has appeared in several advertisements and videos for firms since her graduation. She holds two Dan black belts in Taekwondo and represented India in the 1997 World Taekwondo Championships in Hong Kong.

Neetu Chandra's brother is Nitin Chandra who also directed the movie Deswa.

Acting career

She entered Hindi film industry in 2005 with Garam Masala in which she portrayed Sweety, an airhostess. She also acted in Godavari, a Telugu film, in 2006. In 2007 she appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar's film, Traffic Signal.

In 2008, she had four releases, being directed by Dibakar Banerjee, Rahul Dholakia, Ashwini Dheer and Vikram. Her Tamil film, Yavarum Nalam with Madhavan, released in 2009, was declared a major hit. In 2010 she was seen in four Hindi films, Rann, Apartment, chak de india, in which she made a special appearance, Sadiyaan and Jag Mundhra's Apartment, and one Tamil film, Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai.

Kamal Kamaraju

Kamal Kamaraju is a Telugu movie actor. He has a degree in architecture from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. He is passionate about movies. He is also a writer, assistant art director, and a commendable painter. He is an ace photographer and architect; one of his works includes the restaurant 'Moksha' in Hyderabad,Telangana.

Kamal started his career as an assistant art director to director Chandra Sekhar Yeleti under the tutelage of renowned art director Ravinder for the film Anukokunda Oka Roju (2006). He got his first opportunity as an actor in Chhatrapati (2006) while working as associate art director for the same film under director S.S. Rajamouli. However, he was most recognised for his role in Sekhar Kammula's Godavari (2006).

He then paired up with Kuruvilla to do an independent film called Confessions of a Film Actor (2007) which was one of the first films to be released online as a pay-per-view and became an instant hit overseas.

He was later launched as hero by Kammula who produced the well acclaimed Avakai Biryani (2008) under the direction of Anish Kuruvilla. This led him to doing lead roles in other films like Kalavaramaye Madilo (2009) and Virodhi (2011).
