Being the most well known Japanese martial art (and practically a household name among all martial arts) Karate began as an Okinawan striking system which over time has combined elements of Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu/Wushu) and other non-striking Japanese martial arts (Judo, Aikido, etc.) to become the diverse set of separate styles recognized today. One Karate style, Uechi-Ryu, even incorporates Tiger, Crane, and Dragon movements similar to certain Kung Fu styles which implement their own animal components. Karate’s most famous move might be the eponymous “Karate Chop” aka “Knife Hand” even though this move is found in many other martial arts. Such is the broad connection Karate shares with other fighting styles. I’m no Karate expert but a fan of awesome fight choreography so I decided to delve a bit deeper and research some of the Karate styles used in certain martial arts films. So here's a compilation of some Karate fight scenes.

When a 12-year-old from Detroit moves to China with his mother and incurs the wrath of the class bully at his new school, he makes an unlikely ally in the form of his aging maintenance man, a kung fu master who teaches him the secrets to self-defense. Upon arriving at his new school, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) develops a powerful crush on pretty classmate Mei Ying. The feeling is mutual, although the cultural divide between Dre and Mei Ying makes a friendship unlikely, and romance impossible. When cruel classmate and kung fu prodigy Cheng learns of Dre's feelings for Mei Ying, he harasses and humiliates the young outsider in front of the entire school. With no one to turn to for help, Dre confides his fears in kindly maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a kung fu master who knows that serenity and maturity -- not punches and power -- are the true keys to mastering the martial arts. As Dre prepares to face down his intimidating tormentor, he begins to realize that the real fight is just beginning.

A scientist creates a diamond that can focus sun-rays to burn through anything. He hides the diamond in a necklace. Khan ( Kader Khan), in a bid to get the diamond, kills the scientist . The scientist's karate-learning sons, Desh (Deb) and Vijay (Mithun), are separated from each other and their mother. Vijay/Vijay grows up with his karate instructor while Desh is reared by a gypsy camp where he befriends Imran (Mazhar) . Khan tracks down the karate instructor who kills himself before Khan could torture him for information about the scientists missing sons and the necklace. The dying instructor gives the necklace to Vijay who later gives it to his girlfriend Aarti (Yogita) who is the instructor's daughter for safekeeping. Vijay and Aarti raid Khan's illegal go downs and kills many of his men. Desh and Imran have grown up to be master thieves and pickpockets. Khan goes to Aarti house to kill her and steal the necklace. Aarti jumps off the window using a rope ladder . However she loses the necklace which is found by Desh who is attempting a burglary in the same building. Desh realizes that its his mother's necklace where his father has hidden the priceless diamond.

Karate
Karate (空手) (English /kəˈrɑːtiː/; Japanese pronunciation: [kaɽate]; Okinawan pronunciation: IPA: [kaɽati]) is a martial art developed on the Ryukyu Islands in what is now Okinawa, Japan. It developed from the indigenous martial arts of Ryukyu Islands (called te (手), literally "hand"; tii in Okinawan) under the influence of Chinese martial arts, particularly Fujian White Crane. Karate is now predominantly a striking art using punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open hand techniques such as knife-hands, spear-hands, and palm-heel strikes. Historically and in some modern styles grappling, throws, joint locks, restraints, and vital point strikes are also taught. A karate practitioner is called a karateka (空手家).
Karate developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom. It was brought to the Japanese mainland in the early 20th century during a time of cultural exchanges between the Japanese and the Chinese. It was systematically taught in Japan after the Taisho era. In 1922 the Japanese Ministry of Education invited Gichin Funakoshi to Tokyo to give a karate demonstration. In 1924 Keio University established the first university karate club in mainland Japan and by 1932, major Japanese universities had karate clubs. In this era of escalating Japanese militarism, the name was changed from 唐手 ("Chinese hand" or "Tang hand") to 空手 ("empty hand") – both of which are pronounced karate – to indicate that the Japanese wished to develop the combat form in Japanese style. After World War II, Okinawa became an important United States military site and karate became popular among servicemen stationed there.

The Karate Kid
The Karate Kid is a 1984 American martial arts drama film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by Robert Mark Kamen, starring Ralph Macchio, who was 22 years old during principal photography, Noriyuki "Pat" Morita and Elisabeth Shue. It is an underdog story in the mold of a previous success, Avildsen's 1976 film Rocky. It was a commercial success upon release, and garnered critical acclaim, earning Morita an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The film became the first in a series, spawning three sequels and a remake in 2010.
Plot
Daniel LaRusso and his mother Lucille move from Newark, New Jersey to Reseda, California. Their apartment building's handyman is an eccentric but kind and humble Okinawan immigrant named Kesuke Miyagi. He later trains Daniel to become a martial artist.
Daniel befriends Ali Mills, a high school cheerleader from Encino, which draws the attentions of her ex-boyfriend, Johnny Lawrence, a skilled practitioner of karate and member of Cobra Kai, a local dojo. Daniel keeps silent despite Johnny and his Cobra Kai gang constantly bothering and harassing him. He fights back in self-defense until Mr. Miyagi intervenes and single-handedly fends off the five attackers with ease. Amazed, Daniel asks Mr. Miyagi to teach him to fight. Miyagi refuses, but agrees to bring Daniel to the Cobra Kai dojo to resolve the conflict. They meet with the sensei, John Kreese, an ex-Special Forces Vietnam veteran, who callously dismisses the peace offering. Miyagi then proposes that Daniel enter the Under-18 All-Valley Karate Tournament, where he can compete with Johnny and the other Cobra Kai students on equal terms, and requests that the bullying cease while Daniel trains. Kreese agrees to the terms, but warns that if Daniel does not show up for the tournament, the harassment will resume and Miyagi himself will also become a target.

Being the most well known Japanese martial art (and practically a household name among all martial arts) Karate began as an Okinawan striking system which over time has combined elements of Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu/Wushu) and other non-striking Japanese martial arts (Judo, Aikido, etc.) to become the diverse set of separate styles recognized today. One Karate style, Uechi-Ryu, even incorporates Tiger, Crane, and Dragon movements similar to certain Kung Fu styles which implement their own animal components. When a 12-year-old from Detroit moves to China with his mother and incurs the wrath of the class bully at his new school, he makes an unlikely ally in the form of his aging maintenance man, a kung fu master who teaches him the secrets to self-defense. Upon arriving at his new school, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) develops a powerful crush on pretty classmate Mei Ying. The feeling is mutual, although the cultural divide between Dre and Mei Ying makes a friendship unlikely, and romance impossible. When cruel classmate and kung fu prodigy Cheng learns of Dre's feelings for Mei Ying, he harasses and humiliates the young outsider in front of the entire school. With no one to turn to for help, Dre confides his fears in kindly maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a kung fu master who knows that serenity and maturity -- not punches and power -- are the true keys to mastering the martial arts. A scientist creates a diamond that can focus sun-rays to burn through anything. He hides the diamond in a necklace. Khan ( Kader Khan), in a bid to get the diamond, kills the scientist . The scientist's karate-learning sons, Desh (Deb) and Vijay (Mithun), are separated from each other and their mother. Vijay/Vijay grows up with his karate instructor while Desh is reared by a gypsy camp where he befriends Imran (Mazhar) . Khan tracks down the karate instructor who kills himself before Khan could torture him for information about the scientists missing sons and the necklace. The dying instructor gives the necklace to Vijay who later gives it to his girlfriend Aarti (Yogita) who is the instructor's daughter for safekeeping. Vijay and Aarti raid Khan's illegal go downs and kills many of his men. Desh and Imran have grown up to be master thieves and pickpockets. Khan goes to Aarti house to kill her and steal the necklace. Aarti jumps off the window using a rope ladder . However she loses the necklace which is found by Desh who is attempting a burglary in the same building. Desh realizes that its his mother's necklace where his father has hidden the priceless diamond.

Words are the worst way to say what I have to say, but
sometimes you can't play how you want to play to show it
well. And this is one splinter of a sentence, both a pain
and a pleasure to try to expel. But I have to tell about
the years of influence and artless advice that can still
