More information on Crimea’s land conflict between Russian Federation and Ukraine – Land conflicts are often widely debated and can have disastrous effects on individuals, groups and entire nations. As Kids LearningTube, it’s my mission to teach those of all ages the facts and I do not have a personal opinion nor the authority to speak on behalf of territorial rights no matter how emotionally charged or justified the dispute of parties involved. With this said, below are some facts about Crimea since there’s international debate of whether it rightfully is part of the Russian Federation or Ukraine.
In recent history (“History of Crimea,” 1), Crimea became an oblast first of the Russian SSR (1945-1954) and then the Ukranian SSR (1954 - 1991). Since 1991 the territory was covered within independent Ukraine. During the 2014 Crimean crisis, the peninsula was taken over by pro-Russian forces and a referendum on whether to join Russia was held (“Crimean Status Referendum, 2014” 2), which resulted in Crimea being annexed by the Russian Federation. Since the annexation, there has been much debate of whether this is condemned or supported by the international community. At the 2014 UN General Assembly in 2014, 100 countries voted in favor of the position that Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territory was illegal under international law, 48 countries abstained from voting, and 10 countries backed the Russian Federation (“From A to Z: These are the 10 countries backing Putin’s annexation of Crimea,” 3).
The Russian Federation opposes the “annexation” label, with Putin defending the referendum as complying with the principle of self-determination of peoples. In July 2015, Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Crimea had been fully integrated into Russia (“Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation,” 4)

Russia is the largest country in the world. To help run its vast lands it requires a complicated set of Federal Subjects that include Oblasts, Krais, Republics, Federal Cities, Autonomous Okrugs, and an Autonomous Oblast.
These Federal Subjects of Russia are not all the same, and since Russia is an asymmetric federation, some of the subjects have more powers than others.
Oblasts, Krais, and Federal Cities are average Federal subjects, having the right to their own legislatures, while Republics,
Autonomous Okrugs, and the Autonomous Oblast are meant to provide additional rights to Russia’s minorities.
Republics get their own constitutions and official language status, while the Autonomous Okrugs and Oblast get some language rights. Additionally Autonomous Okrugs can, but not always, be divisions of other federal subjects.
The difference between Oblasts and Krais is just a historic one where Krais were once the frontiers of Russia. The federal cities are like oblasts but they only have 1 city in them.
The jewish autonomous oblast is perhaps the weirdest federal subject of Russia, since less than 1% of its population is jewish and its existence is a leftover from the soviet era.

The National Anthem of the Russian Federation (Russian: Государственный гимн Российской Федерации, "Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii") is the national anthem of Russia. Composed without words and discovered after Glinka's death, the anthem, without lyrics, was decreed official in 1993. Due to the lack of lyrics, the anthem was not popular. In addition, it did not inspire some Russian athletes during international competitions. A few contests were then sponsored by the government to include lyrics in the anthem, however none were adopted. Because of this, President Vladimir Putin decided that Alexandrov's music was to be restored, and that new lyrics should be written for it. The anthem was created and adopted in late 2000, and became the second anthem used by Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The public perception of the anthem is mixed amongst Russians. To some, the anthem is a reminder of the best days of Russia and honors the past sacrifices. The Russian government contends that the anthem is a symbol of unity of the people and respects the past. To others, the anthem reminds them of the acts of violence that occurred under the rule of Joseph Stalin. In a 2009 poll, about half of the respondents felt proud when hearing the anthem.

With this said, below are some facts about Crimea since there’s international debate of whether it rightfully is part of the Russian Federation or Ukraine.
In recent history (“History of Crimea,” 1), Crimea became an oblast first of the Russian SSR (1945-1954) and then the Ukranian SSR (1954 - 1991). Since 1991 the territory was covered within independent Ukraine. During the 2014 Crimean crisis, the peninsula was taken over by pro-Russian forces and a referendum on whether to join Russia was held (“Crimean Status Referendum, 2014” 2), which resulted in Crimea being annexed by the Russian Federation. Since the annexation, there has been much debate of whether this is condemned or supported by the international community. At the 2014 UN General Assembly in 2014, 100 countries voted in favor of the position that Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territory was illegal under international law, 48 countries abstained from voting, and 10 countries backed the Russian Federation (“From A to Z: These are the 10 countries backing Putin’s annexation of Crimea,” 3).
The Russian Federation opposes the “annexation” label, with Putin defending the referendum as complying with the principle of self-determination of peoples. In July 2015, Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Crimea had been fully integrated into Russia (“Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation,” 4)

In 1990, Russia needed a new anthem to distance itself from the Soviet past. In addition, it did not inspire some Russian athletes during international competitions. A few contests were then sponsored by the government to include lyrics in the anthem, however none were adopted. Because of this, President Vladimir Putin decided that Alexandrov's music was to be restored, and that new lyrics should be written for it. The anthem was created and adopted in late 2000, and became the second anthem used by Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The public perception of the anthem is mixed amongst Russians. To some, the anthem is a reminder of the best days of Russia and honors the past sacrifices. The National Anthem of the Russian Federation (Russian: Государственный гимн Российской Федерации, "Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii") is the national anthem of Russia. The song is an adaptation of the anthem of the Soviet Union that was used from 1944 until 1990, with music originally composed by Alexander Alexandrov. The lyrics were revised for the anthem of the Russian Federation by Sergey Mikhalkov, who also wrote lyrics for versions of the Soviet anthem in 1943 and 1977.
In 1990, Russia needed a new anthem to distance itself from the Soviet past. Although "God Save The Tsar!" was used before the overthrow of the Tsar in 1917, President of the Russian SFSR, Boris Yeltsin, decided to select the song "Patrioticheskaya pesnya" by Mikhail Glinka. Composed without words and discovered after Glinka's death, the anthem, without lyrics, was decreed official in 1993. Due to the lack of lyrics, the anthem was not popular. In addition, it did not inspire some Russian athletes during international competitions. A few contests were then sponsored by the government to include lyrics in the anthem, however none were adopted. Because of this, President Vladimir Putin decided that Alexandrov's music was to be restored, and that new lyrics should be written for it. The anthem was created and adopted in late 2000, and became the second anthem used by Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The public perception of the anthem is mixed amongst Russians. To some, the anthem is a reminder of the best days of Russia and honors the past sacrifices. The Russian government contends that the anthem is a symbol of unity of the people and respects the past. To others, the anthem reminds them of the acts of violence that occurred under the rule of Joseph Stalin. In a 2009 poll, about half of the respondents felt proud when hearing the anthem.

Moscow is a city of creativity and innovation, but is also very much aware of its own history; as such, a haunting part of any Moscow sightseeing is a visit to the Fallen Monument Park. After the fall of the Soviet Union, countless statues and monuments were removed from their pedestals and moved to this park. Over the years, more modern artwork and sculptures have been added, turning the park into a strange, yet peaceful graveyard of former icons.

The city’s history began with the construction of the Kremlin which lay at the very heart of the city and was for centuries Russia’s spiritual and political centre. A fascinating cruise travels across numerous rivers, canals and lakes within the heart of the former Tsar’s realm, past monasteries and timber built churches. In Uglič the Dimitrijvskaija Church is crowned with blue, onion-shaped domes that are adorned with stars. The red colour of the church is a symbol of bloodshed and the incidents that once occurred at this place of death gave rise to a time of confusion. St. Petersburg, known also as the Venice Of The North, contains splendid buildings such as the Winter Palace and the Eremitage. Twenty four thousand tree stumps were used for the foundation of Isaaks Cathedral that can accommodate a congregation of fourteen thousand. In Port Baikal is the modern Circum-Baikal train that takes a full day to travel around Lake Baikal and is one of the most difficult sections of the Trans-Siberian Railroad that travels from Moscow to as far as Vladivostok. Russia is huge and its nature, culture, immense contrast and dramatic history have formed the fascinating and colourful Russian soul.

It has also one of the nominated films in the International festival of Outdoor Films held in the Czech Republic
To the English, Russia is a place of mystery, danger and secrecy and defiantly not a holiday destination. So when a chance to visit St Petersburg came my way, I signed up without a moment’s hesitation. This guide explores an Englishman’s preconceived ideas about Russia and Russian culture.
I think I learnt a lot on my visit, and although I only know a few words in Russian they certainly came in handy more than once.
During my visit in October 2006 I took a lot of photos and turned them into this in depth travel guide.

On the southern outskirts of Brooklyn, just down the boardwalk from Coney Island, the peaceful ocean waves once drew waves of immigrants from a tumultuous past. Refugees from the former Soviet Union. After the Cold War ended in the '90s, an influx of Russians settled on the shores of the city.
Brighton Beach, nicknamed Little Odessa after the Ukrainian city on the Black Sea, boasts the largest Russian-speaking population in the United States. Here, you may feel you need a translator, or a tour guide, like Dave Garbarskiy.
Onward down Brighton Beach Avenue, at M & I International Food, locals stock up on fresh-made breads and other provisions. While there, also sample Russian-style eats like cured cold cuts, variations of pickled fish, and Pir-oj-ki: fried pastries with either a savory or a sweet-filled center.
Fresh apricot or mango juices often accompany meals at cafes, and you can sample a variety of dishes for under ten dollars.
Of course everyone in Russia needs a fur coat, and maybe a fox fur hat, as warm as they are stylish. Luckily, David's uncle owns a store down the street!
When you commit to long train rides to the outskirts of New York City, you'll be amazed by the things you discover. It's not necessarily that Brighton Beach looks like Russia - it looks like any other neighborhood in Brooklyn. What makes it Russian is the people you meet, the sound of the language and the music in the streets, the foods you get to sample - that's what gives it the vibe that you're somewhere else outside of the United States.

Russia is the largest country in the world. To help run its vast lands it requires a complicated set of Federal Subjects that include Oblasts, Krais, Republics, Federal Cities, Autonomous Okrugs, and an Autonomous Oblast. These Federal Subjects of Russia are not all the same, and since Russia is an asymmetric federation, some of the subjects have more powers than others. In recent history (“History of Crimea,” 1), Crimea became an oblast first of the Russian SSR (1945-1954) and then the Ukranian SSR (1954 - 1991). Since 1991 the territory was covered within independent Ukraine. During the 2014 Crimean crisis, the peninsula was taken over by pro-Russian forces and a referendum on whether to join Russia was held (“Crimean Status Referendum, 2014” 2), which resulted in Crimea being annexed by the Russian Federation. Since the annexation, there has been much debate of whether this is condemned or supported by the international community. At the 2014 UN General Assembly in 2014, 100 countries voted in favor of the position that Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territory was illegal under international law, 48 countries abstained from voting, and 10 countries backed the Russian Federation (“From A to Z: These are the 10 countries backing Putin’s annexation of Crimea,” 3).
The Russian Federation opposes the “annexation” label, with Putin defending the referendum as complying with the principle of self-determination of peoples. In July 2015, Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Crimea had been fully integrated into Russia (“Annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation,” 4)

Composed without words and discovered after Glinka's death, the anthem, without lyrics, was decreed official in 1993. Due to the lack of lyrics, the anthem was not popular. In addition, it did not inspire some Russian athletes during international competitions. A few contests were then sponsored by the government to include lyrics in the anthem, however none were adopted. Because of this, President Vladimir Putin decided that Alexandrov's music was to be restored, and that new lyrics should be written for it. The anthem was created and adopted in late 2000, and became the second anthem used by Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The public perception of the anthem is mixed amongst Russians. To some, the anthem is a reminder of the best days of Russia and honors the past sacrifices. The Russian government contends that the anthem is a symbol of unity of the people and respects the past. To others, the anthem reminds them of the acts of violence that occurred under the rule of Joseph Stalin. In a 2009 poll, about half of the respondents felt proud when hearing the anthem.

The National Anthem of the Russian Federation (Russian: Государственный гимн Российской Федерации, "Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii") is the national anthem of Russia. The song is an adaptation of the anthem of the Soviet Union that was used from 1944 until 1990, with music originally composed by Alexander Alexandrov. The lyrics were revised for the anthem of the Russian Federation by Sergey Mikhalkov, who also wrote lyrics for versions of the Soviet anthem in 1943 and 1977.
In 1990, Russia needed a new anthem to distance itself from the Soviet past. Although "God Save The Tsar!" was used before the overthrow of the Tsar in 1917, President of the Russian SFSR, Boris Yeltsin, decided to select the song "Patrioticheskaya pesnya" by Mikhail Glinka. Composed without words and discovered after Glinka's death, the anthem, without lyrics, was decreed official in 1993. Due to the lack of lyrics, the anthem was not popular. In addition, it did not inspire some Russian athletes during international competitions. A few contests were then sponsored by the government to include lyrics in the anthem, however none were adopted. Because of this, President Vladimir Putin decided that Alexandrov's music was to be restored, and that new lyrics should be written for it. The anthem was created and adopted in late 2000, and became the second anthem used by Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The public perception of the anthem is mixed amongst Russians. To some, the anthem is a reminder of the best days of Russia and honors the past sacrifices. The Russian government contends that the anthem is a symbol of unity of the people and respects the past. To others, the anthem reminds them of the acts of violence that occurred under the rule of Joseph Stalin. In a 2009 poll, about half of the respondents felt proud when hearing the anthem.

This review is a Russian Federation 24 hour Individual Food Ration commonly known as the IRP: (Individual'nyi Ratsion Pitaniya (IRP) (Индивидуальный рацион питания/ИРП)depending on the menu it provides anywhere from 4,500 to 4,700 calories per day which is over twice the daily recommended amount for sedentary people. A showcase of RHS: Escalation's Russian Federation faction. Mainly a look at one skin of most vehicles, the VDV units. There are plenty of other skins, but then we'd have hundreds of vehicles.

Q: How often does PhanTactical have events?
A: Friday and Saturday at 4pm PST and 2pm PST respectively. An optional training on Tuesday, 4pm PST.
Q: Do I have to be a native English speaker?
A: Of course not, but you must speak fluent English.
Q: Is this community exclusively ArmA or can I play other games?
A: We're an ArmA group entirely, official events are always ArmA. Yet people use TS3 and forums to organize other games with friends within the group!
