Folks, for real, we’re getting way way more requests like this than we can possibly handle. This is fantastic, because people want to step up like never before. But also people need to do some of the leg work on their own. Like typing “antifascist” + the area you’re looking in.
If there’s a crew near you that we know about, chances are that we’ve posted about them in the past. To find those posts, type the area you’re looking in site:antifainternational.tumblr.com into Google or whatever. That’s the fastest way to use our tumblr to find the local antifa near you.

We’re biased but really the best anti-fascist charity is The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund, followed closely by the nearest active anti-fascist organization to you.
1) The deal is that antifa is a biiig movement and we don’t all agree on anything besides an opposition to fascism, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and related forms of oppression. So we don’t all agree on what political system is ideal.
2) That said, we wonder if you were reading antifa blogs that were making very valid and (we’d imagine especially now) obvious critiques of the total sham that is passed off as “democracy” in most western, capitalist countries.
Just look at what just happened in America: a country with more than 300 million people (where “anyone can be President!”) was asked to choose between two straight, white multimillionaires who are close friends and who agree on a majority of topics to literally rule over their lives and the lives of millions of other people elsewhere for the next four years. And that’s what democracy is supposed to be.
3) Meanwhile, in Rojava, people are building real, substantive democracy and anti-fascists are helping them do it!

The irony of your question coming up the same day we answered this question! But never mind that.
If it’s about people saying that they do not personally want to participate in anything that could get violent, that’s fine. Anti-fascism is a big tent with lots of people that feel lots of different ways about lots of different things. Like we said earlier, physically defending yourself & your community against racist terrorists isn’t mandatory.
But!
If you’re talking about liberals spouting the same of tired bullshit about militant anti-fascism, read this.
Really though? We wouldn’t waste our time arguing with liberals. There’s too much work to be done to get sidetracked by their privileged bullshittery.

It’s very easy to focus on violence that erupts when antifa confront racist swine. But the reality is that anti-fascism involves so much more than physical self-defence of ourselves and our communities from bigoted terrorists.
Some random things we can think of that would support anti-fascism & anti-racism that doesn’t involve you thumping some bonehead:
1) Read points 3 & 4 in this post!
2) Read this post, too.
3) This tumblr is full of non-violent actions that antifa have taken all over the world. Go through our archive to find some actions that would work where you live.
4) Write to antifascist prisoners.
5) Raise money for antifascist causes. Like, oh, we don’t know - THE INTERNATIONAL ANTI-FASCIST DEFENCE FUND!!!
6) Put bigots on notice that they are not welcome where you live, like Asheville Anti-Racism did recently. We have some stickers that might be very useful for an action like this!
7) Build an authentic anti-racist youth culture in your area by putting on events, parties, or shows that are explicitly anti-fascist/anti-racist, like the throwdown Cleveland antifascists put on two weeks ago or the dance parties Frankfurt SHARP do on the regular!
Anti-fascism is a big movement with a wide range of people who are comfortable doing different things and who bring different talents to the movement. Figure out what your contribution is going to be and put in some work!
That is a great question! All donations we receive go into The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund, which we established in 2015 to help out anti-fascists and anti-racists when they run into trouble because of their work against hatred and bigotry.
