Academy Award nominees Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky, Blue Jasmine) and Ethan Hawke star in the true story of Maud Lewis, who overcame the physical challenge of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis to become one of Canada’s premier folk artists. http://www.tiff.net/films/maudie/
The new art house movie, “Maudie,” based on the true of a Canadian folk artist. It boasts a powerful, Oscar-worthy performance by Sally Hawkins in the title role, and it’s set in a beautifully scenic corner of Nova Scotia. Those are two reasons critics say thew movie is worth seeing. The movie is also getting billed as a love story and critics feel that element leaves quite a bit to be desired. Hawkins brings Maude Dowley Lewis, an arthritic folk artist with a can-do spirit, to vivid life in the seemingly effortless way that the talented British actress has with well-drawn roles. http://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/the-wrap/article/Maudie-Telluride-Review-Sally-Hawkins-9201401.php http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Entertainment using http://wochit.com

There are few events in film history in which 3 movies mark 14 years in the life of 2 characters, much less the life of 2 actors and a director. But that is the achievement of the "Before" trilogy; Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight for Richard Linklater and his partner actor/writers, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. Ethan spoke to David Poland about his history with the series and how it has changed his career and life. Ethan Hawke, Part 1: A Career - http://bit.ly/HegVt7 Shot in Los Angeles, August 2013
