If there was ever a moment to be bold for change, this is it. So let's hope the AFL is heaps bold.
On Friday, a mere day after this year's tumultuous AFL trade period came to a close, I had the pleasure of welcoming a new addition of team Higginbotham into the world with the arrival of my baby nephew, Adam Jr.Â

Being a fan of the modern game, I find myself pushing back against a constant desire to let Football represent more to me than just a sport. Are the players heroes? Are they inspirational?

Over the past year or so, franchises such as Star Wars and Rocky have solidified what many pundits already believed, and that is that people love a revival. More Wookies, more Italian stallions - if we liked it before we'll like it again and the same can be said of sport.
 Last week Australia marked White Ribbon Day with the Bulldogs, the NRL and many other sporting groups throwing their support behind the male-led campaign to end violence against women.
