Motorcyclist killed after 'coming off bike' in Stirling Highway crash

A motorcyclist has been killed following a crash Stirling Highway on Friday afternoon.

It is understood the incident occurred at around 4.08pm, when the motorcyclist collided with a car.

The man reportedly came off his bike, and received serious injuries in the crash.

St John Ambulance officers attended the scene but were unable to revive him. 

Main Roads WA advised commuters to avoid Wellington Street, Vlaminghe Parade and McCabe Street due to road blocks.

Detours are in place via Tydeman Road, Port Beach Road, Walter Place and Curtin Avenue.

Only one lane is currently operational and traffic is understood to have banked up to Fremantle.

Main Roads advised the Highway would remain closed while Major Crash officers investigate.
