Farm

From local seeds we propagate, plant, grow, harvest, produce, sell, cook and share a bounty of organic, locally grown produce. The CERES Community Food System is a working collection of farms, animals, food swaps, ethical retail enterprises and food projects that train, employ and connect diverse groups of people through locally grown organic food. We aim to demonstrate how an urban city farm can anchor a community and contribute to the local economy; providing an ethical market place, employment and opportunities for farmers, producers, teachers and food workers in an environment where we can celebrate the harvest. CERES has two certified organic market gardens located over two sites, Honey Lane Market Garden and the Merri Creek Market Garden. These gardens are at the centre of our community food system and are inspiring examples of urban agriculture and a resource for training groups and volunteers.
